My mother receives excellent care at Abbey Lodge. They are particularly good with her physical and medical needs.
Staff are all pleasant and management are always accessible for any questions or comments.
I feel confident my mother is safe and well looked after.

My mother was very ill in the New Year and the staff have acted with care and compassion.
The staff are always friendly and welcoming, and respond quickly if we have a query. The chef is very accommodating and will provide alternative options to meals, to meet her needs.

I have only been to the home once.My aunt seemed to be fine.I can't visit anymore due to my own health issues.I'm not to involved with the process of her care.I just don't have the time to follow up on all of this.She didn't need to end up in this situation.

The staff are friendly, helpful and always greet me when I visit my uncle.
They have dealt with queries and assisted me with paperwork.
If they have any concerns, then they ring me.
My uncle has settled in well and is happy here.

Good care being shown in the relatively short time my mother has been a resident. They have good systems in place for monitoring her health and are quick to intervene if necessary. Follow ups have been done promptly. The home has a friendly atmosphere and the staff appear consistent and content in
their work. Cannot fault them.

From initial viewing, assessment to discharge, the whole team was friendly, kind, thoughtful and professional.
Any requests, e.g. a vase or ad hoc medication, were immediately satisfied.
The care staff were especially considerate of an elderly woman who was at times confused. They were very
patient, even when busy.
Thank you for the care provided.

My Aunt has been in Abbey Lodge for 2 years. In that time she has received very good care, I know she is safe and her specific needs are met. The Staff are very friendly and encourage her to take part in activities. The Chef is excellent with her dietary needs. Her medical needs are under
constant review and my concerns are always taken into account, I know she is getting good care.

Abbey lodge is friendly and the staff are welcoming and go above and beyond for their residents. The kitchen staff cook great food, and the home is always spotless and has a warm presence to it. Great activities and social events with PAT dog, Bonnie and visiting singers. Overall, a lovely home for
the residents.

Very good, attention to personal preferences is excellent. All carers are very competent, and you feel cared for.
My physical needs have been met with a bed and chair provided.

Since day one of arriving here, we have nothing but praise for the management and carers of the home. My partner as all her needs sorted in a professional high standard. Lovely room, lovely food, home set in a lovely area. We have high praise for this home. We would highly recommend to anyone

My wife and I have been in the Abbey Care Home for the last 4 years and have found the caring staff eager and keen to keep us in a way that they would like to be looked after. On the caring side, they need to help those who are unable to do their personal requirements, such as cleanliness and
toileting. Women who need these requirements may have to have a male carer to help them. And likewise, men having female carers.
With caring here, we have always experienced the best way possible. Our health is regularly monitored and attention taken should it be necessary. If you are looking for complaints, you can always find somebody that way. In the four years we have been here, our health and welfare have been very good, all down to human nature.

Mother was looked after by a very varing and professional staff, nothing was too much bother. She really enjoyed her outings, activities and entertainment during the day.
Towards the end, mother received excellent care, and we could not have asked for a better send-off.

We recently visited my Mum with one of our elderly relatives. She was very impressed with the care at Abbey Lodge. She has seen many care homes recently, but none of them came close to Abbey Lodge. She commented on how happy and healthy my Mum looked, probably the most relaxed since her stroke, 4
years ago. According to her, the best indictor of a well run residential home is that it doesn't matter when you visit, the residents are always looked after. It is very true about Abbey Lodge, as I arrive unannounced and the place is always clean and tidy and the residents are happy and cared for. Extra thanks to the activities organiser: flower arrangements, painting, bingo. So much fun and creativity!

Abbey Lodge took my sister on somewhat reluctantly because of her high dependency needs and inability to do things for herself. They have nevertheless settled her into the best routine that can be devised for her and she and the family are pleased with the improved care she is receiving compared
with her former situation.

I am leaving a negative but true review of my mums care. We placed my mum in Abbey Lodge because we trusted that they were able to care for her needs as she is suffering with Dementia. She was there for 6 weeks. It started okay, then she had a couple of occasions when she became agitated, upset and
tried to get out of the care home. I believe she had an argument with one of the carers. Shortly after this the manager served notice for my mum to be moved elsewhere instead of waiting to see if her medication increased by the GP helped my mum to settle. Think twice about placing your loved ones with dementia in Abbey Lodge as we never know to what level they will decline. Abbey Lodge claim to cater for residents with mild to moderate dementia, tragically dementia does progress and I don't believe they are capable of caring for residents with moderate levels and possibly not even mild cases. I believe they are only suited to cope with respite, residential or elderly residents.

Moved my Dad into Abbey Lodge a few days ago after a traumatic few months for him. Abbey Lodge was the final home that we visited and within a few minutes we knew that it was the place for Dad, the management and staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Dad was shown his bright comfortable
room with a fantastic sea view immediately and he was very happy indeed which was lovely to see.

Not knowing what to expect for two weeks in respite, I was pleasantly surprised. It was "heatwave" time, and the staff made every effort to make me comfortable. The bath was glorious!

After a long research and looking at care homes, we knew Abbey Lodge was the right place for my mum. It feels like "home". The staff are always happy, caring, smiling and ready to help. The manager and deputy manager are always ready to listen and assist with any enquiries. I am a person with high
expectations, and I'm not the easiest to deal with, but Abbey Lodge is a wonderful place, and I am very satisfied with their service. My mother has settled quickly and has been living a great quality life with the right support.
