Lady Nuffield Home

The past month has brought two highlights in terms of how the carers at Lady Nuffield help my 92-year-old ma retain her dignity and sense of self: firstly, by putting careful thought and creativity into helping her dress (as a retired lecturer in fashion construction & design, in the old days she wouldn't have dreamt of going out in mismatched jumper/socks, or without co-ordinating costume jewellery); secondly, by ensuring that her tablet is fully charged every night so that she is able to use LiveTranscribe (being profoundly deaf, this app is essential to her communication and helps her feel less isolated). We are deeply grateful for the whole team's commitment, sensitivity and skill.

The carer who helped me when I was very unwell was thoughtful, efficient and kind. At no time did she make me feel uncomfortable or a nuisance. I was so grateful to her.

There is always a lovely atmosphere of friendliness and warmth at the Lady Nuffield Home, which has welcomed my mother as a new resident in the last few days. The meals are delicious and nutritious, the home itself is cozy and tastefully decorated, and the staff are all so caring, helpful and warm. The home seems willing to accommodate any and all requests from residents and their families, however great or small, in its very successful mission to make the Lady Nuffield Home feel like home to each of its residents. Warmly recommended.

Lady Nuffield Home is where I am living now, and I feel very much at home. I have become fond of several people, carers and fellow residents and there is a general atmosphere of caring and warmth. interesting activities are provided and encouraged. I can watch wildlife and spend time in the beautiful garden, helping in the Gardening Club. It is an enriching experience for my old age.

We have been so happy to see mum being so welcomed into the Last Nuffield Home. The staff have been so professional, friendly and caring. The atmosphere has always been calm yet so full of life. We have no hesitation in recommending the home.

Two years ago my mother and her family made the very difficult decision to move her into The Lady Nuffield Home after a bad fall. Now, over two years after this move, I felt I very much wanted to write a review for the home - My mother could not feel happier, safer or better looked after. She has friends amongst both the staff and the residents. The atmosphere in the home is nothing short of inspiring. The Lady Nuffield home is a very happy place. My mother says 'It's like being back at university', because of all the wonderful activities.

The Lady Nuffield is outstanding for the quality of its care, with dedicated staff who stay for years and get to know the residents very well as individuals. The staff also receive training in specialised areas such as dementia care and are always ready to talk to relatives and help with specific concerns. The home is well- laid out with a lively airy dining room and gorgeous garden with safe places to walk and shady or sunny places to sit-- gardening club is a great favourite among the activities. The food is also excellent. My mother arrived recently and is already feeling calm and confident thanks to the tactful and individualised care and support. Highly recommended.

I am so delighted with the care my mother is receiving. She is really enjoying her new home. She loves the food and her new friends. She is also enjoying the wonderful programme of thoughtful activities. Thank you all!

I continue to be impressed by the level of care provided by the home. The staff are so kind and caring and make a real effort to meet the many differing needs of the residents. The programme of activities is excellent. The variety means there is something to suit every taste and each week there is something new. My mother often joins morning and afternoon events and I can see how much she benefits from this.

My mother has just started a month's Respite care /Trial period. She has been given a lovely sunny room, where we were able to bring in some of her favourite photos and items to make her feel at home. She loves the food, the garden and the kindness of all the staff. Visitors are always made to feel welcome.

Lady Nuffield home continues to provide excellent quality of life and care to my mother and the other residents. The manager, clinical lead and all the staff are excellent. They create a safe and home-like atmosphere with plenty of activities and fun In addition to great care.

The caregivers are attentive, patient and helpful. My mother in law is happy, and we are relieved that she is safe and well cared for. And lunches are delicious!

We are incredibly happy with the support my father, who has Alzheimer's, is receiving in the Lady Nuffield. He has been in the home for 3 months and has been supported to settle in well. The activities programme is fantastic both in terms of variety, consistency and frequency of activities but also in terms of the normalising social activities such as gardening, and pimms, sparkling wine and strawberries for Wimbledon. He has been supported to swap rooms to one which better meets his needs and is able to still go out for lunch with friends. The garden and building are beautiful, the staff are friendly and the location is perfect. It's very reassuring to know he is active and happy. Thank you all!

My Mother is very happy and well looked after in The Lady Nuffield. There many interesting things for her to do or she can spend time in her own room. Knowing she is so well looked after and comfortable means that I am not constantly worried about her! Thank you

The activities are exciting ( poetry, visiting musicians, interesting animals and gardening).

The activities team have a creative programme and works hard to include everyone. I would have no hesitation in recommending this home to others.

My Mother has been a resident at Lady Nuffield since October 2020. We have been impressed throughout by the excellence of the care and the friendliness and patience of the staff. The home also arranges a wide range of interesting activities for the residents during the week.

If and when there is a crisis I feel sure I will be well cared for and my family will be less worried.

My mother has been a resident of the Lady Nuffield Home since December 2020. During this time she has been cared for with warmth and respect. It has given our family great comfort to know that she is safe and well looked after. The home's management have kept me fully informed of my mother's health and well-being and have gone to considerable trouble to accommodate her wishes (for example, enabling her to participate in Quaker meetings online). We are very pleased with our choice.
