View Full Details of Vallance Residential Care HomeCan not fault the care and consideration this care home have shown my husband, in what might have been an altogether more difficult transition for us all. They are thoughtful and caring and have helped us both adjust.
A very friendly and welcoming home. The staff are lovely, always cheerful with a laugh and a smile with the residents. My godmother is very happy at Vallance Residential Care Home and it is fabulous to know she is well cared for.
The care my dad receives is outstanding. The food is good and they are always doing activities. It is spotlessly clean. There is a warm, friendly atmosphere. They sometimes take them out. Dad often says to me: You couldn't have picked a better home for me!
Whilst staff were kind and helpful whilst my dad was resident, it has become clear that there was some failings in basic care during his stay. This relates particularly to taking time to ensure his dentures were properly cleaned, removed and replaced daily. We had been reassured that this would be undertaken daily when he was admitted into the care home from hospital but sadly it was not. This resulted in the dentures being lost and never found. (Lots of clothing also went missing during his 6 week stay). Once my father left the home communication has been very poor with calls and emails being ignored.
Upon visiting on behalf of my husband, I had a very good and positive feeling for the care home. Being a smaller home, they can offer more personalised care and support. It is very homesly and offers comfortable surroundings. The staff are all very pleasant and friendly and provide a high level of care. The freshly prepared meals are wholesome and tasty and varied regularly. A good range of activities are on offer, and residents are encouraged to join in when they wish. I am very happy to have chosen here for my husband, and he is settling in and comfortable.
From day one, the management and staff have been very caring, kind and professional. Covid management is very thorough and effective and carried out safely. All medical issues are addressed promptly and efficiently. Communications with the home are stress-free, quick and always friendly. The manager is excellent and the staff are so helpful, happy and kind. I feel we are extremely lucky for Dad to be so well cared for at Vallance. He has improved in his health and happiness beyond expectation. Thank you so much.
I have known of Valance Care Home professionally since 2020 and personally for the past 18 months since my mother became a resident. Valance provides a high standard of care and support taking into consideration the overall holistic, emotional and psychological needs of my mother and provides a very person-centred approach to her care. All staff are extremely friendly and have a good understanding of her needs as an individual. I am always kept informed of any changes in her needs, health and well-being and no stone is left unturned in supporting her and improving her quality of life. My mother is very happy at Valance and speaks well of the staff and care she receives. The manager at Valance is very professional and caring and goes out of her way to support my mother, as does her team of carers and I can not recommend this home enough. Valance has faced difficult times during Covid and despite this, has had no outbreaks of infection.
Very friendly. Home from home. Very accommodating.
Mum is very settled at Vallance and she is very well looked after. Any health problems are picked up on by staff very quickly and are then dealt with very competently and sympathetically. She has little jobs to do around the home on a regular basis and joins in with the various activities that are laid on every day or week.
The care my sister receives is very good. She feels at home and is cared for very well.
My Mother moved into Vallance in February this year. I could not be happier with her care. She has a lovely room and I can see she is loved by all the staff. I worried very much that moving her into care at such an advanced age (92) and after many years of independence would lead to an inevitable decline. Quite the opposite has happened. She is blooming!
My mother in law suffers from vascular dementia and still thinks she will return 'home' at some point. Experience has shown this would not be practical or safe. Other than that, she is content at the home. She is always clean and well dressed. All the carers are kind and friendly. She is well looked after and better off and healthier now at the home.
The Vallance seems to be a good care home. My brother lives there and he is well looked after. He eats well, has his medication managed well, is kept clean and presentable. He chooses not to participate in activities, but I think the home could try harder to persuade him to join in. When he has disagreements with the staff, they tell me and it is always caused by my brother being unreasonable. I think he is happy there.
My mum has been very happy at Vallance for many years. The staff are very friendly and go out of their what with residents and visitors. I've been especially impressed by the efforts staff go to on special days like birthdays, Christmas, Mother's day, Valentines etc. Also, staff try hard to cater to residents' individual needs and preferences and residents always have a choice of food.
My daughter has been very well cared for in the 18 months that she has been at Vallance Care Home.
My sister is a different person now from when she took up residence at the end of August 2018. She is now more positive, memory has improved tremendously. She enjoys all her meals. She mixes very well socially. Previously she was taking a whole lot of pills, now stopped. All due to manager!
I liked this care home from the first time I set foot in there. It is friendly and welcoming. I know mum is well cared for. The staff are very friendly and can't do enough for the residents. The food is good, mum has a lovely room and the home is clean and well cared for. In fact, I always enjoy visiting because the staff are so warm and welcoming.
Relaxed atmosphere, where residents seem mostly content, happy and friendly with each other. Staff are friendly, accessible and easy for the older (and other) folk to understand. They seem to know the residents well and accommodate their likes and dislikes. The home always smells fragrant and is clean.
Excellent care home. Staff very kind and friendly.
Vallance Residential Care Home was selected by myself and my wife to care for my aunt in her latter years. We reviewed a few homes in the Hove and Brighton area some years ago and Vallance was found to be exceptional in our view. The home is truly welcoming and it offered a "real homely" feel with all of the comforts one expects from their own home. The staff themselves are family people and therefore understand the value of an inclusive approach to general and health care. The knowledge and experience of the staff is also excellent and so with us living out of the area, it was critical for us that my aunt has the support she needs around the clock in Hove. We are delighted with our choice of home and most importantly of all, so is my aunt.
