Today was my mums 80th birthday. She has been living with dementia at Alexander court now for the last 5 years. I was amazed by the efforts made by the staff to welcome the family into the function room for a party for mum with balloons banners cake music and fun, with some staff coming in on their day off to set up the room! We are so grateful for the love, care and dignity my mum gets at Alexander Court. Dementia is a journey nobody wants to take, but we couldn't ask for more from everyone at this home. Thank you from all of the family xxx

I'm incredibly grateful for the wonderful care my mum receives at this home. Living with dementia can bring many challenges, but she has truly flourished here. The team go out of their way to create a stimulating, supportive environment, and it shows in how happy and settled she is.

She especially loves the regular trips out to town and the cinema, which give her a real sense of independence and joy. The quizzes, crafts, and other activities keep her engaged, and she takes great pride in helping with the simple day-to-day tasks the staff involve her in. One of the things that means the most to me is how much she enjoys chatting with everyone-there's a genuine warmth in the way the staff interact with her, and she feels valued and included.

I can see how well she is cared for, both emotionally and physically, and it brings me real peace of mind. Knowing she is safe, stimulated, and surrounded by people who treat her with such kindness makes all the difference.

Dad is very happy and settled in the home, staff and Management often popping in to see him for a chat on top of their normal duties with him. Food is good, Dad can be a bit fussy about what he will eat but there is always an alternative selection, he is never left hungry! Room laid out well and very comfortable and kept clean. Clothing laundered very well and very quick turnaround to return to his wardrobe. Activities well planned and varied, something for everyone.

The biggest plus for this home are the staff, all the staff really care about the residents and the residents families and friends who visit, knowing all our names. The word 'Home' sums it up, this is one big happy family all under the same roof.

My sister and I visit our mum twice a week, we always get a warm welcome from the staff.

Our mum is well attended, all our queries and worries are answered. The medical needs of our mum is acted on very quickly and we are kept well informed, ringing us up and telling us if the doctor or paramedics have been called. Our mum seems happy most of the time and does comment that she enjoys being here.

My wife Mary, has now been a resident for 5 years. She was admitted during the difficult time of Covid lockdown when we were not permitted to visit our loved ones. The staff took this situation with care and patience. Over the years, Mary's condition deteriorated considerably; however, the love, care and respect shown to Mary and all the residents is for all to see. Thank you, Alexander Court.

I visited about 2/3 per week, residents are usually asleep or sitting in wet clothes unless they say, nothing is done.

The staff, I wonder, are any of them trained in dementia care? I doubt it. Today, as an example, I told a member of staff the resident's neuralgia was causing him serious pain, bearing today is Friday, they said they would get him seen next Wednesday when Dr visits when he was at home, they increased his meds and gave morphine orally also.

Without a doubt the care my dad receives has saved his life he has been here for nearly two years and we have had many hospital trips and when he returns it's the girls who rebuild him, we are forever grateful for the kindness and care the staff give to him and us, we often ask questions and the staff are always helpful, the staff know us and understand the awful journey we have been on so explain things to us clearly, we spend a great deal of time with my father and are welcomed every time. Excellent care we highly recommend Alexander Court

My mother has received excellent care and understanding of her needs at the home and the whole family have been made to feel very welcome and accommodating.

With her health increasingly deteriorating as of late, the care and support both my mother and us as a family have received has been greatly appreciated and we are very grateful for that.

Mum has been in the care home for over 4 years now and after a very tumultuous life she is now happy, albeit whilst suffering with dementia. Mum is now confined to her bed following a minor stroke a few months ago but previous to this she enjoyed joining other residents with various activities, something she never did previously, having been encouraged by staff. Staff are very accomodating and very friendly always, and I and mum's little dog Brinkley are always welcomed with a smile and a chat. I am kept informed of mum's condition and what she has been doing, and there is always someone available that can answer any questions I may have. I have every confidence in my mum being looked after at Alexander Court and very happy with the love and care she is receiving, she has everything she needs to live comfortably, including lovely meals which she enjoys very much.

My mum has been with the home now for 6yrs. I am so happy with the way she is cared for and treated by all the staff. The carers and the seniors are just fantastic. There is never a problem that is too much for them to help put right. The domestic staff are great, my mums room is always clean. You can tell when the room has been done. The housekeeper is wonderful, again if your concerned about something then she will get it sorted. The activities lady is wonderful, not only does she try to keep the residents interested, she also does the females finger nails. She paints them what colour they choose and at times decorates the odd nail or two. The admin staff and managerial staff are all approachable as are all the staff. The kitchen staff are great, even though the staff are in the kitchen all day preparing and cooking meals for the residents, they always have a smile. The staff make the home what it is. It is a privilege to know them, I am so grateful to all the staff.

On the whole our experience has been very positive. Mum seems to have a good level of care and is well looked after.

I sometimes feel that communication can be a little better as I do not always know when mum has needed a gp or nurses visit - but I appreciate how busy everyone is.

Food is always excellent with a good variety.

I am relatively pleased with the overall running of the care home as my mother is bed bound I'm sure it can be very difficult for her and sometimes the carers. My mother struggles with eating at times and does not always like the dinners. She also tells me that she has very limited correspondence with anyone that works in the care. I can see that the carers are very busy but would be nice to see my mother involved in something although do understand this is hard due to being bed bound . I'm sure they do their best
