My mother has been in Brooke House for nearly 2 years. There has been a continuence of care staff throughout this period which is reassuring. The staff themselves (I generally visit 10 o'clock, lunch time or late afternoon) are wonderful. I do sometimes feel as if they are occassionally over
stretched at certain periods. There has been a notable change (positive) following Oana's appointment, activities and engagement of families is terrific! The effort made by staff for my mums 100th was amazing.

Mum is approaching her final days having been looked after at Brooke House since April 2022 (nearly four years). The care offered has been excellent and continues to improve. All the staff are extremely friendly and attentive with a good system running and sufficient staff to ensure lots of varied
activities for residents take place and adequate care given. As mum's health has deteriorated, the care has stepped up and palliative arrangements put in place. We, the family, have a great weight lifted from our minds knowing that absolutely everything possible to ease mum's life has been done, and have full confidence in the Brooke House team.

From the windows of this well cared for house there are countryside views including extensive well maintained gardens. Residents are cared for by a wonderful team of care workers, domestic and kitchen staff. There is a team of activity organisers providing a range of activities incl. Cookery, arts &
crafts, exercising and one-to-one pampering. The home manager is working hard & has a good rapport with her staff. I am pleased to note that she also makes time to interact with the residents. My wife has been a resident for over three years and is loved as well as cared for. She smiles when the staff attend to her needs. Residents who require medical attention, are seen by district nurses and visits by local doctors.
Seasons of the year are celebrated and residents' birthdays. Occasional religious services are held for those wishing to attend. A quarterly meeting of relatives & residents with the home manager are arranged to discuss and share ideas.

If you are looking for a family friendly warm home for some restbite or long term care it's a winner. Highly recommend.
We had contact with the home prior to looking for somewhere as they involve the outside community with different activities and my young children previously had fun days visiting
with school, summer picnic events etc. We are so delighted we chose Brooke house. The management team are super friendly, helpful and very accommodating of all needs. The staff are amazing, attentative, considerate, kind and treat with huge respect.
Every time we visit the staff check in with us to see how things are, if anything can be improved upon. It's a huge relief knowing our loved one is safe, well looked after and has a really positive experience in the home. From the activities, doctors appointments, therapy, hairdressers, external specialist services the staff do everything so you know its all in hand.
We can't fault the home atall. Its like an extended family.

From my first visit to Brooke house I felt a confident that all my mums need would be met. The professional approach to the care of both the residents and their families is obvious. On seeing the details of the home mum said it looked like her sort of place. It really feels like a home from home. I
would have no hesitation recommending this gorgeous home to other families in need of both care and support.
The staff always have a genuine smile on their faces which is wonderful for visiting families at what can be s very difficult time.

The management responded very quickly to our needs, and my sister was in the home within ours in a hospital bed we had requested. The home was clean, bright and warm, with spacious rooms and lovely views. The food was inviting and nutritious. The care was excellent and all the staff were friendly
and helpful to the family, as well as my sister.

I was very worried about leaving my Mother as she lives with us full time, she is a quiet lady and has dementia, my worries quickly went when I met the kind, caring staff at Brook House. They showered her with kindness, and when I collected her two weeks later I found her to be very happy and clean
and she had improved greatly in herself, she said she had had a lovely time and that she would happily go again for, as she put it, her holiday.
Thank you to all the staff who work so hard and look after their clients as if they were their own, not only have the staff looked after my mother but our whole family and I can't speak highly enough of them, I will always choose Brook House in the future.

My husband had a very good experience during a period of respite care. Carers ensured he took part in activities offered. Would recommend Brooke House and will come for future respite care I hope.

Mum has recently had two weeks in Brooke House whilst she recovered from a hip replacement. As she has an early dementia diagnosis and struggles with change, we were apprehensive about how she would adapt to a new routine and environment. We need not have worried, she enjoyed it so much that she is
planning to return for a 'holiday' in the summer! Every single person on the team was so caring and friendly, and we always felt that mum was in great hands and being very well looked after. The food was a particular highlight, especially the cakes - luckily my afternoon visits tended to coincide with the tea trolley coming round!
Very quickly everyone knew mum's name and she enjoyed watching muntjac deer from her window. The activities team were relentlessly cheery with everyone and the carers were always kind and supportive. I would not hesitate to recommend Brooke House to anyone looking for a place where their loved one can feel part of a family, not just be a resident.

My Godmother has now been a resident at Brooke House for just over a year. She absolutely loves the view from her room across the parkland where Muntjac deer, pheasants and a variety of birds can often be observed. It is a delightfull, relaxing setting, perfect for a care home!
Her health is good
and she is usually relaxed, happy and talkative and coping with life well which is a credit to all the staff.
Everywhere is very clean and well looked after. The catering staff provide excellent food. It's a pleasure to visit especially at tea time when delicious cakes and tea are provided!
Their are a wide range of activities daily and trips out for those that are able to do so or wish to partake. The staff also organise various functions when residents and their relatives can enjoy the summer sun in the gardens with refreshments and entertainment .
I feel confident that my Godmother is safe , happy and well cared and it's a pleasure to visit.

Both my parents have been residents at Brooke House since January 2021. They prefer to spend time away from the main areas and enjoy having their meals together, in private, which the staff are very happy to facilitate.
I have always been informed promptly of any medical concerns and the
appropriate action has been taken.
With the idyllic, rural setting of Brooke House, it is possible to observe and, on fine days, communicate with nature within the grounds. This means a lot to my parents as they have always loved the countryside.

My nan/mum had been in the care home for twenty months. She had previously been a different home but Brooke House is, by far, the better home by a mile.
This goes down to the standard off the home to the food, activities and the very friendly carers.
Brooke House really took care of my nan like
she was their family, true care and empathy for her.
I can't thank the lovely management and staff enough for everything they have done and will always be truly grateful.

Wonderful welcome, easy to engage with the staff and ask any questions. Feel part of the family already only after a few difficult days. Thank you so much.
05 March 2024
Visiting Brooke House is always a happy experience. Mum loves living there and tells me you only have to mention something and it appears. Staff are all so patient and kind. Activities are good and Mum enjoys them. After a period of management change, we are relieved to see a great manager in place
now. Thanks Brooke - we know Mum is in good hands.

The welcome into the home is always warm and welcoming. Staff are always courteous. As a blind person, when my husband visits his sister (in the dementia unit), we would appreciate members of staff announcing their names and designated roles on meeting, until he was familiar with the voices!
The
home is always warm and bright and very clean.
With residents varying degrees of Alzheimer's/dementia, it is difficult to engage in activities but this does appear to be, in our opinion, somewhat patchy.
Dining areas are superb, with attention to detail, beautiful crockery, cutlery, napkins and fresh flowers on every table.
08 January 2024
The staff have all contributed to making the recent move to the home as positive experience as possible for both my parents.
The parent staying has been well cared for and has seemed to have relaxed and settled in the new surroundings. The parent visiting has been treated with kindness and
consideration.

Brooke House is amazing! The staff are really friendly and look after Mum exceptionally well! As a family, we are always made to feel welcome and included. Dad is always welcome to have dinner with Mum and we are always treated to a slice of homemade cake in the afternoons! The activities arranged
for the residents are great and include trips to the seaside!
Thank you to all the staff.

My experience of Brooke House is a positive one.
My father has been shown kindness, compassion and respect from all staff - manager, carers, ancillary staff. Communication with us, his family, is strong and any request/question we have is answered swiftly and fully. We are made welcome whenever we
visit and never have the feeling that anything is put on for us for 'show'. When we visit, we can see that all residents are treated with the same care and patience as my father.
The home has a warm and welcoming atmosphere and clearly, a strong emphasis has been put on making it homely and not clinical. Nor does it have an institutional feel. The food is of a very high quality.
Choosing a home for my father was not easy and we are now quite confident that we chose the right home for him. The culture of Brooke House is to ensure residents continue to live their lives with dignity, which is equally important as any other aspect of their care - if not more so.

Brooke House staff were fantastic looking after Dad he was looked after with care and respect not just his physical needs but also his psychological and social needs.
The home was always clean and smelt nice and the food passed Dad's very critical pallet.
Thanks for looking after Dad so well.

My father went to Brooke House Care Home after a spell in hospital in June. He has physically improved since being in the home but his mental capacity has deteriorated. The staff and support he gets are very good and he is happy to be there. The home is lovely with a wonderful garden and surrounding
countryside. As my father says, "I am in the perfect place for a retired farmer". We are very pleased with our choice of home for our father.
