The toilet on ground floor in reception/hall was is quite dirty walls, floor, decor all quite filthy and in bad repair. Toilet bowl is disgusting. Black with limescale. Poor dated decoration. Unhygienic. Unbelievable for cost of staying there. Staff are friendly.
Reply from ABBIE-ROSE REARDON, Admin at Norwood HouseThank you for your review, we value all feedback here at Norwood House. We are sorry for your experience whilst using the facilities in the foyer toilet during your visit here at the home. Please rest assured that we are aware renovations within the home have made this area a higher foot traffic zone. Consequently, this space has undergone maintenance and repairs with planned renovations in the future to convert it into a visitor toilet. We hope your next visit is a more positive experience. Staff are always available and happy to speak with you during your visits to the home if you wish to raise anything.

We are very pleased with the care our mum receives from all the wonderful staff. However, due to the circumstances, it is sometimes very difficult for ourselves, our mum and the staff. We moved our mum approx 11 months ago and are very pleased we did.

Mum has now been at Norwood House 18 months, she has settled in well and in her words she says she has no complaints. What so ever. All the staff/care workers are kind and very friendly. Anything we have asked for or about has been addressed at once. It's lovely to see that a lot of improvements are
going on with the new owners. It's lovely to know that mum is safe and as happy as she can be at this great age.

Staff friendly and kind. Food plenty good selection nice having snacks nearby. Home nice and warm sometime a bit chilly. Clothing nice and clean. Keep me clean as well. Home is always clean and tidy. Can't comment on management as don't see them much. Had a lovely Christmas here with my family. Some
carers are more careful with the hoist than others when moving me.

My mother was in the EMI ward at Holmwood House for almost 2 years.
She was exceptionally well cared for throughout her stay. I visited her regularly, at differing times, and she was always, clean, beautifully dressed, her hair was brushed and styled in different ways -- which she always loved.
In
all my time visiting I saw only genuine care and tenderness from the staff towards the residents.
My mum was without a doubt happy and made many good friends amongst the other staff and residents while she was there.
She died peacefully and with dignity, surrounded by the staff who cared for her and her friends she had made there. We couldn't ask for more for her.
We hear so many awful stories about care homes, I feel it's extremely important to share the excellent stories of care, to highlight the staff who make the residents lives full of love, support and fun, and to take away the fear that many people have of what a care home is.
Holmwood House is an excellent - as are the amazing staff

Quinton House is a clean, comfortable, cosy and friendly carehome with lovely gardens. The food seems good and the staff are kind, efficient, thoughtful and genuinely caring.
My sister who has Alzheimer's has been in residence there for over two years.
My one concern was possibly at the beginning
of her dementure when she may have needed more physio help to keep her legs strong and maybe I should have done something about that myself. I can see why this would not be a priority or be encouraged by any carehome as it might be trickier for the staff to stop her from falling etc.
Having said this, she is very well looked after and now seems content. The staff are really lovely with her and treat her respectfully.
I would thouroughly recommend Quinton House.

The care given to my aunt gives us piece of mind as we cannot be with her as often as we would like due to work and family commitments. She is treated with warmth and affection. She is warm and fed well. Her health too is monitored. The home has a friendly feel with staff always being attentive. Cups
of tea and smiles always on hand for the residents and their visitors alike.

My wife has been a resident in Holmwood House for 9 months. She has received excellent care from a dedicated team of carers. The home also organises various activities in order to stimulate the residents. These include visits with owls, donkeys and musical events. The food is of good quality and looks
very appetising. The main thing is that she is happy and settled.

Now I cant do things for myself in my own home I like having things done for me. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I had such a good welcome when I came here in December 2024 when I could no longer cope at home on my own.

Overall I am very satisfied with the care my husband is receiving from the care assistants and the nursing staff at Holmwood House. He is happy in his self and doesn't seem to be agitated or distressed. One thing that does cause him to become agitated is having to wait to be taken to the toilet, as
he is not mobile thisis sometimes a problem, this is the only complaint I have.

Staff are friendly and caring. My dad gets the best care and is happy where he lives, which is so important to us. When my nan recently passed away at Holmwood House she was made so comfortable and had exceptional care. All the staff were so lovely to her and us as a family.

My mum has been a resident at the home since July 2024. She had a very warm welcome, and it has been the same since. All the staff show a lot of kindness towards the residents, and always friendly towards me when I am visiting, I feel happy that my mum is in good hands. I try and join in the activities
when I can, and they are always a lot of fun. The staff are always keeping me up to date with my mum's health and let me know if they have any concerns. I feel confident that my mum is in the best hands when I am unbale to see her as I work away during the week. My mum has become better in herself since being in the home as she is surrounded by people all day and is involved with activities that keeps her mind active. I truly can recommend this home.

Overall generally satisified with the care provided for my godmother. Unfortunateley the lady concerned (who is 99 years old} chooses not to interact socially with other residents. Neither will she accept either a TV or radio in her room.
