My wife is suffering with dementia, heart trouble, bowel and bladder problems and the inability to walk. She is cared for by a kind, caring and considerate workforce who somehow always manage to make her smile. The atmosphere of the home is always warm and friendly.

On visiting my mum I always have found the care home pleasant and the staff caring. I have visited for some years now and have noticed that the home is always clean and not smelly like some homes. My mum has settled here nicely and the staff help where they can. I do feel there is a lack of staff
shortage but that seems to be the sign of the times now. I have nothing but praise for this home. There is always some activity laid on for the residents and crafts and games too.

Thank you all the carers at aliwal manor for looking after my husband an were absolutely brilliant I can't thank you enough
They were also made me feel welcomed
I can still hear my husband calling out after he'd been in hospital I'm home
He also shouted out tea please an biscuits
He love
chocolate or pink wafers
So from me an my family thank yo for taking care of my husband

From the day me and mum went to visit we felt welcomed and found staff very friendly and helpful mum Has settled in preety well and is always praising all the staff . Would recommend to anyone looking for somewhere for there family member.

Aliwal Manor is a nice, clean building. The staff are very kind and welcoming and do their absolute best to meet their clients' needs. There are lots of drink and food options and loads of activities and experiences for the residents. All residents are treated as individuals with dignity and
respect. The home is safe and secure, and the staff are attentive. The staff encourage clients to seek medical help and provide it when necessary.

My mother has been a resident at Aliwal Manor Care Home since March this year. I have found her care excellent. Day staff and night staff food is very good and lots of variety. I am very happy with Aliwal Manor, it is a lovely nursing home.

Generally the home is a family, home environment. There is plenty of activities going on for the residents to enjoy, food is variable and home made, special requests will be adhered to e.g. if a resident would like a rhubarb crumble etc. The rooms are cleaned on a constant basis as well as the other
areas in each unit. The sheets, clothes are washed and ironed and placed back in the rooms quickly. They are constantly trying to improve the home for the residents.

Earlier this week a busy staff member immediately recognised my friend was becoming increasingly agitated and it was reassuring to see the staff member immediately and gently deal with the situation and take my friend to another area where she then settled in her own room, in bed I was given the
option to wait a while but left shortly after seems my friend sleeping.

Aliwal Manor has been a God send after Mum needed 24-hour Alzheimer's care. She has been there now for two years and even though the disease is getting worse the staff cannot do enough for her. They are very proactive in any medical issues and update me at every step. I highly recommend Aliwal Manor
for your loved ones.

The staff are friendly and responsive. The atmosphere when I visit is positive and relaxed. I am informed promptly of any issues arising.

Particularly like the separate break-out rooms. As I have no internet access or access to a computer I sometimes miss out on activities that are shared in this way.

I had a review today with the deputy manager along with my sister. It was good to get feedback on how my mum and dad were doing from their day to day routine. It also allowed us to ask questions and were given good answers. The home is making some positive changes. I feel my parents are getting very
good care and that they have the best interests of the residents at heart. Activities are improving, as they dwindle off for a short while. Overall, it is a lovely care home. The staff are always friendly when we visit.

I had to tell my mum that her younger brother had passed, as although she has dementia, she always asks if I've seen him. I told the manager and she was very helpful and supportive when telling my mum. She made sure that all the staff were aware. I left knowing that Mum would be okay if she got
upset or asked anything.

Aliwal Manor Care Home is a proper care home. You don’t need a million-pound exterior to provide quality care. Care is about looking after individual needs, well-being, happiness and love. It’s not about ticking boxes for CQC ratings, it’s about making elderly, vulnerable people a new home where
they feel safe and loved.

My grandmother is a new resident at Aliwal Manor Care Home. Our first impressions were that the home is clean and smells nice, modern decor with a homely feel. The staff are very kind and helpful with a genuine interest in residents' well-being. The home is well-run, everything was explained and
discussed with the family. So far, everything we have experienced and witnessed has been positive and we are thankful that a difficult decision has been made comforting and reassuring.
