View Full Details of Lady Nuffield HomeWe are incredibly happy with the support my father, who has Alzheimer's, is receiving in the Lady Nuffield. He has been in the home for 3 months and has been supported to settle in well. The activities programme is fantastic both in terms of variety, consistency and frequency of activities but also in terms of the normalising social activities such as gardening, and pimms, sparkling wine and strawberries for Wimbledon. He has been supported to swap rooms to one which better meets his needs and is able to still go out for lunch with friends. The garden and building are beautiful, the staff are friendly and the location is perfect. It's very reassuring to know he is active and happy. Thank you all!
My Mother is very happy and well looked after in The Lady Nuffield. There many interesting things for her to do or she can spend time in her own room. Knowing she is so well looked after and comfortable means that I am not constantly worried about her! Thank you
My mother has been beautifully looked after. The carers are kind, thoughtful and extremely skilled. She is so happy there. The activities are exciting ( poetry, visiting musicians, interesting animals and gardening).
My mother had a fall when she was out and about on her rolator in April. The care home staff at Lady Nuffield have been exceptionally kind, attentive and skilled In this difficulty time while she is recovering. The atmosphere is very warm and supportive, the newi manager seems to be excellent and well liked. I am very grateful to the staff for how they care for my mother.
My 90-year-old ma has lived at Lady Nuffield since April 2019. She would not have chosen to move into residential care but accepted the guidance of her longstanding GP and made the commitment to moving in on a permanent basis after having had 3 weeks of respite care at LNH following one in a long line of falls at home. She has found the LNH team to be warm, kind and - importantly - humorous. The carers are lovely with us as frequent visitors, too, and with one or two exceptions there have been few changes in personnel; the fact that of these there have been some returners, speaks for itself. We are so grateful to everyone who makes up this very special team, for helping Ma be as independent as possible with a safety net of kind consideration and care.
An excellent care home with loving, compassionate staff. They know my mother well and take the time to meet her individual needs. The activities team have a creative programme and works hard to include everyone. I would have no hesitation in recommending this home to others.
My Mother has been a resident at Lady Nuffield since October 2020. We have been impressed throughout by the excellence of the care and the friendliness and patience of the staff. The home also arranges a wide range of interesting activities for the residents during the week.
Last September (2022) I was wondering whether I should move into a care home before the winter, as I remembered that the previous winter I had thought that I couldn’t face another winter in my own home. At that time I was 93, partially sighted with age related macular disease and given to wobbling but not yet falling. When we arrived we were welcomed by the manager and shown to my room. At 12.30 I went down to the very nice dining room to join 16 of the other 28 residents for lunch. I soon discovered that there are lots of activities at Lady Nuffield Home. Every weekday there is something to do for about an hour each morning and afternoon. Activities include crafts, poetry reading, gardening, crosswords and board games, the last with sixth form students from St Edwards school. The staff are lovely and very caring, It’s always warm and cosy, and the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. If and when there is a crisis I feel sure I will be well cared for and my family will be less worried.
My mother has been a resident of the Lady Nuffield Home since December 2020. During this time she has been cared for with warmth and respect. It has given our family great comfort to know that she is safe and well looked after. The home's management have kept me fully informed of my mother's health and well-being and have gone to considerable trouble to accommodate her wishes (for example, enabling her to participate in Quaker meetings online). We are very pleased with our choice.
Our mother has been a resident at Lady Nuffield since October 2020. The staff could not have been kinder in welcoming her and getting to know her. There is a great range of activities and a lovely, caring atmosphere.
My mum is very settled and well looked after. She enjoys a wide range of activities from gardening to crossword club, outings (weather allowing) and personalised care. The staff are always welcoming, always have time and greet my mum by name, asking after family. When she has been poorly they have made sure she is seen by the local doctor and have helped her with having her eyes checked, regular hairdressing and podiatry are provided. My mum really enjoys the food and special events such as Autumn supper, St George's day supper as well as frequent birthday celebrations. Families of residents are always invited to join in and the home is an open and friendly place. I’m so pleased we found it!
My sister has been a resident since April 2022. As a family, we were anxious that the adjustment from her full independent life into a residential setting may prove to be problematic. However, over these last twelve months, the staff have been great and helped her make the transition journey as painless as possible. She now has confidence to be independent but is never afraid to ask for help if needed. She feels safe and secure which for us her family, is everything we can ask for. Many thanks to the team for their emotional, practical and caring support and understanding.
My Mother has been a Resident of Lady Nuffield Home for about three years. She is happy there and feels safe and well cared for. As a family, we find the care to be personalised, loving and of a very high standard. We feel known as a family and are always made to feel welcome. Our views and opinions are taken into account. Family members are welcome to join any of the many activities which run throughout the day and there are several suppers and social events throughout the year to which we are welcome. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Lady Nuffield Home to anyone considering this sort of care for a family member or friend.
My relative has lived at Lady Nuffield for more than four years now and we have been consistently impressed by the standard of care offered. The highlight would have to be the activities offered, not all to my relative’s taste of course, but those that are, are offered with enthusiasm and quality. Food is also reliably good, at least in my experience joining in as a visitor. But perhaps the most important aspect is the friendliness and availability of staff, some issues occasionally, especially at night, but generally excellent.
My mother has been a resident for over four years and during the whole of that time, which includes the Covid-19 pandemic I have been completely happy with the service provided and that includes the time when it was just difficult for us all due to Covid restrictions. Both the front-line staff and the administration have been helpful, and professional in both day-to-day contact with my mother and dealing with myself and my siblings. The quality of the accommodation is entirely satisfactory and the garden has been a joy to walk in. When originally searching for a location for my mother, I was struck that the home neither smelled of cabbage or urine and it had a certain bustling energy around the social facilities and that is still the case today. We could not have been more fortunate.
My cousin lived at the Lady Nuffield Home for a little over two years, from February 2020 to April 2022. The experience was perfect throughout. The Lady Nuffield staff cared for Jeff with great respect, warmth, and kindness throughout this time, always placing his needs as their top priority. They got to know him very well; they learnt about his colourful past; they coped with every medical problem and with any difficulty that he had, and they encouraged him to contribute his skills and knowledge to the benefit of other residents. He was happy and contented throughout his stay. And the staff all coped with the extra pressures of Covid and lockdown, taking these difficulties in their stride. Throughout his time in Lady Nuffield, we knew without any doubt that we had made the right decision - and if I had to find a care home for someone else today, I would select the Lady Nuffield again without a moment's hesitation. Thank you!
My mother was resident at Lady Nuffield Home from October 2019 and until her passing earlier this month. The level of care and kindness she received, benefitted from, and enjoyed was exceptional. This, and for almost the whole of the last year, against the difficult backdrop of the pandemic. The calm, friendly and wholly professional approach of all staff has been exemplary at all times. She enjoyed the activities and entertainment she chose to participate in, as well as the library and walking in the beautiful garden.
My mother has been a resident at the Lady Nuffield Home for just over 3 years. We live in New Zealand but we have visited Mum for a month at a time on a yearly basis (other than in 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions). On each of our visits, we were hugely impressed with the kindness, care and respect given by the staff to each of the residents. We visited Mum in the Lady Nuffield daily when we visited England and were always made to feel very welcome. We are also impressed with the enormous variety of activities provided for the residents to participate in as they wish. The activities include a wide range of activities that support the residents mental, physical, spiritual, creative well-beings. The Lady Nuffield certainly feels like a home, not an institution. From my experiences of my visits to the Lady Nuffield Home, I am hugely reassured that Mum has been and is in safe hands and, most importantly, she is happy there.
Our mother has only been at Lady Nuffield since October but my brother, my sister and I have already seen a substantial improvement in her wellbeing and calmness. She is being so well looked after both by the carers and the activities team. We have been so impressed by the consideration, solicitude and respect that she has been shown and also by the imaginative and thoughtful activities which are provided. We are very grateful to know that she is in such good hands, particularly during this difficult period of lockdown. Thank you, everyone!
I am so glad my mother found this home when she could no longer manage alone. The welcome was warm right from the beginning, and my mother felt that the community contained "real people" with whom she could interact. We have been very impressed with the activities offered by the home, which even continued during lockdown. The staff show a truly caring attitude, and welcome visitors too (except during lockdown). The food seems very adequate with a good choice of tasty dishes. Small touches like sherry on offer are much appreciated, as is the possibility to eat with my mother when we visit. The library contains a good range of books. I feel very reassured that my mother is well looked after, which is very important to me as I live in France and can't visit often. The recent newsletter is an extra bonus and helps us to feel more in touch with what is going on.
