View Full Details of HazeldellMy mum had a stay at Hazeldell for respite care. The decision to send mum to Hazeldell came at a very stressful time for our family but was made easier by the incredibly friendly and helpful staff who showed us around and explained much of the technicalities of the stay. There was never a question they couldn't answer for us. Mum found the transition to care very difficult and it was a real worry for the family. However, the staff at Hazeldell were so very caring and always kept us well informed as to how mum was getting on. Nothing was too much trouble for us. While mum was there she was actively encouraged to engage in activities which were always available. The singers were a particular favorite of mum's. The food was always good. I would thoroughly recommend Hazeldell as a lovely place if anyone was thinking of a home for a loved one.
My brother-in- law has been a resident of Hazeldell for 2.5 years. I have a high regard for the entire team at Hazeldell, and I am speaking as a someone with high expectations and ex-manager of a home for people with dementia. I think the Team often goes above and beyond to give people with dementia a sense of security, self-agency and purpose. My brother-in-law rather surprisingly he felt at home there very quickly after his admission and his quality of life is much improved. The range of activities provided, and support to engage in those activities, is impressive. Communication with family is impressive too. The staff of Hazeldell make visitors and residents feel comfortable and included. I always find them helpful and in good cheer.
Walking into this care home instantly feels you the warmth you'd expect the residents to get. It feels like home. Mum is cared for, and I mean all her needs are met. Medication, food, all health general daily care. All updates are fed back to us as required. The staff are amazing. The manager goes above and beyond what is expected of her duties to help. We couldn't ask for better for mum
My uncle has been here since November 2024, and he has settled in well. The staff are all very friendly, caring, and competent in their care and support. The home has daily activities for the residents, and have singers/entertainment on a regular basis. The food is first class with multiple choices everyday.
My mother moved into Hazeldell in October 2024, and I can honestly say that she loves living there. Having previously lived on her own for a number of years, it was a major change for her, but she now refers to Hazeldell as her home. There is a very nice feel to Hazeldell - it is clean and tidy, with many facilities - and all the staff that I have encountered there, over many months, have been very friendly and polite, coming across as very caring individuals. The management team are great, and are always willing to accommodate requests in whatever way possible. There are many daily activities - far too many to list - which the residents are free to join in with (or not), as they please. Overall, I would have to say that Hazeldell is excellent.
My mother has been at Hazeldell since November 2024. I have not been able to fault anything so far. The home offers person centred care, and maintain independence where ever possible. I have not had any cause for concern since Mum has been a resident. The care staff and managers alike are always available and take an interest in both the residents and relatives. I am always kept up to date with any changes in Mums care needs. There is a vast array of activities on offer but never forced on the resident's. The home is well decorated and the rooms are nice and comfortable. The meal choices are displayed on a daily basis with a variety of dishes on offer. Tea and coffees are always available.
I cannot rate Hazeldell enough, I managed to place both my in laws with the amazing team, social services wanted them split up as their care needs were very different, my father in law needing nursing home care. I am a registered Nurse and own my own Domiciliary Care company so I knew exactly what I was looking for, I would recommend Hazeldell 100% to place a loved one there. We were always kept updated, my husband lost both his parents between September and December, the end of life care was impeccable thank you to your amazing team.
My Stepdad was in this care home for 2 years, he went straight there from hospital so we couldn't choose where he went. Some of the staff were lovely and caring however a few were quite abrupt to him, especially a member of staff who often gave him his medication as she spoke very sharply to him. On the night my stepdad died we were told as we left the manager would call me tomorrow with her condolences - but none of the staff made any contact with us to show their condolences at all. When we later looked through all of the boxes they had boxed up his belongings in for us, we were so upset to find that his very expensive antique clock was missing, we have emailed the manager regarding this, but she said nobody knows where this it. This has been a very upsetting experience for the family as the clock has been in our family for many years and is sentimental to us.
I feel confident that my mother-in-law is very well cared for. The staff are attentive to her needs and we are kept informed of any relevant health matters. I am also most impressed with the variety of activities available to support resident’s engagement and interaction.

This home is amazing, the staff are amazing, they all go above and beyond to make sure every resident is happy, I'm so glad I chose this home for my nan, a big well done to you all, thank you for everything you guys do.
Hazeldell has been very supportive, not only to my grandad but also to the family. Management is always available to discuss any concerns that we may have and so are other staff members. They are all very approachable, understanding and friendly. After 2 years of caring for Grandad ourselves, it was a very hard decision to make. To ask for help and assistance. But this was made so much easier with Hazeldell as they helped us go through the steps and kept us updated regularly. Hazeldell staff are all very professional and work to a very high standard of care, maintaining the dignity of service users at all times.
My relative had a short stay in hospital and the staff were excellent in liaising with me before she was admitted, during her stay, and when arranging for her return to the home. My relative feels safe in the home and is made to feel part of the Hazeldell family by all the staff whatever their role. It is always difficult to see a loved one go into care but to see her settled and cared for 24/7 certainly helps and being able to visit whenever I want with no prior arrangement assures me that this is the case.

It was my Mum and Dad's wedding anniversary and the team at Hazeldell went the extra mile to make it special for them. They set up a table in the conservatory with a lovely silver tablecloth on and balloons in a fancy vase, as if they were eating at a restaurant. This was very much appreciated and I know that Mum enjoyed being able to have a meal with Dad (and I did too). It was delicious and huge! Thank you to the team also for all the activities you provide for the residents. I know my Dad loved the rickshaw ride in particular, and the photos of the residents enjoying their day are great to see.
