Nothing is too much trouble, you can always see the manager without any fuss, the door is always open and welcoming - the food is very good and a good choice to choose from. Its very sad to have to put a loved one into care, but you can visit when you like, no problems. Well done all who work here and a big thank you.
Furze Hill is a wonderful care home, and my mum is happy there. The staff are kind and friendly and always welcoming. When we visit, Mum always looks well cared for, and her room is always clean. There are plenty of activities for the residents to join in, which Mum enjoys, especially the singing. I can highly recommend Furze Hill House.
Every member of the team is friendly & caring. Mum is very happy here. The staff respect her & encourage her to stay independent wherever possible.
Dad has been at Furze Hill House since July 2024. During his time there, his care needs have increased. The staff are well aware of his needs, and an ideal care plan has been put in place. His dementia means that most of the time he isn't aware of much, but he is able to walk using a frame and is able to communicate with staff. Overall, we are happy with the care Dad receives. Keep up the good work!!
I never envisaged having to rely on a care home for my mother's welfare, but can honestly say that it now feels like an extended family at Furze Hill with care and compassion for both residents and visiting family members.
It is such a relief that my mother is a resident of Furze Hill House. The level of care and the quality of the accommodation and facilities is second to none. I appreciate that my mother can be difficult, disruptive and a challenge. However all the staff go beyond and above to make her as comfortable, safe and happy as possible. The rooms are all kept clean, tidy and lovely and warm. Blankets are always available for anyone who feels the cold. Hot and cold drinks are always available with biscuits and cake mornings and afternoons. The Cameo club is a great hit with my mother too. The staff take time to walk residents over so they can enjoy a lunch and entertainment in a different location. I would say Furze Hill is the best home my mother has been too, because the emphasis is on making it as much like home as they can.
Furze Hill House is a wonderful place. My mother has been there for 6 years and has always been very well looked after by the kind and caring staff who treat her with dignity. The home is always warm & comfortable, its it clean & tidy and the food options are excellent. They also have regular activities for the residents.
This is a wonderful care home, everyone is friendly and so welcoming on every visit. The management and staff go above and beyond with the care given to my mum. My family and I would highly recommend this care home.
My mother has been a resident at Furze Hill House for a few years, and as she suffers from dementia it is vital that I am certain she is happy and well cared for. Even thought mum no longer knows who any of her children are, it is still very evident that she is happy. Mum is a wanderer and continually walks around the care home, including on occasions walking in to the office turning around and walking out again, but she is never chastised for doing so by the staff. It is just a really lovely environment for a lady who is fast approaching her 93rd birthday to live out what time she has left. Mum has been a member of The Salvation Army for 50 years, and being in a Salvation Army care home has been great for her wellbeing. While mum has little speach left , she will still tap her foot when she hears a band or songster brigade, the music is still a great stimulation. All in all, I can't fault the care she receives, which is greatly appreciated by the family.
It's lovely to visit our mum at Furze Hill, she is always well looked after, dressed lovely and clean and her room is always clean and tidy with the bed always made. The staff are very friendly, not just to mum but to the family and friends too. The care home is always warm and welcoming, the entertainment and fayres are great, mum loves the food, and theres cups of hot and cold drinks available on asking. I wouldn't want our mum to be anywhere else.
Furze care home in North Walsham is a very friendly home with great staff. The home is very bright and open with large rooms with ensuite, very clean everywhere. My sister and I will return back to Australia and we feel very comfortable in the knowledge that she is well looked after and safe. Thankyou to all the staff.
My mother is so happy at Furze Hill. She has a lovely relationship with the staff and they are kind and patient with her. Whenever we visit the home and her room is clean. There are plenty of activities for all residents to join in. I cannot ask for anything more.
When entering Furze Hill, I am always welcomed, and when necessary, a staff member will tell me if any clothing my brother requires. The day I visited it was my brother's birthday and a cake was made to celebrate. We sat in the communal area, talking about the day. I saw a member of staff talking with other residents and helping with puzzles. During this visit we were offered tea and coffee with biscuits. My brother is known by many staff members.
I have nothing but respect and admiration for the whole team without exception. At no point have I questioned that they want my mother's time there to be the best it can possibly be, unfortunately they are being help back by the conditions created by the building itself, it seems not possible to control and keep an acceptable and not oppressive temperature level. The lounge in particular stands out as a problem, her own room has also been a problems. We need the Salvation Army to step up and provide the backing and expertise to rectify the building heating problem which is seriously letting them down. Any low marks only due to the building.
My wife has been so well looked after at times when she gets upset, they are fantastic staff. Not only do they care so well for my wife they also give me so much help in good and upsetting times. I can always have tea and biscuits and juice, I can also have a meal with my wife every day if I want. My wife at times can be so upset and with her walking not good the staff are truly magnificent. When I go home after visiting I know she is safe with plenty of car and love. Thank you so much.
Much patience, much care, much compassion.
We sadly had to move my mum into care in November 2022. As much as we wanted to keep her at home we knew we couldn't keep her safe there any longer. It was one of the hardest decisions we had to make. However, since mum has been at Furze Hill House she really has flourished. To have such a kind and caring environment we have seen that constant state of anxiety she used to have reduce. She is so content and as hard as the decision to move her was we are so grateful we did, and that it was Furze Hill she went to. The staff go above and beyond, they are like a big family and that really comes across every time we visit. I find all the staff approachable and they listen to any concerns we may have. Even better, they feedback on any concerns they may have regarding mum and keep you well informed. I cannot thank every member of the team at Furze Hill enough for everything they have done for mum and for us! Being able to sleep at night knowing she is cared for is priceless.
My dad was in your lovely care home for respite. He had been a bit poorly. He arrived in a wheelchair and was nonverbal. After a few weeks, he made amazing progress. The manager is passionate about her role and always goes above and beyond her duty of care. The staff are dedicated caregivers. We knew his carer when our mum was a resident here five years ago. We knew Mum was in good hands. She made my dad feel at ease at all times. She reassured him and comforted him when he was feeling anxious. The care and love the team shows to their residents is amazing! My dad left Furze Hill talking and walking with the aid of a stick and with confidence too! You truly are amazing! We can't thank you enough!
Well-run care home, with nice staff who are infinitely patient (some residents with dementia are sometimes quite difficult). Warm and friendly atmosphere. My wife suffers from a neurological condition leaving her crippled, blind and unable to communicate but she seems not unhappy and still manages rapport with staff.
We are more than happy with the way my cousin has been cared for and over the months we can see she has settled well. The home and the staff are excellent and we are really pleased with everything.
