When we visit we find the staff very friendly and we find the home always clean and tidy. The staff are friendly to my brother and treat him well and he laughs and jokes with them which makes us know that he is cared for.
The home always looks clean and tidy when I visit. The staff are kind and treat the clients with care and dignity which I think is very important. As a visitor I am always welcomed and I feel very relaxed on my visits. My brother gets on well with the staff and loves a joke with them. I have noticed that there is one residents that he seems to have a problem with.
My husband has had 2 weeks respite care at Ashfields. I looked at a number of homes before choosing this home, but were particularly impressed by the warmth and friendliness shown to us when we looked round. All the staff, whatever their role, are dementia trained, and there is an atmosphere of calmness and warmth at the home, and it is very well managed by the enthusiastic, friendly and very professional manager. Although the external appearance of the home is not so prepossessing, inside it is light and bright and well-maintained, with 2 lovely lounges and attractive dining room. There is a lovely garden and many cafes nearby for a family visit. But we were particularly impressed by the high standard of care and attentiveness to his needs,. There is a good range of activities and a very pro-active activities co-ordinator - she managed to persuade even my husband to join in at least some of them!
We looked at several care homes prior to choosing Ashfields, Overall the facilities, set up, and rooms are of a high level. The Staff were more than helpful and were the main reason for us to trust the care of my father with them, Dad has been with them for 3 months now and our initial worries have abated. I would definitely recommend Ashfield care home to anyone in our situation,
I would recommend the Barchester Ashfields Care Home based on my experience this year with the care of my father who suffers from dementia and is no longer mobile. The caring staff are kind and attentive and they are also well organised. The management team is supportive and helpful with responding to my questions and keeping in contact with me. Although my father is not yet able to enjoy all of the activities on offer he was pleased to sit in with a music session (visiting musician) last week and get his hair cut at the salon within the care home. The home is clean and well appointed, and the food is also very good. Overall, I think that the care home staff are doing a great job with residents that need patience and understanding and I am pleased that my father is in their care.
I would like to highly rate all the staff at Ashfields. My Dad spent just under a year in their care. Everyone was excellent right up to the end. I always felt he was safe and well cared for. I always felt he was safe and well cared for. Staff were really good at informing me of anything and keeping me up to date. They were really good and respectful when Dad sadly passed away. I will mis s visiting the home. Thankyou so much Ashfields for all your help and support.
I'm extremely happy at the care my mum receives in Barchester Ashfields Care Home. The staff are lovely and very caring and meet Mum's needs with a smile. They are always there to discuss and queries you may have and nothing is too much trouble for them. A big plus for me is that Mum no longer feels lonely. When in her own home, she forgot who she'd seen or talked to so felt very lonely. The company of others and the staff mean this is no longer an issue. I leave her knowing she is in good hands.
After a poor experience in another care home (two weeks), we moved my husband to Barchester Ashfields Care Home. We were thrilled from day one by the facilities, staff and extremely high level of care. Now, three months since my husband became a resident, we have been delighted by the high standards in every part of his care. Staff go above and beyond expectations - the food/meals in beautifully presented restaurant are superb. For us, his family, there is a sense of extreme relief that the one we love so much is now cared for so well.
As a family, we cannot express our gratitude enough for the ongoing care our loved one received. All of the staff go above and beyond what you expect and nothing is ever too much trouble. The manager is extremely caring and supportive and the whole team, including catering and admin, are involved in your loved one's journey and care. Barchester Ashfields Care Home is a credit to the organisation, we would like to thank every single member of staff who supported us and our family member. We will be forever grateful to the team. Kind regards.
My mum was in Barchester Ashfields Care Home with dementia. I can't recommend all the staff enough. That means all the staff including management, maintenance care team, chefs, as they went above and beyond their usual duties and helped us in every way they could. The home itself is spotless and the best home I have been in and believe me I have seen a lot of them with my job. All in all lovely staff and home.
My aunt, for whom I also have power of attorney for finance etc. but not well-being, has been at Barchester Ashfields Care Home for just over a year and she had her 100th birthday at the home. Prior to her admission and whilst she was in hospital, she was described as someone who would be difficult to place because of the degree of her dementia and some of her behaviours. I can only say that I am delighted with the care she is receiving at Ashfields. They have her measure and now she seems to be very happy there, although maintains that she doesn't live there! All friends and family comment on the quality of care and my aunt's general happiness, although, of course, this does vary in line with the state of her dementia. The staff at Ashfields cope with these variations extremely well and given that at least three places refused to take her from hospital, this speaks volumes for their caring skills and their compassion. I feel confident, not to say relieved, that my aunt is in very good hands.
We would like to say how pleased we have been with every aspect of care. The resident was treated with kindness and dignity at all times. Whenever we visited, we were made to feel welcome and feel we could discuss his progress. We were always kept up to date with any issues that occurred. We (myself, my wife and the resident's niece) are so pleased that we chose Barchester Ashfields Care Home to care for our loved one. Thank you to the manager, administrator and all the staff.
I cannot express my gratitude enough for the ongoing 24-hour-a-day, seven-days-a-week care, respect and patience given to my dad. The staff go above and beyond to meet Dad's needs. I find the communication with myself is informative and constant from all at Barchester Ashfields Care Home. Their knowledge of Dad is amazing and is built upon the wonderful care they give. They listen and understand both myself and my dad which makes this current chapter in our lives so much easier to come to terms with.
Most importantly, my mum seems happy. All the staff are so nice to my mum and her face lights up when they speak to her. If they see her walking down the corridor they say 'hello' and interact with her. I cannot fault any of the carers. My mum always looks clean. Her clothes are clean and her room is clean. There is a choice of meals. The entertainment staff actively encourage my mum to take part in activities. The social media page is interesting to look at to see what has been taking place and who too part. I am kept notified about my mum, e.g. falls or doctor visits. Overall, I am happy with Barchester Ashfields Care Home and would happily recommend it.
Our lovely Mum was a resident at Barchester Ashfields Care Home until she recently passed away. Her family and friends were very pleased with the kind, caring, and compassionate dedication of all the staff. Thank you to everyone who enabled us to spend those extra months with her, we will always be grateful.
The staff have been very caring and attentive. My mum has been going through a very difficult and distressing period with her illness and I have seen a genuine will to help and care for her as well as taking time to talk everything through with me. Thank you.
I visited Barchester Ashfields Care Home on Saturday 17th August 2024. There was an afternoon in the garden with a BBQ and entertainment which made it feel like a garden fete. The singer was excellent and related to the audience very well. My aunt was in her wheelchair, as was her sister and there were just four carers for thirty-four residents, so the staff were working very hard! There was no manager, no admin and no head of care so I will be phoning next week for information.
