View Full Details of Stanborough LodgeMy mum's time at Stanborough Lodge was short but I've never seen her happier. She particularly enjoyed the parties. She was suffering from dementia and the care she received was exemplary. As too was the kindness she was shown at the end of her life. The staff at the care home still make me feel like one of the family.
My mother has been a resident at Stanborough Lodge for two and a half years. In spite of her progressing dementia and inability to communicate, she continues to be happy, content and very much enjoying the company of other people. All of the staff work so hard to ensure residents have the best possible quality of life, care and attention.
Mum is now in her 6th month as resident she has been well looked after much better in her appearance and dietary needs improved. Due to the covering staff mum is now checked often by local doctors. Her falls have been prevented her constant supervision by staff and contact with other residents. Many thanks to of the staff.
My Dad has now been a resident of Stanborough Lodge for a year. He is really happy and it is definitely his home and the other residents and staff his family and friends. He benefits so much from the activities designed to promote memory and movement, social interaction and wellbeing. Before he moved into the home it felt like we were losing him to dementia. Now with the outstanding care we feel like we have him back. I cannot rate Stanborough Lodge, Joanna and her team highly enough. Just wonderful!
My mum has been in Stanborough care home since June and she is very happy there the staff are fantastic and caring nothing is to much trouble I could not think of a better place for my mum to spend the rest of her days thankyou Stanborough lodge
My Father moved in to the home in April 2025, this was a big move for us both from living in his own flat to moving to residential care, the experience from the initial enquiry was outstanding and has continued to be for the whole time he has been a resident. The Registered Manager is extremely knowledgeable, supportive and remains in regular Communication, any queries are responded to quickly and efficiently. The staff team is small, offering continuity of Care, you can see they genuinely care and treat all residents with kindness and compassion. The staff respond quickly to any change in care needs and keep me updated, it is clear they have excellent communication between them as every member of staff knows exactly what is happening, they. The home has activities in place which are inclusive to the residence, their family and friends. The staff are always smiling and enthusiastic and keen to make sure everyone enjoys themselves. I cannot recommend this home highly enough.
We were so pleased to find Stanborough Lodge to care for our mother in the final stage of her life. The caring shown by the manager and all the team was outstanding and we knew that everything possible was being done to meet our mother's needs and keep her comfortable. Although the home lacks the facilities of some larger care homes, we felt that the warm, homely atmosphere suited our mother better than a more hotel style environment. We had the sense of it being a very happy place, where the lovely staff know all the residents really well and provide truly personalised care. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
My relative has been a resident from April 2025. Manager and staff are friendly and attentive at all times. I am particularly impressed by the regular social events and activities what are very inclusive. I like the fact the home is small, homely and facilitates a homely atmosphere.
When my sister and myself first walked into this care home. We immediately felt a warm and friendly atmosphere present. We have never regretted choosing here for our stepfather to live in his twilight years. The management and staff are exceptional. Father was happy here, so well looked after until his recent passing. I would have no hesitate in recommending this care home to anyone in search of a safe, lovely care home for their parent to stay in.
My mother is now a resident at the care home. All the staff are all most helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The home is very clean and well looked after. The manager has taken time to talk to us and settle any worries we may have had.
Very happy with the care that my dad is receiving should get top marks, they are brilliant. Glad that I can leave dad knowing his being looked after so good.
I have visited a friend at Stanborough Lodge and been to some functions there also and the staff have always been very friendly and amazing with the residents. They always give brilliant food and entertainment for everyone.
My experience of my wife's residence at Stanborough Lodge is one of great care for both my wife and my family.. entertainment at the home for special occasions goes beyond expectations.. this month was a Valentines Day Party at which the resident entertainer and a professional Cabaret Act kept residents and families in a wonderful party mood.. family and visitors are always made welcome
My dad spent a year at Stanborough Lodge before unfortunately passing away this January. The care and compassion shown by the staff has been outstanding both during his stay and since he died. I can not recommend Stanborough Lodge highly enough.
My dad moved in to Stanborough Lodge last October with Dementia/Alzheimer's. We were worried he wouldn't make the transition from a house and garden with my mum and cat. The manager spent time getting to know him and his needs and as soon as the right room was available it was fully redecorated. He moved in and had his own pictures on the walls, plenty of storage for all his things and all the attention and support he needed. Of course he had a few ups and downs as he settled in, but he was well supported and really hasn't looked back! He loves all the entertainments and activities (even parties). He's a big fan of the food and the level of care is second to none. The manager goes above and beyond to look after my dad and us. It's such a well run place with very consistent staff who feel like a real team and seem always happy and welcoming. It's small enough to feel homely and comfortable but big enough to cope and have everything it needs. It's very clean and very well maintained.
My father-in-law has settled in really well to this home. It is a great size (not too small or big), very helpful and friendly staff, issues and concerns (not many) are sorted efficiently. The staff put on a wide range of activities. Overall I am very pleased with this care home.
The staff look after my Nan very well, she can be a little difficult but they take it all in stride. The room is always clean and tidy and the grounds are nice, there are a lot of activities available. My Nan doesn't think much of the food however!
I visited my dad back in October when Stanborough lodge hosted their Halloween party. My dad seemed happy, clean and very cared for as well as all the other residents. The place was spotless and all staff were very responsive and helpful. I am so glad I have somewhere where I can trust the staff and know they treat all residents like they are part of their family.
Finding the best Care Home for a loved one is not easy especially if you have no experience of Residential Care. I'd like to share my personal experience about Stanborough Lodge. My mother, then aged 98, had recently been diagnosed with dementia. She was living with me and I knew the time had come she needed more help and I had to find a place where she could be looked after. One day 2 years ago I called Stanborough Lodge. I was able to speak to the Manager right away who gently offered support and understanding. I instinctively knew then this was a special place. My mother has been a resident for almost 2 years and my initial reaction was 100% right. This is due to the individual care and support from the Manager and her wonderful Staff. I'm regularly kept updated of any changes in my mother's health. Her room and laundry is beautifully looked after. The Home has a lovely, warm atmosphere and I'm always welcomed by Staff during regular visits. This is a very special place.
My mother has been a resident for around a year and I am very happy with her care. The team are very caring and keeps me updated on everything that is going on. My mother enjoys one-to-one activities and they ensure that she gets that.
