View Full Details of Spencer CourtStaff have always welcome us when we come to see sister. My sister has settled very well which is due to the staff. Management is always happy to answer any questions.
Amazing. If ever I have any questions staff always reassure me. Very helpful and accommodating with my nan. Everything positive with Spencer Court.
Brilliant, couldn't be more helpful for my mum.
We moved our mother to Spencer Court in February 2025 for emergency respite due to a rapid deterioration in her condition; she was subsequently diagnosed with dementia and became a resident of Spencer Court. A very stressful situation was made 1000% easier by the Spencer Court - the staff, the care and the accommodation itself. Immediately we knew our mum was in very good hands. The care second to none with the staff themselves viewing Spencer Court as a family. Lots of our mums' carers have been there for years. The staff were endlessly caring when our mother felt lost or distressed and knowing she was being looked after so well was a huge comfort to us all. We are now moving our mother to another part of the country to be closer to family and having now visited lots of other homes, Spencer Court remains at the top. I can't recommend it highly enough.
My mum came into care in August 2023. She was always treated with respect and kindness. She had falls and water infections we were always informed swiftly. In the past few weeks mum was very frail but always treated kindly and with respect. Her room was always clean and in the last weeks of her life staff fed her and dealt with all personal care. They gave us a room for us to use so mum was never on her own as her life slipped away.
My stay was respite care. The staff worked their socks off! Nothing was too much trouble. They were even good fun! Many patients are very poorly yet the staff take such great care with them.
Staff are brilliant, in particular two members of staff who really take care of Mum. The manager is a really positive Manager of the Residence who always listens with empathy. We're very glad Mum is there and looked after so well. It can't be an easy job but they are always smiling! Would strongly recommend.
I cannot fault the care given to Mum in her final year. She wasn't one to socialise as her mobility, sight loss and hearing were too much of an effort in those situations. She enjoyed the one-to-one visits from all the carers and staff, forming close relationships with many. The home did feel understaffed at times, difficult to take Mum out in the wheelchair as easily as initially expected.
Dad had been made to feel really welcome as the carers are kind, friendly and efficient. He has been treated with dignity and patience. He has enjoyed the food and his room is light and airy with a lovely view over the garden. The management and admin staff have been brilliant and gone the extra mile to help with Dad's care.
The service and care received are excellent. From the care home manager down, everyone has been so supportive and welcoming. My mother has gone from being fearful and anxious to completely settled in just a few weeks, amazing!
I feel so lucky to be here. The manager and all the staff, each and every one of them are so kind, so lovely and work so hard to look after us. I couldn't wish for a nicer place to be. I feel it really is my special home.
My husband has been in Spencer Court for slightly under two weeks. The care he has received in this short time has been kind, helpful and very understanding as he can get confused which distresses him. The staff help him with his daily needs and I am pleased and comforted to know this. Thank you all.
My mum entered an end-of-life path earlier this year and was fortunate to be able to see out her days at Spencer Court. The medical, care and emotional support from all the staff was exceptional. At a sad time, this brought me great comfort and relief. The whole situation could not have been handled any better. Thank you to everyone.
Spencer Court is such a wonderful place! It is clean, secure, well laid out and has a lovely garden. The rooms are a good size and en-suite and the food is excellent. It is, however, the staff who make it so special from the manager to all the carers and staff who help out. Everyone is so friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. My mother-in-law has settled in well and is really happy.
Granny was treated with compassion and love by the staff, they were like an extended family at the end. We as visitors were shown so much compassion in her final days. The staff went above and beyond for all of us. Thank you, staff!
You looked after Granny with care and humour when dementia came in and out. The facilities are great and I would not hesitate to recommend this care home for anyone in a similar position.
Despite my mother's negativity we as a family all agree that the care given goes above and beyond. We know through experience that Mum is a very challenging resident.
Lovely cheese and wine event to meet staff and other residents' families - all enjoyed it. Very good food and drink, excellent speeches by staff. Informal atmosphere made it inclusive for all. Great event.
My mother has been at Spencer Court now for almost one year (18th April). My mother has received excellent care. The support and care my mother has received has been exceptional. It is a clean, warm and welcoming home with wonderful staff. As she has dementia, I would like to receive individual feedback on a regular basis (with regard to her personal care, spirit activity etc.). I feel happy that my mother is safe and well looked after.
A professional team of carers that have a great rapport with all residents and families. If only all care homes could be as good as Spencer Court!
