View Full Details of Gratwick HouseAs friends we visit, just dropping in and we always find everyone very happy, well cared for and treated as individuals. Also appreciate the age appropriate music! The home is a home and our friend frequently says how happy he is to live here.
Need awareness and appropriate response is of a high order. Cleanliness and lack of unwelcome aromas are a constant. Visitors, both expected and unexpected are welcomed and always offered refreshments. All in all, a caring, well-managed care home.
I moved my mum from another care home in May. I could not believe the difference in her in such a short time. The manager went through her care plan, her needs, likes and dislikes in such detail. I have never been shown the gateway before so it was a pleasure to see what Mum had been doing. I cannot praise this home enough. All the staff are so engaging when you visit, also was shocked to see Mum walking on a frame when previously told she was unable to do so at the last home.
Management was swift and proactive in response to the pandemic. 14-months on, and now able to visit my mother again, their procedures regarding safety are second to none. Despite my mother great age and deteriorating medical condition, she looks well cared for, and the staff have been instrumental in reminding her who I am. I wouldn't;t have her anywhere else.
Gratwick House looked after my grandmother. My grandmother absolutely loved her time at Gratwick and felt very much at home. The staff were fantastic at what they do and very attentive to all of my grandmother's needs. There was always this aura of a happy/fun/loving atmosphere about the place - staff smiling, residents smiling - it really did feel like a “home”. I would often visit my grandmother at Gratwick in their beautiful garden and the staff would bring us both a cup of tea and biscuit. I would then take my grandmother for walks along the seaside in her wheelchair. The seaside is only a 2-minute walk from Gratwick, so it’s a fabulous location. Sadly, my grandmother passed away in the home. The thing that will always stay in my heart is that certain members of staff, who were not on duty that evening, came in to pay their respects to my grandmother moments after her passing. Gratwick House will always hold a special place in my heart.
Sadly my Mum passed peacefully today and I would like to take this opportunity to give my heartfelt thanks and love to all the staff at Gratwick, all the nurses, the management team, the doctors, the carers, the cooks, the washer-uppers for all their care and love whilst looking after Mum. Myself, my sister and most importantly my Mum could have asked for nothing more, you guys and girls are the real heroes, thank you.
