View Full Details of Elizabeth CourtMum has been at Elizabeth Court since August 2024. Firstly for respite and then as a permanent resident. Mum is not a generally sociable person but was encouraged to join in the activities, particularly the Friday craft class and the visit of the local toddlers on Tuesday. She enjoyed both immensely. Mum developed pneumonia in June 2025 and was admited to hosptial. Mum has now been moved to a nursing home due to her ill health. Elizabeth Court's treatment of many was really helpful.
My mother had become isolated where she was living, and benefited from the friendship offered by other residents. She was fortunate to attend a wonderful 101st birthday party which was happening within the first week of her arrival. She was welcomed by all her care staff who seemed genuinely to enjoy her quirkiness. Every effort was made promptly to make her room feel like her home. I had peace of mind for the first time in ages, knowing that she was safe at night whenever she got out of bed. My whole family are so grateful to the home for allowing my mother back there after being discharged from hospital on palliative care. If they had not been able and willing to do this, either she may have died in hospital or been sent somewhere that may have been difficult for the family to visit. We were all able to visit her and say goodbye-there were so many family members who came. We were given the welcome and the space for this very important and significant day.
The staff are very caring. The bedroom was well provided. The security seems firm. During the heat wave the rooms were very hot, air conditioning in the bedrooms would be good.
I've been volunteering at Elizabeth Court for the past two years with my dog, Danny, and I can honestly say the staff are absolutely brilliant! Their care and dedication to the residents is clear in everything they do; they truly go above and beyond to ensure everyone feels happy and well looked after. Every visit is a joy; I always feel incredibly welcome. I also get to witness the wide range of engaging activities on offer and often catch the delicious aroma of the meals prepared by the chefs! (and get to try the very tasty homemade cupcakes). It's a wonderful place, and I'm so glad to be a part of it!
My uncle came to Elizabeth Court after a bad fall at home. The staff on his floor were very good and encouraged him to come out of his room. One in particular has worked wonders with him he seems happy and content no complaints. All the carers and workers are all very helpful and kind couldn't ask for more.
Our dear dad was at Elizabeth Court for just over 18 months before he sadly died this Christmas. A lovely home with a big welcome, we always felt like it was a big extended family. The staff always greeted you by name, with offering tea and biscuits and there was always a hug and comfort offered if needed. Dad had dementia and Parkinson's so was heavily reliant on the staff for every day living. They always treated him with respect and in turn he rewarded them with one of his smiles or a thumbs up. We as a family will be forever grateful for the care and love they showed to us. A big thank you.
Mum went into Elizabeth Court in April this year. After a short period of settling in she is now happy, comfortable and very well looked after. The staff are very caring, attentive and always ready to help in any capacity which gives me complete peace of mind.
Mum has been at Elizabeth Court for just over a year. Whenever I visit, the staff are always welcoming and know who know who I am. I like that there are planned activities and outings that mum is encouraged to join in and we are invited to as well. I like the 'extended family' atmosphere. Most importantly mum appears content and comfortable.
My husband who has Alzheimer's and dementia was discharged from the hospital having had pneumonia into Elizabeth Court, originally for two weeks. However, he was cared for so well and he was clearly happy and settled that we decided that this was a good place for him to be. All the carers are kind and very caring and treat him as an individual. There are many activities and every effort is made to make sure that the residents are happy and content. I would thoroughly recommend the home to anyone who wants their loved one to be cared for as they would be in a loving homely environment.
My mother went to Elizabeth Court because she had dementia and was struggling to live at home after my dad died. The care home were fantastic. They really supported us as a family to get my mum installed and treated her with kindness and respect. My mum wasn't easy as the dementia had taken away her social skills but the carers understood this and worked hard to understand her more. She had also got to the point where she didn't like washing, but they tackled this firmly and kindly and helped her to look presentable which we appreciated. Sadly my mum passed away unexpectedly; the care home dealt with this as well as we could have asked them to. I would recommend this care home to others.
My mother initially went for respite and will now continue to stay. Everyone without exception has been as kind and supportive to my mother and to me offering advice at this difficult time. Thank you. Elizabeth Court always looks inviting and has such a friendly atmosphere - the food always looks and smells delicious. The activities programme is varied and interesting. The relief of knowing she is safe is so very reassuring. Thank you again.
We as a family have been very happy with the care that has been provided for our mother. Our mum has taken part in many activities singing, dancing, puzzles, planting beans, church services and watching films about D-Day. All the staff have been amazing keeping is informed with her daily routine. I have been nearly every day and have got to know some of them very well and happy to ask questions and just talk about the day. The staff are always smiling and happy (these are mum's words and lovely food as well)
Happy here, well cared for.
Always a welcoming smile when you arrive, and a nice bit of banter from the staff. They all interact well and are always cheerful. Mum seems happy and we don’t have any worries with the home. I would recommend it, maybe I’ll be there in a few year's time. Thanks guys.
My mum has been resident for several years. The staff are shining stars of Elizabeth Court. They are kind and most of all they are caring of their residents and treat them with respect. I would recommend Elizabeth Court to anyone who has a loved one that needs a lot of extra care.
My family member moved to Elizabeth Court in November 2023 and thanks to all the amazing staff she has settled in so well. Whenever we visit she is always happy and looks well cared for. We have recommended Elizabeth Court to lots of people.
The staff at Elizabeth Court are wonderful. They have consistently treated both my mum and my family with kindness, empathy and respect. They have encouraged my mum to build on her interests and to actively engage in these, in the home, which in turn has increased her confidence and sense of personal achievement. I honestly don't know where we would have been without them!
After Covid my mother was diagnosed with vascular dementia, living at home no longer became sustainable. As an independent individual, the last thing my mother wanted was to leave her own home. After several attempts and subsequent escapes, she moved into Elizabeth Court. The staff made her feel safe and cared for through a deep sense of compassion, professionalism and buckets of humour. When returning to Elizabeth Court from recent hospital visits my mother always felt she was returning home. Our family feel an enormous amount of gratitude to all the staff at Elizabeth Court.
Realising that on discharge from hospital your father will not be able to return home is a shock. You are placing him in the hands of the unknown as he will need a care home. It is a difficult time. Thankfully we found Elizabeth Court. Our fears are allayed by an excellent, friendly, and knowledgeable team led by a formidable and very professional manager and deputy manager. My father is happy. He is well looked after and is building a really good rapport with the staff and management, and meeting other residents. To everyone at Elizabeth Court a very big thank you.
From my first phone call, I knew this was going to be the place for my mother-in-law. Extremely helpful, arranged an assessment later in the afternoon at the hospital and called later in the afternoon to confirm they would be able to meet all her needs. Every member of staff has been welcoming which made my mother-in-law settle in very quickly. She has really enjoyed her 6 weeks at Elizabeth Court and made many friends. Physical and healthwise has greatly improved which has allowed her to return to her own home.
