View Full Details of Oakwood CourtMy mother has been in the care of Oakwood Court for over four years now, and they have provided excellent care throughout. They have also adapted the care to take care of her deterioration due to Alzheimer's. They have done a great job in what can sometimes be challenging circumstances, our family are very grateful knowing that our mother is in safe hands.
Oakwood Court is a very friendly, welcoming care home. The staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble. Dad has settled in here so well. The events and daily activities are very well done and keep him well stimulated. We are kept well informed and up to date on all goings on through regular emails and social media posts.
Outstanding home. Care is excellent. Feels like an extended family.
My mother has been a resident of Oakland Court for a number of years. I have always found the staff to be friendly and approachable. I am pleased that my mother is happy and well looked after.
My father in law has been there for a year and I'm pleased to say the whole experience so far has been a very positive one; everyone is so kind and caring. They seem to have so many activities which always seems to bring out the fun in the residents.
Oakwood is a very caring environment, staffed by empathetic and caring carers and admin people. I am often impressed when I see the interactions between the staff and my mother-in-law. It is also a safe environment for residents and the special events put on by staff are a credit to the home.
My mum is so well looked after at Oakwood Court. All staff are kind and friendly. They treat mum with dignity and make her visitors welcome. The home is bright and clean and food is good.
I would like to say that during my visit staff were very kind, attentive, friendly and engaging at all times, with all Residents as well as us. The surroundings are comfortable, very clean ( but there was one toilet without a light functioning that could have been marked as out of action, rather than allow Residents to get halfway in before we discovered this!) We were told the maintenance person was off this week, and were waiting for their return. Staff were very warm and friendly with us, ensuring we had drinks being a very hot day as well as the Residents, and when we asked for support with our family member were available immediately ( Thank you Gill) and interacted with dignity and respect, gaining consent at all times. It was a great shame that afternoon tea did not come with the same lovely treats as our relative is gluten free, just a dry old biscuit and no choice with that, it was all that was on offer. Other Residents had a choice of homemade cakes, so sad to see.
Mum has been with Oakwood Court since July 2023. (She has now moved on due to extra nursing needs.) During her time with Aokwood, she was always treated with kindness, patience, dignity and respect by all of the wonderful team there. Nothing is too much trouble and things are dealt with expeditiously. Communication is consistently clear and all staff are approachable. Knowing she was so well looked after gave me peace of mind. Thank you to all at Oakwood!
Mum was with Oakwood for 5 years. She struggled to settle due to her Alzheimer's/dementia and the home was so supportive during that time. We found the staff to be friendly and caring throughout. As Mum's dementia progressed I felt reassured that she was being well cared for. The home was always spotless and light and airy and most importantly full of life. We sat by Mum's bedside for many hours in her final 9 days and were so impressed with the care and dignity shown to Mum and also for us. Nothing was too much trouble and if you have to make the difficult decision of care for your loved one. I would not hesitate to recommend Oakwood. Thank you!
At 91 years old our mother recently came to the decision that she could no longer carry on living independently. She wanted more help and above all companionship. Having visited a few care homes, the moment she walked into Oakwood Court she knew this was where she wanted to be. From the outset everyone involved couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating and have gone out of their way to help ensure a stress free transition. Nothing has been too much trouble. Her needs and wishes are sought and acted upon by everyone and Steve, the wonderful handyman, has done all he can to ensure her room is as cosy, comfortable and homely as can be. We were also impressed with how a recent medical situation was dealt with quickly and efficiently. What we her daughters always imagined would be a difficult time, has proved anything but. In just a few weeks, our mother has settled in, is happy and feels very safe and secure in her new home. Maybe the delicious food she enjoys plays a part too.
The home is home from home and a lovely, friendly, community with great staff. It is always welcoming with many smiling faces no matter what scenarios they are facing. Food and activities are always to a good standard.
I have found the home excellent, although my mum has not taken advantage of the great activities. the staff are very friendly. I would happily recommend this to people.
For the 2 years my mother was looked after very well, I think she enjoyed her time here. As a family, we had no problems with her care. She has now sadly passed away.
The care team are amazing. Loving, fun and very professional. They go above and beyond to help my mum feel welcome, safe and happy.
One member of staff is fabulous. The staff are lovely. Food and facilities are very good. Love the bright, open space, and the care home is just what we need for our mum - she's very happy here.
Oakwood Court has been a wonderful home for my mother. My siblings and I visited Mum several times a week and we were always met with a friendly welcome and offered a cup of tea. I know Mum also appreciated the warm and friendly atmosphere at Oakwood. The food was consistently good and as Mum became frailer and less able to look after herself, there was always help at hand. Medical requirements were also met which was so helpful for us who had been handling Mum's meds for the years leading up to her move to Oakwood. Choosing a care home requires a lot of thought but if I was choosing again with the knowledge I now have, I'd definitely pick Oakwood for a second time.
Visited Mum on Mother's Day. A lovely afternoon tea was laid on for all guests and residents - delicious! Tables were decorated beautifully, and the staff mingling with all. I always feel very welcome when I visit Oakwood. Mum is very, very well cared for. Thank you.
Oakwood is an excellent home who take great care of my sister who is suffering from Parkinson's disease. The atmosphere is always happy and the staff always have a smile - a winning combination.
The day my wife first went home, we had a big welcome banner and a goody hamper in the room. She felt at home very quickly, and all the carers were very attentive at all times. The management was always ready to help with any problems. The home was very clean and the food was excellent. I would highly recommend Oakwood Court Care Home as the care is excellent.
