Woodlands Residential Care Home

From the moment I was in contact with the team at Woodlands Residential Care Home, they gave me every confidence that they would look after my father with the greatest of care always provided with respect and dignity. He is currently staying at Woodlands for respite care. He says how lovely everyone has been and nothing is too much trouble. The home has a lovely garden where residents are encouraged to sit out or enjoy walks and enjoy the fresh air. There are a wide variety of activities on offer and various outings to local pubs/gardens and centres/cafes which Dad has enjoyed. Dad feels safe, secure and cared for. He settled in quickly to the new environment after living alone for 13 years. This is all down to the wonderful team at Woodlands who are so caring and compassionate. His stay is proving to be such a positive one all round for him.

My mother in law moved in earlier this year and has been treated with dignity, respect and loving care ever since. She is given the option to join in with the many varied activities available or just to read papers or sit with other residents in the lovely lounges or gardens. She seems to have settled very well as she has always been adamant that she wouldn’t go into a home.

My husband and I are very pleased with the care that Mother has, now she is living in Woodlands and feels confident with the care that she is receiving.

Dad has been at Woodlands for 8 months now. We are so pleased to have found him a place to live where his physical and medical needs are well met, and where he is truly cared for as a whole person. When Dad agreed to us looking into residential care, his main concern was that "the staff have the right attitude". The staff at Woodlands are second to none; the atmosphere warm and friendly. From the outset, the manager and all her staff got to know Dad as an individual, and did a wonderful job helping him settle in. He has flourished in their care, and is happier than we could have imagined when he was widowed last year after 62 years of loving marriage. Dad has made new friends and enjoys all the activities and visits - from cooking and flower arranging to exercise classes, minibus outings, games, singing, arts and crafts, he always has something to tell us about! He loves the garden, for daily walks and sitting in the courtyard, and is very impressed with the plentiful, tasty food.

We would not hesitate to recommend Woodlands, with heartfelt thanks to all.

Woodlands has been great in settling my mother into the home. The staff are very caring and kind. Woodlands provide stimulating activities throughout the day.

Mum has been in Woodlands for nearly 3-years now. She is extremely happy there and tells us whenever we see her. They understand her needs and her character and treat her like a family member. Nothing is too much trouble. Knowing she is safe and so well cared for, takes such a lot of pressure off of a very stressful situation when a loved one has to go into care.

Staff are excellent at their jobs. Plenty of activities to keep them occupied.

The staff are friendly and professional. The home is clean and inviting. My grandfather loves living here.

The managers and the entire staff are so friendly, kind and caring. I am so pleased that my mother-in-law is being cared for in such a lovely environment. The way they have adapted to the ever-changing conditions brought about by the pandemic has been most impressive. The visiting arrangements have been cleverly implemented to ensure residents and their family and friends can continue to visit and now meet up. At the same time, there are well planned and executed arrangements to ensure the residents and staff are protected from the Coronavirus.

My mum has been at Woodlands Residential Care Home for the last year. The staff are giving Mum excellent care, especially through Covid. I was so pleased last week to be able to visit Mum inside the care home and finally being able to hold Mum's hand after a year of lockdown, it was wonderful. I very much look forward to my next visit. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Woodlands.

The staff at Woodlands are fantastic. Despite being put under intense pressure, as a result of Covid, they have only ever been caring, helpful and kind.

My father is a long term resident of Woodlands and I cannot thank the staff enough for giving him such amazing care while he has been there. Every day he has been there he has been treated with dignity, patience and understanding. I am kept constantly informed of the trips, fun and games he participated in and seeing him so happy in his final years has given his family a great sense of comfort and relief that he is in safe hands. I cannot praise the staff enough and indeed the whole management of the residential home, they keep a high standard at all times and put the residents first. It was really hard to find a place my father would be able to call home but we did. Thank You.

My mum is in Woodlands and has been for 2 years. There are no words to describe our gratitude to the staff there for their love and care for our mum. They are incredible human beings. During COVID their first thought is for the residents who they call family. They understand that as families we miss them but do everything possible to keep us updated through FaceTime, weekly updates and pictures. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. They really are outstanding.

Woodlands is a great place for my Mum. She always feels cared for as all the staff treat her like family as they do with all the residents. It is a very welcoming and friendly environment with a full activity programme each day to keep everyone active physically and mentally. My Mum is regularly saying how good the food is and the more than ample portions. On top of the activities, there is a beautiful garden, regular visits from a hairdresser, physiotherapist and local Doctor. The management and staff have been fantastic in the current situation. Applying common sense from their medical experience to keep the residents and staff safe.

My father-in-law joined the residents at Woodlands this year after his wife passed away. We visited many of the homes in this area and Woodlands felt the most homely and welcoming. Lots of the residents were up and about and the staff seemed very attentive and caring. It has been a really difficult time for everyone with the Covid19 outbreak but the staff have done an amazing job in keeping the residents safe and well and there is always plenty going on to keep them occupied. We can't praise Woodlands highly enough. When we asked my father-in-law what were the main things he liked about Woodlands he said the staff are brilliant, he likes his room but also being able to spend time in the lounge and the food is very good. The staff work really hard to keep everybody happy and they go out of their way to arrange FaceTime calls and safe visits in a new gazebo in the garden which has comfy seats and heating.
