View Full Details of Barchester Warren Care HomeMum was in The Warren for 12 months the last couple of months, largely bed-bound, and died peacefully in her room. She has been well cared for - with professionalism and real warmth. The facilities are excellent and care all might be hoped for. In her last days she was comfortable and at peace. Family and visitors were always welcomed. Thank you.
The care that mum received in the final weeks of her life was outstanding. The senior care staff, in particular, went out of their way to ensure Mum's comfort and wellbeing. Medical assistance was sought at the appropriate time and their experience of working with people at the end of their life was evident. They communicated with the family at every stage and showed compassion as well as offering practical advice. Thank you.
One staff member in particular & the team organised a wonderful Mother's Day afternoon tea. It was a lovely celebration for the Mums in the home to share with their loved ones, the food was delicious and the entertainment really great too. My Mother in Law has been a resident for a few years and her needs have changed recently. All the carers look after her with respect, understanding and patience.
After a few weeks getting my mother settled in to a different way of life, she seems to be settling. The home is always warm, cosy & the staff are very kind & caring. Most days mum seems to like the food & the choice which is offered. The entertainment staff are amazing, my mother has enjoyed the variety that is offered in a daily basis. Overall I feel the Warren is the right home for my mother.
Taller people would benefit from a longer bed in respite room. Larger frame over toilet would help.
Excellent care with patience and dignity meant that I felt happy to leave my mother in someone else's hands knowing she would be well cared for. Many thanks to all staff and management for their pleasant and happy atmosphere. A home from home.
I spent two weeks at Barchester The Warren Care Home after being discharged from hospital. I think the staff are wonderful, very patient and helpful however it made me realise that a care home environment was not for me, so my stay was useful in clarifying my thoughts and it meant that I could return home, slightly more mobile, and it gave my relatives and opportunity to ready my house for me to go home safely when ready.
The management and staff here are kind, helpful, caring and thoughtful. My mother spent the last few weeks of her life here and they all made sure she was comfortable and pain-free. Everything in the home is of a high standard - the care, the food, furnishings, activities - just wonderful. Thank you to you all.
My mum is very happy in Barchester The Warren Care Home. The staff are really friendly, her room is kept nice and clean. The food is outstanding with good choices. My mum participates in some activities, as she is partially sighted.
Mum had lived at Barchester The Warren Care Home for over five years. She was very happy there and very well cared for. The staff were friendly and professional and as a family, we were very happy with the choice of care home and have no hesitation in recommending The Warren.
My father-in-law came to Barchester The Warren Care Home after a long period in hospital. The care and support he and we, as his family, received was wonderful. The carers treated him with dignity and kindness. We would like to thank all involved at The Warren Care Home.
What a fabulous care home. They have looked after my great-aunt for the last few years, last year was her 100th birthday. They hosted a lovely party. She has thrived during her time there. The events they put on and the interactions with the residents are second to none. Such lovely staff. Sadly, my great-aunt passed away last month and I will miss her and my visits with my grandchildren who adored her. Thank you to all the staff for making her final years so pleasurable.
This was my father's first experience of residency in a care home, albeit respite care. I am very pleased with the overall care he received during his sixteen-day stay. It is fair to say, he was reluctant to go but appeared to enjoy his stay. I found all the staff I came into contact with were both friendly and helpful. I have no doubt that he will be returning soon for other short stays to cover gaps in his normal care. Thank you to all staff at the home.
Dad stayed at Barchester The Warren Care Home for eleven days while we went on holiday. Although he was confused and a little insecure when we left him, we were confident that he would be well looked after. The home could not have been more helpful in all the communications leading up to the stay. We will certainly do this again when we next go on holiday.
Staff and carers were all friednly and gave support to Mum. Everyone in the home was approachable and helpful to situations that occurred. There was a general happy atmosphere throughout.
My dad was a resident at The Warren Care Home for 4 months (2 months respite care). He settled in well after my mum could no longer care for him at home (she is 88), the care he received was excellent. His health declined in the last month and the staff were so caring toward him. The day before he passed away, we were there at different times and the staff were so kind as we all knew the end was near, they made sure we had food and drink. Sadly Dad passed away in the early hours and the staff showed respect and compassion to the family there and were at hand if required. We will be eternally grateful to all the staff.
My uncle moved into The Warren in March 2023. He was getting confused and losing mobility. He was made very welcome and was always glad to return there after a hospital visit. He loved the food and was always chatting to the staff all of whom would say hello and check on him as they passed his room when he was too poorly to sit in the lounge. When he was nearing the end he chose to have palliative care at home rather than go to the hospital or a hospice. It was the right decision, everybody was so caring and kind, and they made a difficult time easier for both my Uncle and the family. In his final hours, he was never left alone and it was obvious just how much the staff cared. Their presence at his funeral was greatly appreciated and the wonderful flowers they sent. Would not hesitate to recommend The Warren to those looking for a safe, friendly, caring environment for their loved ones.
My dad moved into The Warren permanently in December 2021. Sadly he passed away in February 2024. Throughout his time at The Warren he was treated with kindness, respect and empathy by all the staff who were also very supportive and caring to the family too. The care home is clean, warm and well-maintained. There is a good variety of food on offer. Lots of activities are available for those who want to get involved. A big thankyou to all at The Warren.
When visiting always find managers and staff so friendly and accommodating. As I am a companion that is my work, the home is very clean and amazing in this day and age. When I visit and always someone there to let me in.
This care home is honestly amazing. It's clean, the staff are so lovely and welcoming and they are so genuine. I would recommend this care home to anyone. Lovely experience. I love seeing the care home doing the most for the residents.
