View Full Details of Filsham LodgeUnfortunately my husband has now had to go on puréed foods, which I was dreading. What a surprise when the food arrived all decorative shapes and well presented. Congratulations to the company for making puréed food a "work of art" on a plate! Thank you.
Although my dad has only been here a while, I have found the premises to be clean, staff friendly and welcoming. I'm updated on his situation at all times, quickly and informed of everything. The food has looked good and smells divine, and appears to be plenty of it on offer; he appears to enjoy it. I can't say anything about activities as I have not been there when any are in progress. So far, he appears to have settled here fairly quickly and is as happy as he can be
My experience of the home now is clean and tidy. Decorated in the manor of a care home, inviting, pleasant just like our own home would be. Things of interest, lots of look at and do. Activity wise, seems to be person-centred activity's.
Staff always friendly and polite. Greeted at door on arrival and made to feel welcome. Clean and tidy environment and residents seem settled and happy. Residents room kept and cleaned to a high standard.
We are so thankful for the care provided at Filsham Lodge. The staff show wonderful care and support, all with a smile. Any questions or queries are no bother to answer. Very impressed with the information logged on all residents and it's great to see them all enjoy tea and cake!
The care my son has received is good but the home is not suited to a young stroke patient. The room was very small with no en-suite. He needed physio which was difficult to achieve satisfactory results in such a restricted area.
My partner although he was only in Filsham Lodge a few months before his passing, the care and attention given to him from all the staff involved in his care was excellent, nothing was too much trouble, all aspects of his care were given lovingly by the staff. The home was always clean and tidy. I could not have wished for a better home for my partner to be cared for in. I want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for everything they did for him and myself as you all made what was a very difficult time for me so much easier to bear. Thank you so very much.
There is much kindness and care here. My relative is settled and content even though her advanced dementia makes it difficult for her to understand or communicate. There is always a warm welcome for me and I feel supported and communication is good.
Our mum has been a resident at Filsham Lodge for just over a year. She has received kindness and respect from all the staff. Whilst suffering from Dementia means she is unable to communicate fully they make sure she is comfortable and present in the general day to day life. The snacks and meals provided look balanced and tasty. The communication between family and the team is fair and open, such that if there are any concerns I am able to raise them to get resolutions.
Mum has been at Filsham Lodge for 2 years and has responded well, despite her complex and challenging needs, to the kindness and professionalism shown by all staff in their different roles. She is well cared for, with various emerging issues resolved along the way. We are always contacted, consulted and kept informed about her health needs and any incidents.
Mum was well cared for by all the staff she went to Filsham very quickly as she was not able to look after herself so needed to be safe and cared for as she was living alone but needed more support. She had a lovely room which was very comfortable for her. The staff were very supportive of her and myself.
The staff of Filsham Lodge cared for my husband for nearly three years until his death in July. This included the period covered by the Covid pandemic. They were very caring and compassionate, and I was very happy with the home.
My husband transferred to Filsham Lodge due to him requiring nursing care. From day one of his stay with you I only had admiration for the care he received. He was treated with dignity and respect and although not able to converse in his last few days, he was given individual treatment for his needs. The G.P. was called in as soon as it was necessary. Nothing was too much trouble. We as a family, wish to thank you all for your love and care shown to us. God bless you all.
From the time my husband was admitted into Filsham Lodge until his very last day their care and support were absolutely outstanding. The Nurses couldn’t have done enough for him and the carers made it a pleasure to visit him even when times got tough. Our family are so grateful for the time they allowed us at the end to be with him. Would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of a 5-star nursing home.
My husband has stayed twice at Filsham Lodge so far for Respite Care. He has mild dementia and was understandably apprehensive first stay. The nursing team were very welcoming and he soon settled and enjoyed his time there. He had excellent care and they continued his home routine enabling continuity. The second time he stayed he looked forward to his stay and seeing the nurses again allowing me to have a break without worrying about him.
Mum had to go straight into care on the day our dad passed away and it was, without doubt, the most horrendous and totally overwhelming day for my brother and me. On arrival, we left our dear mum in the welcoming and understanding hands of the team. Sadly Mum was only in their care for 4 months before passing away this month. Care homes often receive negative press, but all I can say is that in our experience, the whole team (and I really do mean the whole team) were exceptional. Mum was treated with care, compassion and dignity. We were treated compassionately and received tremendous support. It's a very demanding job in normal times, but it's exceptionally demanding at the moment, however, nothing was too much trouble when we called to speak to Mum and on the occasions that we were allowed to see Mum in the welcoming Covid-secure area, all team members always seemed happy and there was a positive, cheery atmosphere. Thank you all for everything that you did for Mum.
My mum has been residing at Filsham Lodge since February following a couple of falls and the onset of dementia. My wife and I had viewed other homes but none seemed to have the homely feel that Filsham did. The staff all appeared happy to be there, as did the residents who all looked clean and well cared for. The recent lockdown had made visiting impossible, but the management team went to great lengths to come up with a solution to the problem. It entails the temporary placement of a clear screen which is situated at the end of the entrance hallway. The whole area is cleaned before and after each visit and the visitor's temperature is also taken. They have certainly gone to a lot of effort to make visiting our loved ones possible, not to mention all the trekking around they do with a telephone in-between times. The bottom line is that it gives me great peace of mind to know that mum is being very well cared for and that I'll be notified if there are any problems or concerns. Keep it up.
Over the course of three years, my father spent time in a few different care homes as his illness sadly deteriorated and Filsham Lodge was the last. He was miserable in all of them except for Filsham Lodge and when I went to see him, it was clear why. Every member of staff from the management to the doctors, nurses and care staff were professional, kind, caring, sensitive and always offered a smile with a happy disposition. In all of the other care homes I've been to, the staff were (perhaps understandably) pretty noticeably miserable. The whole experience at Filsham was made so much better because the staff's optimism and friendly dispositions elevated the mood. I will forever be grateful for what the manager and her staff did for my father. Thank you.
Staff caring, fluid and nutrition well promoted. Good support and communication with residents and families.
Dad has really settled in well. Everyone is friendly and welcoming to all visitors especially to his 10-month-old great grandson and older brother with cuddles, juice, cakes always being offered, just like home! Improvements are constantly being made, lately, a gazebo, potted plants, and hanging baskets have been put outside the lounge which Dad loves to sit out in and chat with the other residents. It's a pleasure visiting, seeing him happy, well looked after and too well watered and fed as he would say. The staff are lovely, lots of different characters all adding that personal touch. Couldn't ask for more.
