View Full Details of Mills MeadowMy mum, was originally going to the day centre at Mills Meadow regularly twice a week. She always came out happy and smiling, and the whole team there were so attentive and caring to mum when she was there. They spoke to us about any concerns that they had, the communication between us was so beneficial. Mum then came into the actual home at Mills Meadow, sadly only for 2 days, as she passed away very quickly. During the 2 days that mum was there, the kindness and compassion that was shown to her was beyond anything we had expected. Every member of staff, from the ladies in the reception, through to the overnight care team, were just so caring. Not only for mum but also for us relatives too. Nothing was too much trouble, they went above and beyond to make sure mum was comfortable, and well cared for right to the end. Amazing team of people.
From the initial visit to see if you could help with respite care to mum leaving has been an exceptional, outstanding service. Carers have been so kind to mum and she was very very appreciative of the care and help ans she made her recover to walking again. You have kept me updated and informed as necessary throughout the two weeks. Thank you to every member of the team on the "Sheeran" ward who looked offer and cared for mum.
My wife passed away in Mills Meadow after four years, suffering with dementia. In all this time, she was treated in a caring and professional way. I cannot fault Mills Meadow and its staff in anyway. I will always be grateful for the way she was looked after in her final years.
As a family, we are so grateful to have chose Mills Meadow for our mum. As her needs have increased over the last 18 months, staff have shown her every care and kindness possible. We can relax knowing that she is content and so well looked after. From reception to care staff and housekeeping, everyone is so friendly, treating residents and family members alike with respect, interest and understanding. Recently a member of staff visited Mum in hospital travelling 20 miles on her day off because she knew it was hard for any of us to get there. That says it all really. Thank you, everyone at Mills Meadow.
Fabulous care home - all the staff that care for our Mum are wonderful. There are lots of activities for the residents to join in with and we are kept up to date with what's happening. We are very happy with the care and attention that Mum gets.
He has been at Mills Meadow since December 2022. He really loves living there and feels very well looked after and cared for. His weeks are always full with activities, socialising and meals in the dining room. He has a lovely view from his room which is important to him as he's lived in the area all his life.
Mills Meadow and all the staff have made my mum so welcome. They have encouraged her to join in on activities, which are varied and stimulating. The food is excellent and we are more than happy with the care and attention she has there. We would also like to commend them for their excellent communication as to what is happening in all situations.
I would like to commend this home on its wonderful atmosphere and care towards residents and activities and to say how good their communication is with us as the family. It is so helpful to know that they will contact us to discuss concerns and that we can do the same.
My aunt was admitted to Mills Meadow for two weeks of respite care after needing support after a fall at home. Despite being in the Christmas/New Year period the management of Mills Meadow responded very quickly to this urgent request and was able to provide 24-hour care for these two weeks. Building a further understanding of the needs of my aunt, management organised a transfer to another care home (Hartismere Place) for further respite care closer to her own home and friends. Throughout her stay at Mills Meadow staff were very caring. understanding and helpful, and the management team was professional and efficient throughout.
At Mills Meadow, the staff are amazing and really have the resident's needs front and centre in their service delivery. The administration support has been first class. This centre deserves its outstanding CQC rating from our experience. A welcoming, warm, human-centred, resident-focused. Community with dogs welcomed and a live-in cat for residents contact.
Very caring towards residents. The staff are always very friendly and helpful.
My dad was a resident for the last 7 months and the care all the staff showed him was second to none. They looked after him so well and showed so much patience with him regarding his dementia. He was always kept very clean and smartly dressed. Nothing was too much trouble for all the staff. He was always invited to take place with the endless activities and entertainment taking place and was even taken out on day trips. The staff not only looked after my dad but made my mum very welcome on the days she visited, and also other members of our family. We cannot thank all the staff enough, they all became part of our family whilst Dad was a resident. They all work tirelessly and deserve as much credit as anyone could possibly give them.
My mother-in-law was treated with care and dignity all through the stressful moving-in period. As a former cook, she was particularly impressed with the food. The staff and management are professional and very knowledgeable of their industry.
Overall I feel the home is good however I have a sister in the dementia wing, I do realise that this is a hugely difficult job for the staff, but it appears to me on numerous occasions when I visit, that there is a definite shortage of staff especially at meal times when most residents heed help. Would it not be possible to employ more staff at meal times to assist residents? This would then take a shorter time and allow more time for staff to interact with the residents instead of just being left sitting in chairs. At approximately £1,700 per week surely there is room for this within the fees.
My wife, who has Alzheimer's, has been a service user of the Mills Meadow Daycare Club since the autumn of last year. She attends two days a week. The staff are amazing, including the manager. Everyone is made to feel welcome as soon as they arrive. The setting is warm and friendly. The clients are looked after and can take part in activities to stimulate them if they want to. If not, they can just sit quietly. They have regular visits from children and also live music. From my point of view, it gives me a few hours break each week which is really helpful for my mental and physical health. I am so glad a friend recommended Mills Meadow Daycare Club. I can't praise them highly enough and don't know what I would do without them.
I have visited my old friend at Mills Meadow. We had the most beautiful time. The atmosphere was magnificent. The care team were very helpful and the home manager received us with the most warm welcome even though they had never seen us before. My friend said that she was the most lucky person to be living there, where she always had something to do.
Mum has been a resident for a few years now. It gives us great peace of mind knowing that she is well looked after. Mum feels at home in Mills Meadow; she particularly enjoys her daily routine of walking around the garden, weekly hairdressing appointments and going on outings when the minibus is available. In our experience, staff are friendly as well as professional and make an effort to meet the wishes of each individual resident.
Very caring staff. Very good food. A very comfortable place for mother to live. Always warm and clean. Mother is very happy there. The support and management team is always approachable and very helpful.
I absolutely love this care home, I can’t wait to see the pictures posted on social media after my dads visits. He was reluctant at first but my mum tells me he’s really enjoying the day care. He’s very young to have been diagnosed but with the support provided by Mills Meadow Care Home my mum is getting the well deserved rest she needs and my dad is meeting new people and engaging in fun activities.
The overall experience for my mum since she arrived 18 months ago has been outstanding. All staff are so very attentive in providing a very high level of both emotional and physical care. The management, kitchen staff, cleaners and housekeeping also engage with the residents which goes a long way to helping everyone feel “at home”. The friendly, relaxing, yet professional atmosphere that has been created at the home is a testament to the hard work and commitment of all those working there. From my experience, I wouldn’t have any hesitation in recommending Mills Meadow to any prospective resident.
