Although there is a lot of residents there, all with different and more severe needs than my mother she has always been treated well and seems to enjoy the variety of activities and entertainment that is provided.
Mum, Hazel, moved to Kingsleigh in February 2024. She settled in very quickly and, as much as she can, has enjoyed the life, the company and the warm environment. What stands out for me and my family when we have visited mum is the utter professionalism and positivity of the staff. I find their approach to dealing with residents awe-inspiring. Never have I heard anything sarcastic or patronising being aimed at a resident. And this despite what I imagine cannot always be easy situations. Sure, Kingsleigh is looking a bit tired but that really doesn't matter when the atmosphere is so good
Everything seems ok , mum seems ok, difficult to know when she can't hear me and I have to shout all the time , even though she says she is charging her hearing aids, She's a little bit confused about days but considering her age , that's not bad at all. She doesn't seem to want to join in with any thing any more, again her age. However , all the staff seem to know this and try to encourage her but leave her if she's adamant that she's ok where she is. She seems a bit reluctant to ask anyone for anything and likes to wash herself, rather than being helped but salary from that she seems ok and knows that she is having soft food for her choking, even though she knows she needs it
I cannot speak highly enough of the care and compassion shown at Kingsleigh. From the moment you walk through the doors, there is a genuine sense of warmth and welcome. The staff are not only professional and attentive, but they go above and beyond to make residents feel valued, respected, and truly at home.
Mum has settled really well there. Staff all lovely and caring.Always a lovely welcoming feeling when visiting. Love the activities that are put on for the residents and sometimes their families. Very homely feeling. I leave after visiting mum feeling happy that she is being cared for and looked after. Well done everyone you are well appreciated. Thank you Sandra & family
A very caring home which are always looking to provide more than just the basic care. They try to provide different things to stimulate the people in the care home by way of having performers and functions in the home. The home always looks clean. The colleagues there try and spend time with individuals also.
Everyone of the staff are caring, helpful and treat mum with respect and kindness, nothing is to much bother. The entertainment and activities are second to none and provide great fun and simulation. Also the staff are always great with members of the family.
After decades of living with dementia Mum has been bedbound since Covid but is cared for with dignity and respect. The staff are friendly and professional and her comfort and environment are constantly checked and evaluated so her slow decline is managed without distress. Huge thanks to everyone.
Absolutely first class caring attentive supportive always ready to give advice treating the residency if they their own family the food is absolutely fantastic. Staff will drop what they're doing at a drop of a hat. The entertainment is fantastic. Always coming up with new ideas.
I was very impressed with the atmosphere between residents and staff, and care my Mum received at Kingsleigh Care Home, the only reason Mum had to move is that she required a Nursing Placement as naturally her health conditions got worse as she aged. For a client with Dementia the activities and engagement side of care was excellent, and quality of care for clients at the latter stages of their life enriching. My Mum thought she was on holiday, as the entertainment was so good. The local football team even supported the residents with chair based keep fit activities. Thank you to the staff for your care, not always an easy job to do but rewarding. They had a very good local GP and Health support staff who regularly visited and as I was living far away always updated me on health conditions.
Have had my mum here for over a year and have had nothing but a positive experience. Management and Care staff go above and beyond with communication from the home being outstanding. There are always loving activities going on around the home and mum is taken out often to visit the local amenities.
The home is clean and the carers do their best as they have many residents with different needs. There are many areas for residents to sit and socialise. There are lots of activities provided. We are always welcome as visitors at any time, but the staff are hard to find during weekends.
BRILLIANT - Staff and all the team have made 100% sure my Aunt has settled in and actually have improved her Physical and mental well being - she is back to my Aunt of 5 years ago.!! Nothing is too much trouble, They always have time for a smile and talk with her. In her words " the best thing i could have done" after living alone for four years . They always keep the family fully informed and involved.
Mum is coming up to 98 and in need of 24 hour care. She's lived in Kingsleigh for a year now and is healthier and happier since being there. The staff are fabulous and she loves them. It's a relief for me knowing that she is so well cared for.
My Dad has been at Kingsleigh since October 24. The whole team are very friendly and helpful and made my Dad feel very comfortable from the start. They make every effort to accommodate him and keep him happy. Dad is very active and he is often accompanied on a walk or taken out for a walk. Kingsleigh have frequent entertainment that really helps to occupy him. The care goes above and beyond expectation and we are very grateful to the staff for looking after him so well.
I'm so impressed with the staff and opportunities that my dear friend has at Kingsleigh. Sadly she was no able longer to live alone and I was impressed with this care home from the start. Lovely clean rooms with great facilities. Everyone is always keen to help and my friend seems happy and content. Her live has much more variety now and she loves getting up for a regular dance. Two staff members in particular do such an amazing job at entertaining the residents. Thank you Kingsleigh for taking a weight off my mind.
I'm extremely pleased with the care mums is provided with. The staff are very enthusiastic and caring. The entertainment is very good and the residents can sing and dance which is fantastic. Mum is always clean and happy and that is all we can ask for.
Dad moved into Kingdsleigh from hospital. The home manager and the team were reassuring and helpful. We as a family always felt Dad was well cared for. All the carers know him and the familiarity always seemed to settle Dad.
The activities staff put in so much effort for the residents. The open-door policy for resident's families to get involved I think is great. The team leaders are excellent with communication regarding their family members.
Mum has been a resident for over two years and is a lot better looked after than when she had carers at home. I like the idea that it's her home and we can visit any time. Mum is hard of hearing so lives in a quiet world. She needs to be encouraged to join in the activities so I am very pleased when I see her on Facebook joining in. All the staff are excellent.
