View Full Details of Place Farm HouseA massive thank you to the manageress and all her wonderful team for the exceptional level of care they all gave our Mum . We initially arranged respite for our Mum to recover from radiotherapy and she was warmly welcomed by everyone. Our Mum felt at home in the beautiful surroundings and enjoyed all the amazing hospitality and personal attention. Sadly after a couple of weeks we received some devastating news and our Mum's care needs changed almost overnight . The kindness and support our family received from all the staff was exceptional with the reassurance to provide continuance of care for our Mum . Despite not being registered as a nursing home Place Farm House went above and beyond to give our Mum the best possible care in her final days. The manager worked alongside the palliative care team and pulled out all the stops to meet our Mum's care needs which allowed her to remain in her homely surroundings for her end of life care. We are eternally grateful to everyone
I can't recommend Place Farm Care home enough. We had to make a tough decision on finding a care home for my mum while my dad was in hospital for 3 months. From the very start of walking into Place Farm, it wasn't like a care home that I'd seen before, it was more like a 5* hotel with care. The rooms are beautifully decorated & have all the call buttons required & amenities. The staff were/are amazing & very attentive to each residents needs. One of the night carers was one of my mums favourite carers & a big shout out to her on how she was with all the residents. The manageress was/is also so lovely & even when I had a tough time over the whole situation, she was there with tissues, a cup of coffee & listened to my concerns about the situation I was personally going through, such kindness shown in such a stressful situation. All in all a lovely place for any resident & complete peace of mind for relatives, I can't recommend Place Farm highly enough. Thank you to everyone
I enjoy my stay at the home. Felt well supported whilst not feeling well the time. Staff were excellent. Considerate to my needs, nothing was too much trouble.
The team at Place Farm House were exceptional! They catered for my mother in law when she needed respite care. We were able to relax and take care of my father in law, knowing she was in safe hands. The home was so clean and modern, great food and nothing was too much trouble. My mother in law met new friends and was able to take part in activities. We built up a good bond with staff and we were always welcomed with a cup of tea or coffee. Thank you so much to the manager and the team for all your support and understanding!
I was in room 20 and my only criticism is that 1) the shower controls are outside the cubicles and therefore dangerous to turn off the water on ones own, as I was. 2) I was unable to obtain 2 channels on my TC receives, namely 20 + 56.
Mum stayed almost a month for respite care during which time the staff cared for her with amazing kindness and made her feel safe and well cared for, nothing was too much trouble, from the cleaners, kitchen staff, carers and management. As a family we were made very welcome. I can highly recommend Place Farm House.
Place Farm House was the perfect place for my mum convalescence. The kindness exceptional care and comfort was amazing. All facilities were spotless and communal areas were well maintained. There was always a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Mum commented on how wonderful the food was at all times and how accommodating the chef was to her dietary need. A huge thank you to your dedicated team at place farm house I couldn't have wished for any more for mum.
I was well looked after from all staff. Will recommend to anyone I know who is in the same position as me. A big thank you to you all.
I want to tell you that I feel the residential care home is marvellous. The staff are wonderful. They can't do enough for you. The food is wonderful, with a choice of meals. There is a good choice of activities.
Feel so safe and well looked after! Best place ever!
My mother is in Place Farm House for short term respite care due to a fall she had over Christmas. We have found the experience to be first class. The staff are amazing, so caring , supportive, helpful and attentive. The facilities are excellent. It is a beautiful residential home. She is very happy here and is recovering nicely. Thank you to everyone for your support.
I cannot recommend Place Farm enough. All of the staff genuinely care for all the residents, as well as treating the residents with respect, dignity and lots of humour. The home puts on a range of activities, including word games, bingo, Play Your Cards Right, trips to the local coffee shop, church, garden centre, and trip to the local drama show. They encourage residents if they want to be included in activities but are not pushy. Cannot recommend this home enough for your relatives/friends enough.
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. I feel rested and confident to go home.
We had a big decision in August 2024 when my dad felt he couldn't look after himself any longer. It was a hard transition in the first couple of weeks, all the staff have been lovely, so patient and caring and always up for a bit of banter (which Dad loves). He's settled in and is now starting to join in activities and trips, make friends and leads a more fulfilling life. Importantly, he has his own room when he needs a bit of space and quiet time to himself. The food has been amazing and every effort has been made to encourage Dad to eat to improve his health. There has always been someone I can have a chat with when needed about Dad's health. I'm so pleased we found Place Farm and the wonderful, caring, calm and fun staff. A big thank you to everyone.
I have had connections with Place Farm House for over ten years, firstly, care for my beloved aunty and now my precious mum. I have never had any anxiety or concerns that the care was, is, ever less than 100%. The staff always engage with any worries or questions I have with kindness and respect. Leaving one's most dear family members is the hardest decision and I will be forever thankful to Place Farm for making this transition.
Place Farm House, what a wonderful place for people to recuperate from an illness or long-term care. The staff are very friendly and supportive. Management excellent and provided guidance and support when needed. Even when undergoing renovation work the home was spotlessly clean. Great place to stay.
Feeling anxious about entering a care home, my fears were dispelled by such welcoming staff, comfortable bed, lovely food and the atmosphere that surrounds you at Place Farm House. Cheerfulness and so caring. I would come back. Grateful thanks to all the staff, you have been amazing.
Very happy with the care I receive and comfortable and clean. Food really good. Staff excellent, always there when needed.
All the staff at Place Farm House are wonderful and go about their work with diligence, patience and humour. They’re all so calm and nothing is too much trouble. My dad was there for five years and always referred to it as his 'home'. He enjoyed his food and a chat and I’m pleased to say that at Place Farm House he thoroughly enjoyed the home-cooked food and staff have the time and inclination for a good old conversation. He did not want for anything in terms of the facilities, he was comfortable and entertained, either through the home run activities/excursions (varied and fun), the TV in his room, reading on his tablet, and chats with staff and other residents. His heart's desire was to end his days at Place Farm House and following a few days of Palliative care this came to be. The staff were just amazing during this time with input and medical care from a local hospice. We are so very grateful. He was in his bed, in his room, in his home.
Just to say what a very pleasant time I had here and how wonderful the staff were. I must have been a pain at times, demanding this and that. I'd recommend anyone to have a stay here. I shall be dropping in to say 'hi' to them in the future and meet up with all the patients whom I got to know very well. So all the best to everyone, regards and love.
