View Full Details of Alexander CourtMy mother seems to be very settled in the home, she mentions sometimes that there's nothing going on, but l know that sometimes she needs encouragement to join in with some of the activities. Most days she's happy with her meals although l think the menu is repetitive, so hopefully this might now change. The staff are very nice and helpful and keep us informed and update us about what's going on. They soon get in touch with the family is having any health problems.
I visited about 2/3 per week, residents are usually asleep or sitting in wet clothes unless they say, nothing is done. The staff, I wonder, are any of them trained in dementia care? I doubt it. Today, as an example, I told a member of staff the resident's neuralgia was causing him serious pain, bearing today is Friday, they said they would get him seen next Wednesday when Dr visits when he was at home, they increased his meds and gave morphine orally also.
The home is always clean and Tidy. Staff are amazingly friendly, helpful, and so so good with all the residents and families that visit! Any issues or worries I or my relative has are taken care of straight away! My cousin has settled well, and I feel really happy, as I live far away. I just can't praise ALL staff enough for what they all do !!!
Without a doubt the care my dad receives has saved his life he has been here for nearly two years and we have had many hospital trips and when he returns it's the girls who rebuild him, we are forever grateful for the kindness and care the staff give to him and us, we often ask questions and the staff are always helpful, the staff know us and understand the awful journey we have been on so explain things to us clearly, we spend a great deal of time with my father and are welcomed every time. Excellent care we highly recommend Alexander Court
My sister has lived in the care home for over two years. The staff are very kind and professional and go above and beyond their normal duties. The personalised care is perfect for my sister and she is happy in this environment.
My Nana has been here since 2023 and is very well cared for. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, always offering their support and care. The rooms are kept very clean at all times. I enjoy coming here to visit, would definitely recommend!
My mother has received excellent care and understanding of her needs at the home and the whole family have been made to feel very welcome and accommodating. With her health increasingly deteriorating as of late, the care and support both my mother and us as a family have received has been greatly appreciated and we are very grateful for that.
Mum has been in the care home for over 4 years now and after a very tumultuous life she is now happy, albeit whilst suffering with dementia. Mum is now confined to her bed following a minor stroke a few months ago but previous to this she enjoyed joining other residents with various activities, something she never did previously, having been encouraged by staff. Staff are very accomodating and very friendly always, and I and mum's little dog Brinkley are always welcomed with a smile and a chat. I am kept informed of mum's condition and what she has been doing, and there is always someone available that can answer any questions I may have. I have every confidence in my mum being looked after at Alexander Court and very happy with the love and care she is receiving, she has everything she needs to live comfortably, including lovely meals which she enjoys very much.
Mum is very happy here she often has said it's the best thing she did There is plenty to do if she wants to do them We are pleased with all the kindest mum is shown here Food is good and she loves going up to the room for her lunch As a family we are so relieved for mum to be here She is safe secure and has company
My mum has been with the home now for 6yrs. I am so happy with the way she is cared for and treated by all the staff. The carers and the seniors are just fantastic. There is never a problem that is too much for them to help put right. The domestic staff are great, my mums room is always clean. You can tell when the room has been done. The housekeeper is wonderful, again if your concerned about something then she will get it sorted. The activities lady is wonderful, not only does she try to keep the residents interested, she also does the females finger nails. She paints them what colour they choose and at times decorates the odd nail or two. The admin staff and managerial staff are all approachable as are all the staff. The kitchen staff are great, even though the staff are in the kitchen all day preparing and cooking meals for the residents, they always have a smile. The staff make the home what it is. It is a privilege to know them, I am so grateful to all the staff.
On the whole our experience has been very positive. Mum seems to have a good level of care and is well looked after. I sometimes feel that communication can be a little better as I do not always know when mum has needed a gp or nurses visit - but I appreciate how busy everyone is. Food is always excellent with a good variety.
I am pleased with all the care Mum receives, she is mostly happy. Staff are very good with her. She has everything she needs in her room. Mum loves the food which is cooked on site. She is very sociable.
We are very happy with the care my mother is receiving, the the staff are very caring and attentive to all her needs , we couldn't find a fault with any aspect of her care since she has been a resident at Alexsander court.
I am relatively pleased with the overall running of the care home as my mother is bed bound I'm sure it can be very difficult for her and sometimes the carers. My mother struggles with eating at times and does not always like the dinners. She also tells me that she has very limited correspondence with anyone that works in the care. I can see that the carers are very busy but would be nice to see my mother involved in something although do understand this is hard due to being bed bound . I'm sure they do their best
My uncle is cared for very well at Alexander Court. The staff are lovely and friendly and always helpful and will do anything possible to help my uncle. I do feel sometimes that there could be a few more staff on duty though.
Alexander Court had been brilliant for my mother. When she arrived at the home she was in a poor state but with the help and assistance and compassionate care of all the staff her health has improved so much. The staff are like family for her and she enjoys their company. I highly recommend Alexander Court.
Not bad.
Management and staff work hard to ensure my mum's changing needs are met; as they know her well; keeping records that inform decisions; responding respectfully with kindness and care. The home feels friendly and homely. Staff are welcoming and approachable. The furnishings, layout, decor, pictures and ornaments help the homely comfortable feel. The two cats make it feel even more like a comfortable true home. They help residents relax, as does the patio garden which has become a lovely place to sit.
My dad has lived here for two years now and has always been very well cared for. We are so pleased to see the positive interactions between staff and residents, the time spent with them ensuring their needs are met and that they feel special and cared about. Dad has enjoyed activities and celebrations along the way and now that he is not so mobile, great effort is taken to help him socialise and join in as much as possible with the other residents. Although he no longer recognises us, we can see that he is comfortable having us in his room. He appears calm and relaxed every time we visit. The heads of care keep us well informed of changes in his health and well-being. We are on a journey but we feel supported. All the staff are friendly and welcoming within the home and the whole place has a calm atmosphere. We are grateful that Dad has a safe and secure home for this very difficult stage of his life.
Alexander Court Care Home is a lovely, welcoming place. I feel totally confident that my loved one is safe and stimulated, very important, as they are a resident in the dementia, upstairs area of the care home. Whenever I visit, regardless of day or time, the standard of care is the same. The staff are all cheerful and very competent. And I would say that they go beyond the call of duty to make the residents feel special and happy, I would have no hesitation in recommending Alexander Court, Thetford, to anyone who was faced with the difficult task of finding the right place for their loved one.
