View Full Details of The New Grange Care HomeExcellent home. Clean, staff nice, food freshly cooked, free meals for family visitors, lots of activities. Fair value too.
I am very pleased that we chose this dementia home for our mum. The staff are all lovely and mum is very happy there. We have just attended a summer BBQ which was such fun with lots of family members attending. The residents were included in the preperations during the months leading up to the event with painting and making props for the flower power theme. The food is homecooked daily and the care superb!
I recently visited The New Grange Care Home for their summer barbecue and I was genuinely impressed. The whole afternoon was a real treat. The staff were incredibly kind, helpful, and clearly passionate about the care they provide. The food was delicious and plentiful, with something for everyone. You could tell a lot of thought had gone into the menu and presentation. The atmosphere was relaxed, cheerful, and full of life. The entertainment was fantastic and had everyone smiling and getting involved. It really brought the whole event together. What stood out most was the genuine sense of care and community. It wasn't just a well-run event. It felt warm, personal, and meaningful to everyone there. The New Grange is doing a wonderful job and it shows in everything they do. A big thank you to the entire team.
A very well-run care home. The staff are very caring/friendly to Dad and nothing is too much trouble. Food provided is excellent and they even offer us meals if we are there. The lounges and dining room are clean/disinfected after use several times a day. Residents are encouraged to take part in activities most days and entertainment is provided weekly, visiting singers and "old time" music played each day, which Dad and the other residents love. I feel satisfied Dad is being looked after and well cared for.
Found the care home to be very welcoming, clean and fresh. Staff that I met were very polite and welcoming and nothing was a problem. Other residents that I saw seemed very relaxed and happy. Overall, it seemed a lovely, friendly home.
The New Grange Care Home has a really caring atmosphere. The staff are consistent so there is always a familiar face. Any medical issues are dealt with promptly with generally good communication to the next of kin. The decoration around the home including photos of the residents is always current cheerful and colourful! A social media platform page shows the activities that are offered on a daily basis to keep the family informed.
This is a lovely home my mum has been here over two years and has been treated with dignity and respect - staff however need to greet families with a smile and say hello (only certain staff do this). The home itself is bright and sunny but lacks a homely feel - I know that it's hard as it's a small home and all the residents are together mainly in one room and some are more mobile than others and tend to walk around with nowhere to go apart from a small lounge area. Which looks exactly the same as the main area, maybe a change of furniture or create a homely lounge.
A very caring home. Relatives are made very welcome. It's always a pleasure to visit my brother and to chat with the staff and residents.
Mum settled really well at The New Grange Care Home. The team of staff are so caring and work extremely hard and long hours, this doesn't deter them from caring for all the residents on an individual basis, treating each resident with dignity and respect. Mum suffered a heart attack and the team were quick to respond and get the medical care she needed. The care she has received has been amazing. Thank you.
Everything that has been done throughout the whole year has been done with care, kindness and indeed love. Nothing has been too much trouble, everything asked for has been done, at all times, particularly on the health and well-being side. The property is always clean and well maintained and kept warm when necessary. Well done New Grange and thanks.
I am very comfortable that my relative is happy and well looked after.
Staff always welcoming and friendly. Home is bright and cheery. Extra effort was made to improve and decorate the environment. The food was very good and freshly prepared. Lots of extra activities to keep residents engaged as much as possible.
Mum (and late Dad) were admitted in May 2020. The staff have always been lovely, and I have been involved in all the decision-making with them. I feel that Mum is safe and secure there.
A very well-run home with good leadership and happy staff. Always greeted with a smile, treat residents with dignity and respect and very interactive with all no matter which level of dementia. Lovely home-cooked meals, plenty of activities, always kept updated on family members (mum) and nothing is ever too much, always on the ball.
The philosophy of the home was positively reflected in the way the staff related to the residents. They were attentive and caring and there are a lot of activities for residents. The downside was that it was very institutional, with all residents sitting in one large room, particularly as the weather became colder and there were fewer places for them to go. There is a small room which is hardly used as there is no atmosphere due to it being a walk-through area. On occasion, I was asked to buy more clothes for my mother, pyjamas, trousers, tops etc. but when I went there she was often wearing someone else's clothes. I did ask for her to be in her own clothes but this was never kept to. I also wrote an email which was never responded to, despite sending it three times. This may have been that they knew she would pass away soon, but this was not mentioned to me. When my mother passed there was no acknowledgement by management, no sympathetic email or card, which we thought poor.
Just wish to say that my dear husband is very well cared for and just loves the drumming you do on a Tuesday. I am so happy we can now be together again; thank you all. Love the staff, and the meals are very good - just a big thank you.
I came to visit a family friend and was very impressed with the general cleanliness of all the areas we went to. The staff were friendly and helpful and showed great care, kindness and compassion. The Covid precautions were all adhered to and it felt very safe. We were so glad our friend was in such a lovely place.
The staff are always friendly. I get offered to stay and eat with my mum every time I visit. They always treat her with respect. Able to speak to management whenever I want. Cannot fault the care she has there and she has the freedom to walk around.
We looked at several care homes and this is the one where management made us feel the most welcome. The staff and residents looked happy and the rooms were beautifully decorated. Dad settled in very quickly and was in a better routine and more engaged than at home. We are always invited to eat with Dad and there are no restrictions to visiting hours - I am there every day spending quality time with him. The food menu is excellent - great variety. The entertainment/activities team are brilliant and you can see what they have been up to on social media - fantastic photos. The two barbecues we attended this year were extremely well organised - hats off to the kitchen staff, creative team and staff in general. Any concerns you may have, don't be shy, speak to the staff and they will resolve it for you. The diversity of staff for me is great as it helps with communication. They all do their jobs with a smile - they are the reason why the residents are happy. Thank you.
The staff are excellent and the improved facilities allow for a really comfortable and dignified stay for the residents. I feel relaxed knowing that my mother is receiving such good care.
