View Full Details of Hawthorn ManorAll staff are caring, kind and treat all of the residents with the utmost respect and dignity. Since the manager and another staff member have been in charge of the home there have been many improvements including increased retention of staff and therefore less reliance on agency staff. This means that residents are able to get to know those who care for them and get used to seeing familiar faces each day.
I am so grateful that our dear Mum was placed in Hawthorne Manor when we could no longer care for her at home. All my fears of 'putting your Mum in a home' disappeared within a few weeks and my positive feelings about Hawthorn have remained 2 years later, and if anything, have increased since the new manager/deputy came into post in recent months. The staff are dedicated, caring, warm and efficient. I so appreciate the focus on relationships - every resident in this small care home is a valued individual - that is clear. I love the way they are with my Mum. I love the way they that include the family in all aspects of care. I love the creativity and energy of the activities team. Well done and THANKYOU to everyone at Hawthorne.
Mum moved in 2 months ago and we are so pleased with the care and facilities at Hawthorn Manor. Mum is happy, joining in with lots of activities - of which there are many - she feels safe and secure, she is well fed and thriving. She very quickly referred to her room as 'home', she loves the care staff and her routine, likes and dislikes are catered for. I visit on almost a daily basis, the staff are friendly, hard working and caring. The managers are always friendly, available and approachable, and receptive to any suggestions for residents wellbeing. We couldn't be happier with having Mum taken care of at Hawthorne Manor and feel very blessed to have found such a warm and welcoming home.
Staff are friendly and helpful although some of the newer staff sometimes need to be a little more aware of the needs of elderly people. Senior staff, both carers and management, are very helpful and do their best to help and make life as good as possible.
Dad has recently reached his 100th birthday. Unfortunately he is no longer able to feed or clean himself, but the staff take great care of him even if he doesn't always make their job easy. We are very grateful for the love and care they show him....knowing he's in safe hands is a great comfort.
I know that my Mum can be very difficult on occasions but I have never seen her dealt with in a way that is not loving, respectful and aimed at her needs. I value highly the relationship which I personally have with all of the staff, from carers to ancillary staff and the friendly welcome I receive from them all. I know that whenever I visit, they will always take the time to listen to any concerns that I have and have absolute confidence that action will be taken if needed. Mum has been a resident for several years - I now feel that the staff are a part of her family.
My aunt has been a resident here since 2019 and is very happy. She feels very much at home and the staff know her well. I am kept informed by the care staff who respond quickly if something needs attention. The care staff are very good and have my aunt's welfare as a priority. My aunt is treated with respect and I am sure she is in the right care facility.
A very homely place with amazing staff, my dear dad was only here from the end of June until October- but the care was excellent. The staff are all lovely, they were very fond of my dad and enjoyed the banter with him. I can happily recommend hawthorn manor to anyone. The only downside was not having a lift just a stairlift.
