View Full Details of Roselands Care HomeMy late mother's dear friend has been a resident at Roselands since May 2025. Having spent a few weeks in another care facility, she was barely getting out of bed. On arrival at Roselands, she was 'walked' to the toilet (absolutely amazing as she had spent so long in bed previously), and was then taken to the dining room for lunch. Such a difference. Since then, she gets up and dressed and spends the best part of the day in the day room with the other residents. The food is very good indeed and I am also furnished with sandwiches and tea if I arrive during tea time. The staff are friendly, genuinely caring, and tend to her every need. Wonderful. Thank you Roselands.
I have no complaints at all; my mum is very well cared for. I can visit anytime I want. Mum is always clean, as is her room. The carers are friendly and approachable. They do a lot of activities, but unfortunately, mum will not join in. They make birthdays special.
My father-in-law is very happy with the home and has completely forgotten his own home, even though we had so much trouble getting him to leave because of his ill health and falls. He likes the staff, cleanliness, activities, food and being so well looked after. Any medical problems are dealt with promptly, and we are kept informed of any progress. We try to see him at least once a week, so we know if he has any grievances, which are nil. He has been there since December 2023.
Mum is cared for by wonderful, kind and friendly carers. She is listened to and reassured when she is feeling confused. Her family are welcomed when they visit and we all feel she is well looked after. Roselands is a very homely place and the residents are treated with dignity and respect. There are plenty of activities and entertainment arranged along with outings to local amenities. We are very happy with the Care Home and the way it is managed.
Wonderful care here. Nice staff, who are always smiling and attentive. There are lots of activities inside and outside the building. Lovely environment. Best home we have ever experienced. We feel so lucky to have found Roselands!
All the staff are excellent here. They are very caring with all the residents. The food is very tasty, and they are very accommodating with relatives and visitors. The home goes over and beyond to be helpful and make my mum's stay and my visits enjoyable. The activities which are arranged daily are fun and very inclusive. The rooms are clean and the gardens are lovely.
We appreciate the genuine concern and care given to mum. Living a long way away it is difficult, but communication is great and a vid call with mum is facilitated with a smile We visited last year and were very pleased with the cleanliness of the home, and staff kindness toward mum and us
Dad has settled there now, thanks to the commitment of the staff. He is enjoying the activities, especially going out in the minibus and the visits from the animals. It gives me great peace of mind that he is safe and cared for as I live so far away.
Roselands has fabulous staff who treat residents with kindness and dignity. Although the number of residents each staff must care for is a bit higher than I would like, the care offered is of a good standard. The activities offered for residents who choose to participate are excellent. The rooms are of good size. The only area that really needs improvement is the food. Although there is plenty of it with 3 meals plus snacks and tea breaks, it seems carb heavy and could benefit from fresh vegetables. That said, the birthday cakes are spectacular. Sadly, the cost is rising at an alarming rate, ( more than 10% a year for the last 3 years). Nevertheless, I am trying to keep my mother here because I feel that the staff genuinely care - a vocation as well as a profession. For that reason alone, I would recommend Roselands.
Our family would like to say a massive thank you for looking after our dad. His stay was short but the care and attention he received was a credit to everyone. The home is homely, which for us was lovely. Nothing was too much trouble. Management and all staff were amazing. Thank you for making our dads stay a comfortable one. We would highly recommend Rosewell
My Mum has been a resident at Roselands for over 2 years . We are absolutely delighted with all the support and care my Mum has received. She has absolutely flurrished since she has been there which is all down to the fantastic, caring, friendly staff we couldn't ask for anything better .
Both of my parents suffer with Alzheimer's and dementia and have been in care at Roselands. From the day they went in I felt that the staff understood there needs and provided the care they required which only deepened as they got to know them and their own idiosyncrasies. My father passed away in their care and I felt he was treated with dignity and respect throughout the deterioration to his health and eventually his death
Overall this is a good care home I think . It is clean and facilities are good . Also the entertainment is great. There were a few issues regarding the food when mother was first there but I think she is fairly happy and she knows if she asks they will do their best for her , the staff are always kind to her which is very important. Sometimes her laundry gets lost in system but that is usually rectified . There were a couple of times when mother was given the wrong medication, someone else's drugs which is worrying . Mother has all her faculties still so she knew they were wrong but if she'd had dementia that could have been disastrous.
Thankyou Roselands, we continue to be very happy with the care that you provide for our relative. She has lived with you for 1 year now and she is so happy and content. She is comfortable warm, clean and very well fed, who wants for more? The transition to living and being cared for was so smooth and the best thing we could have wished for. Professional and caring, so friendly.
I can't tell you in words how extremely satisfied I am with the care & compassion that all the staff are giving Mum. The Manager & Deputy Manager are so lovely, very approachable & their door is always open. All the staff are very caring, professional & nothing is too much trouble. There is one older member of staff that is like a little pocket rocket, so much fun to be around. Unfortunately Mum is bed bound so can't partake in any of the varied activities that she would have loved. As soon as we stepped foot in Roselands we thought hand on heart that this was the place for Mum. Mum has been in Roselands 3 yrs & turned 100yrs in October which is a true testament to the care that Mum is receiving. I cannot recommend this Care Home enough
In my experience I've always found Roselands great with communication, have the best interests of residents in mind, great staff and plenty of activities/trips going on. There is definitely a good team of people that work well together and it shows in the level of care for residents.
Since mum has been a resident at Roselands she has changed as a person, she is happier and more relaxed, she smiles more and keeps saying how nice the carers are. I cant fault the communication and the home is clean and always welcoming. Mum particularly likes the entertainment and having some banter with the staff. All in all we couldn't have wished for a better place for her to spend her later years..
All staff are helpful, friendly but I think overworked. The menu and quality of food could be improved. Laundry still a bit hit and miss, even though items are labelled clothes go missing. Entertainment is good, something happening most days. Visiting is very flexible.
Roselands is always very clean and professionally run. The staff are wonderful, caring, considerate, and supportive and I feel my dad is very safe and happy. My favourite part is that he gets to go out on trips for coffee and cake rather than just sitting in a room with 4 walls. Alternatively, when he is in the home he has the opportunity to interact with others by playing bingo or being entertained with gentle fitness sessions or visiting acts. If he had been left in his own house he would just have fallen asleep and been lonely, neither of which is advisable for onset Alzheimer's.
I am a friend of the occupant and Power Of Attorney. I am very impressed with the care and safety at Roselands. The staff are extremely polite and helpful.
