View Full Details of Ashlyns Care HomeMum moved to Ashlyns at the start of 2025 initially for respite care and soon became permanent. This was an uncertain time for us but all the staff were friendly, reassuring and welcoming. Mum settled in quickly and her health improved at the same time. Having been somewhat isolated at home, Mum now engages in the many and varied activities provided and has made friends with other residents. She regularly comments on how lovely and helpful the staff are and this experience is shared by myself and my wife whenever we visit. She enjoys the food too! The home provides a calming but cheerful and friendly environment, enhanced by the beautiful gardens and conservatory. It is comforting knowing that Mum is safe, well looked after and contented. Thanks to all the staff and management at Ashlyns.
Both of my parents needed extra support over the last few years and Ashlyns was the top of my list for where to place them. It lived up to all my expectations. The staff are all amazing.. there is always a smile and lots of support, most importantly when things are hard. The care given is second to none and especially as my parents were deteriorating, the dignity and dedication that was provided I will never forget. It's a lovely environment too, very clean and light with lovely grounds where you can take a walk. And most importantly for those with mobility issues all on one level. I cannot recommend Ashlyns enough. A lot of effort is made with the food, being home cooked wherever possible and mum and dad enjoyed their meals. And there is an extensive biscuit tray!! Having to place your parents in a care home is hard enough but when you have the immense support of a lovely team of people it makes it so much easier to bare. Thank you to the managers and the all the team.
I have felt very supported by the care given to my sister. The staff are very patient with her and take into account her worries and concerns. In particular, when she has been attended to by the dentist and a district nurse, they have demonstrated compassion and care. I am very grateful to all concerned.
My parents are residents of Ashlyns Care Home, and the care they receive is kind, professional, and compassionate. The fact that there are many longstanding staff members contributes to the positive atmosphere and residents' knowledge. The rooms and facilities are attractive and well maintained.
When visiting my sister at Ashlyns Care home I have found that all the carers and staff to be very helpful and approachable. The residents appear to be well looked after and their surroundings are lovely.
I am very impressed with Ashlyns Care Home. All the staff are friendly and approachable. Mum is well looked after and the facilities offered are excellent. The carers have adapted well to her changing needs. She is settled and happy in her new home.
My mother has been a resident of Ashlyns Care Home for over a year now. The whole family has been so impressed with the care given to my mum over this period. The carers have been like an extended family to my mum and she enjoys all her chats with them. The fact that a lot of the carers and admin staff have been working at Ashlyns for many years and that it is not full of agency workers also adds to the positive experience. The food is very good and my mum especially enjoys the breakfasts. Her room is lovely and she has made it into a home from home with all her artwork and furniture. There are many activities planned for the week and my mum enjoys attending some of these. We are so grateful to all the staff for their hard work especially as we live a distance away from the home and cannot visit on a regular basis. We would certainly recommend Ashlyns Care Home to anyone else who has an elderly parents needing to go into a care home.
Mum is very happy in the home and regularly mentions how much she likes the staff. More importantly, her health is improving since she came here over 2 years ago. The staff are excellent!
My stepmother has been a resident at Ashlyns for seven months now. The transition was challenging at first, moving from independent living to a residential home, but over time, she has adapted very well. She seems very settled now and has built lovely connections with both the staff and other residents. The staff are incredibly kind, attentive and always willing to listen and address any concerns we may have. Nothing ever feels like too much trouble for them. They actively encourage my stepmother to participate in activities and she spends much of her day out of her room, which has made such a positive difference. I've noticed a significant improvement in both her mental and physical health and it's heartwarming to see her smile so much these days. We're truly grateful for the care and support she's receiving.
My friend has been living at Ashlyn's for a few months and I feel she is safe and is being very well looked after both physically and emotionally. The staff are all very friendly and respectful towards both residents and their friends and families and managers are excellent and deal with any issues or difficulties efficiently with good communication. I have had many friends who have had to move into care homes but I will always recommend Ashlyn's as I feel they go above and beyond to help the residents adjust to their new surroundings and routines and make it feel like home.
Just a short note to say what a lovely afternoon I had with my mother in the Willows. The lady was doing a simple art activity around the table and the atmosphere was so warm. Lovely chat, music playing and cups of tea. Everyone happy and included.
My father has been living at Ashlyns Care Home for eight months. I have been impressed from the beginning with every aspect of the care home and the attention my father has received has been exemplary. Staff are very welcoming, kind and caring and really take time to get to know the residents. Any queries I have had have been dealt with quickly, I see the staff going out of their way to help residents and their families, the activities are varied and very well run by a super cheerful team, residents can take day trips out to local events and there is plenty of laughter and good humour. My father is thriving.
Very welcoming person on the front desk. Friendly and very knowledgeable. Care staff are friendly and approachable. Lots of activities organised for residents, not sure how all-inclusive they are for residents who lose track of time or not sure where to go. Have sampled some meals, eating with Mum in the conservatory table laid and very good service of food. The room is very small but looks onto the courtyard. Ensuite is tiny and have had to ask for it to be cleaned on several occasions. Garden areas are nice to sit out in.
Kind and friendly staff. Well-maintained facilities. Good activity programme. Residents meetings to gain feedback and make improvements. Effort made to engage the families.
I came for respite care. All staff were very thoughtful, kind and helped me get stronger. Nothing was too much trouble. Everything well organised. I would recommend Ashlyns.
I had to take my mum for an eye check-up. I had emailed when I needed to collect Mum and asked to book a wheelchair as well. When I arrived to collect Mum, the staff had her ready with a wheelchair and a number of staff to make sure all went well to get us off on time. It really felt like we were all working together to care for Mum. I was very grateful.
I rarely feel so moved to write a review, but Ashlyns is an incredible and very special place. My dad had been very poorly and we were looking for somewhere for him to heal and get his confidence back after a very long time in hospital. As soon as I visited Ashlyns, I was impressed by the warmth, kindness and sincerity of everyone. And from the moment Dad arrived, the team at Ashlyns couldn't do enough to make him feel at home. It was like he was a member of their family, and as his daughters, my sister and I felt it, too. My dad only stayed for about a month on respite, as he is keen to try and live independently at home for as long as he can, but when he left Ashlyns, he said that it was the place he would want to return to if and when the time came. I cannot tell you how much that means, as Dad has always been very reluctant to go into a care home. I can tell that he was moved by the support, care and kindness he received. A heartfelt thank you to all the team.
Such a lovely care home, my grandmother is so well cared for. Clean and light room. Staff are very welcoming and accommodating for requests, we recently held a 90th birthday party here. Thank you for all your support.
An outstanding caring and pleasant environment. Residents are treated with compassion, care and respect and the staff seem genuinely interested in treating each resident as an individual. We enjoyed an excellent Sunday lunch with our friend served in a lovely environment.
My Mum received amazing care at Ashlyns, from the front-of-house team to the care staff themselves everyone was lovely and treated mum with warmth and the greatest respect. Mum has had to move to a nursing home now but I will always be grateful to the whole team for making tough times so much more manageable.
