My Mum was a resident at Greenbanks from April-June 2025. Owing to Mum's Alzheimer's, additional care that we could not provide following an operation was needed. Never having used a care home before, we were very concerned about where to place Mum, but the staff at Greenbanks were so professional and sympathetic from the outset that any worries were immediately alleviated for us as a family. The care given by frontline staff was exemplary and the administrative side of things was dealt with very professionally. We always felt able to ask questions, and staff at all levels responded in an open and honest manner that served to reassure us. Activities and events at Greenbanks were consistent and enjoyable, and by involving families as well as residents, a sense of community in the home was created. Mum unfortunately passed away in June when her Alzheimer's went into its advanced stage, but we gained great solace from the dignified end of life care Mum received. Thank you everyone.
I was a respite patient on the 2nd floor room 54. All of the staff there were hard-working and efficient, caring and patient, and went out of their way to help in any way they could. Very, very clean and surprising quiet for a care home. As most of the residents are memory care, it was difficult to interact with them... But the staff more than made up for it. The food was delicious. The garden is beautiful and restful... as is the entire facility. I wish there had been more activities, but the activity coordinator was on vacation during my stay, so that is understandable... and the BBQ was fabulous!
I was worried about moving my mum into a care home, but Greenbanks Care Home is so nice and the staff are looking after my mum very well. She is settled and happy here. I am so grateful for everyone involved. This has given me such a relief. Thank you everyone.
We are so happy with the care that Mum is receiving. Greenbanks has a warm feeling about it. The staff are amazing. I can highly recommend this care home.
From the initial contact I made to the care home, the staff have been fantastic at communication. They have ensured as a team to make Mum feel very comfortable. Mum has settled in very well and it's the most relaxed we have seen her in a long time. Much appreciation to all of you!
Greenbanks staff cared for my mother very well for the seven years she was there and considered it her home.
Very good care by all the staff. Good food. Mum was looked after well and she was treated very well.
As this was my mother's first care home my concern was her settling. I didn't have to worry. I met the managers to discuss requirements and all the home can offer. The fantastic are excellent and she has settled straight away. In addition, the activities are superb.
My mother-in-law was discharged to Greenbanks from a long 6-week stay in hospital and had lost many of her skills, was not walking or even sitting up properly. She has been attending the daycare centre joined to Greebanks for two years. The staff from the day centre knew my mother-in-law really well and worked in partnership with Greenbanks staff to help in her rehabilitation. She is now walking with her frame and engaging well with all the staff and residents. As a family, we cannot thank everyone enough and would like to say an extra special big thank you to the manager of Victoria Day Center who was so dedicated to helping my mother-in-law's rehabilitation. All staff have been very kind and caring and offer a high standard of care and we have been made very welcome as a family being able to visit whenever we want.
My mum really enjoyed her three week stay at Greenbanks. The staff were very good and understanding. She was very upset to leave. I really recommend the home.
Greenbanks is the most amazing care home for my father. They can help with all his needs. All the staff and management are so kind and friendly.
When I had the painful decision to make to put my wife into permanent residential care, I visited a number of homes in the local area. The fundamental criteria was that my wife had to be content, cared for and safe. All homes should achieve this next is the environment, not clinical. A homely feel, good sized bedrooms which can be furnished to make it welcoming for the residents, good open space, and gardens to let residents enjoy. Finally, any care home is basically bricks, mortar, and furnishings, it is the staff that make it a good care home. Greenbank has it all.
My father was admitted for respite care and now is being transferred for long-term care to Greenbanks. He is very pleased with his care. The staff and management are helpful, caring and sympathetic. Well done to the whole team.
The bedrooms are always tidy and the bathroom clean. The staff are very friendly and approachable. Any problems are soon dealt with. At Greenbanks the facilities are very good and as a visitor, the lounge and garden area are very pleasant areas to meet and visit the residents. I feel confident that my husband is being well looked after. Having to admit that I couldn't cope any more was a hard decision.
The staff are very friendly and approachable. They know and understand my mum's needs, moods and routines. This certainly helps with her care and is treated with respect and dignity. I have no concerns with her own personal cleanliness, as well as her room and the overall facilities of the care home. I am impressed with how the staff are able to encourage Mum to eat as this has always been a struggle for her in later years. She also enjoys the activities, especially the music.
My sister is a resident of Greenbanks. It is situated in lovely quiet grounds. The residents can sit out or just walk around the lovely garden. The rooms are all newly decorated and exceptionally clean. There is always something to occupy them whether it's singing, crafts or going out for a little trip to a garden centre or park. The residents are all treated with empathy and dignity. The staff keep me well-informed on every aspect of my sister's care. They have had some big changes in Manager and Unit Manager and you can tell the difference. The staff are very happy and jovial and work well together and work as one with the very able Unit Manager. I would recommend this care home wholeheartedly I don't think I could look after my sister any better than they do. Thank you to you all.
My relative is well cared for, well dressed, clean. They know his likes and dislikes. Communication is very good, we are kept updated if there are any issues. He seems very happy and content.
My dad has been in Greenbanks for nearly 1.5 years. I have been most impressed with every single staff member from deputy manager, unit manager, well-being leads, care team leaders, home administrator, and the whole of the care team. I cannot praise them enough. About the manager (we're on no. 7!) What is going on? It is terrible, there is obviously something going on in Runwood Homes! They have all seemed nice, but when they want to improve things it seems they are stopped! When is this going to stop? Also the weekly cost was put up by nearly £100 a week! How is this justified? I hope it is the staff who have benefited but I don't think so!
My mother has been in this care home for over 3 years and I am very happy with her care. The rooms are always clean and tidy and she always has clean bedding. The staff treat her as if she were their own mother and always with respect and dignity. I am always kept up to date with Mum's care and how she is doing so I don't need to worry.
3rd ambulance in 2 weeks (5th 999 since Jan) All incidents "unwitnessed" (eg- gashed forehead, double fractured pelvis, broken nose, cut head, multiple severe bruising, skin rips & tears) 4th ambulance crew raised major care concerns and I witnessed their paperwork handed to night staff. Next day, day staff knew nothing of any paperwork. Occupational Therapy (OT) care plan rehab instructions (agreed by home manager) not implemented. One "carer" told me she'd not been told but, either way, if that kind of care was wanted I'd have to buy it in! Same person later claimed not to have been told of the care plan a 2nd time when a new manager took over! Found Mum alone in a corridor in a wheelchair (breaking at least 2 OT instructions) so I filmed as evidence. Suddenly staff appear complaining I'm in breach of GDPR but no contrition for her being unattended. Latest hospitalisation from 10/5 - 14/6 but not one phone call asking me how she is. Not fit for purpose. She ain't going back there!
