Mum resided at Tilsley House from January 2026 until May 2026. Mum had vascular dementia that was quite advanced and so her needs were complex. The staff at Tilsley were wonderful throughout and cared for mum, prioritising her dignity and need for reassurance. The home pays a lot of attention to
wellbeing, with dedicated staff and activities to ensure residents are stimulated and have quality of life. During the last days of mum's life it was dear that staff genuinely cared for mum and we were very well supported through a very difficult time.

Our mother has been in Tilsley House care home over a year. The home provide the support needed and do much to keep mum mentally stimulated and entertained. Mum always says how she enjoys the home. The care team are always on hand and are friendly and helpful. The Home has a great relationship with
the local medical services and ensure that changes in response to drugs or behavior are noted and assessed in case there is a need for intervention.
During the nice weather the Care team ensure that there are plenty of fluids and even ice creams, they also make full use of their large garden so that people get plenty of fresh air.
The Home's management team are accessible, very friendly and helpful.
I am so pleased that we found this home for mum, as it couldn't be better for her.

I'm just posting a follow-up review as Mum has now been living at Tilsley House for almost 2 years! She continues to tell me that she is in "the best place". All of the team look out for Mum and there has been several occasions where they have picked on early signs that Mum is slightly off colour.
They immediately bring in the GP to discuss options and ensure the best possible treatment. Food is so important to someone the age of my Mum to ensure she keeps her strength up. There is always plenty of choice and lots of snacks and biscuits available during the day. And of course, plenty of fluids via soft drinks and lots of cups of tea. Mum used to suffer regularly from dehydration and resulting UTI's before living at Tilsley. She hasn't suffered from dehydration once since moving in! Everyone continues to treat Mum with respect and there is always a bit of ribbing which my Mum loves. She feels safe, whilst stimulated. Thank you Tilsley team for being such wonderful carers

Mum has been a resident for almost two years now and she is very well cared for.
The Carers look out for Mum and will always contact the GP if they or Mum has any has any medical concerns.
It is great that the Carers encourage Mum to get
involved in activities especially the craft work as Mum has always had a passion in making things. Mum is knitting and doing jigsaws which is great as it keeps her going which is so important.
Mum also loves the banter she has with some of the Carers. They are great and when I see the contact it makes Mum smile and laugh which is so lovely to see.
The Team also make us feel very welcome when we visit offering us a drink which is very kind.
Mum also enjoys the food, which is varied and they know Mums likes and dislikes which is great.
Thank you and keep up the good work Tilsley

Our sister was a resident at Tilsley House for the last three years of her life. She suffered from early onset Alzheimer's disease.
We visited her several times a week for the duration of her stay. We always found the team at Tilsley House to be caring, friendly and supportive. They looked after
all our sister's needs including personal care. Whenever we visited, she would be clean and wearing freshly laundered clothes and her room and toilet were spotless. She enjoyed the food and always had something to drink by her side.
In the last week of our sister's life, when we spent a lot of time by her bedside, the carers were extremely supportive to all of us, for which we are very grateful.

Mum came into Tilsley House on Respite after a fall at home. As soon as we came we were made welcome and felt like family straight away. Mum decided after 2 weeks that she would like to live here because no matter how much help and support she needs there is always someone here to help. Its now
been almost 2 months she has been here and its lovely to see her settled , with company and happy. Every one of the staff are lovely and greet our family happily. Thank you for helping us through some tough times. We recommend Tilsley House with the highest regards.

The nursing staff are good, however, the nurses in charge are not good at all. I had to place my sister into safe guarding care and was grateful to Tilsley to accept her. The trouble was that my sister had a urine infection when she arrived that took 9 days for the staff to get anti biotics to treat
her. They blamed a mix up with the doctors as they used a different practice to my sisters GP. It was only after i rang both practices that she received the treatment she needed. They also decided to stop her Strong pain medication and replace it with Paracetamol!! without consultation. Leaving my sister in immense pain and withdrawal from a medication she had been on for years. It was a huge relief to find her a place else where so she no longer suffered from the, in my opinion, incorrect decisions of the senior nursing staff.

My Mum has been provided the best care and support at Tilsley House for the past 20 years. That care was also extended to the family. All staff became her friends and family. With the utmost dignity, Mums' needs were addressed with respect. The atmosphere is a happy peaceful one, with
entertainment, crafts, gardening club and Sunday services. Good is home cooked, with variety and delicious. I cannot speak highly enough of the Managers and entire Team. She craved a sanctuary and Tilsley House provided that and so much more.

My Mum went to Tilsley House in February 2025 after a long stay in hospital. After a short period she began to eat again after not eating hardly at all in the hospital so that was a huge relief to myself and sister. The staff were great with her, and couldn't have asked for more from then, very
caring and kind. She would have stayed at Tilsley permanently but unfortunately it was just to far from her family and we had to move her closer to us. I would ;just like to say a huge thankyou to all at Tilsley House for looking after Mum so well for us.
14 February 2025
Mum came to Tilsley House for respite care following a spell in hospital after a fall. Her stay in hospital had been particularly stressful and Mum hadn't slept well or wanted to eat during the time she was there. Tilsley House was the perfect haven for her after this experience. The managers of the
home were confident that they could support her with improving her mobility and could give her the care and attention needed in order for her to recover her appetite and strength. She has a lovely room with an en-suite, which Mum was able to access independently quite soon after her arrival. All staff are very kind and there is a welcoming, friendly, family atmosphere to the home. I am impressed by the way they work together, whatever their role, for the benefit of the residents.

My Aunt became a permanent resident at Tilsley House in July this year. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's a few years ago and her move to Tilsley House related to her advancing condition and her having falls. As a family we cannot emphasize the wonderful care our Aunt gets. All of the care workers
are so kind and their experience shows. We are also impressed with the social activities they provide on a daily basis. Our Aunt has flourished, taking an active part in the activities and is now eating regular meals which she wasn't doing at home. The management are very visible and have been extremely helpful if we have needed to ask them anything about our Aunt's care. We would definitely recommend Tilsley House to anyone with a relative or friend who needs care.

Mum has been in Tilsley for 2.5 years and is 102 years old. She has a lovely room with an en-suite. Meals are lovely, with lots of tea/coffee throughout the day. The staff are very caring and Mum is very happy there. They always make us as a family very welcome. And keep us informed when she is
unwell, although there are not many days when one of us is not visiting. We also have meetings with the nurse from the GP surgery who visits the home regularly. I would recommend Tilsley to anyone looking for a home for their loved one.

My uncle came to the care home straight from hospital following a fall. They did a great job of settling him in and making him feel safe despite his confusion. They made a real effort to get to know him and his interests. They were approachable and helpful with any concerns we had.
I would have
been happy to make this placement permanent however for convenience we moved him to a home closer to us.
The activity coordinator was particularly lovely and helpful. They all do a great job in difficult circumstances.

My dad had passed away in January 2024, and Mum was in emergency accomodation. We had her with us for 3 days prior to my dad's funeral and I couldn't cope with her. So came to Tilsley House a day before she was due. I cannot fault the staff here. They are all so lovely and caring and very helpful.
Lovely family vibes, Mum loves it here, I am so glad we chose Tilsley House.

My dad lived at Tilsley House for nearly 2 years. He was very happy there and was very well cared for by all the amazing staff. He enjoyed daily life at Tilsley whether reading his paper, going for a walk over the park of listening to the visiting singer.

kindness right until the end.

My dad moved into Tilsley House in August 2022. From the moment we arrived, Dad was made to feel very welcome. He soon settled in and was happy to go for a walk most days in Clarence Park. Towards the end of Dad's life after being in hospital for a number of weeks he longed to return to "his forever
home" (Tilsley House). We cannot thank the management and all the staff enough during those last few days. They were so supportive and friendly and allowed us to visit Dad day and night. Thank you!
15 August 2023
Mum moved into Tilsley House after living independently in her own home for 61 years, the staff were amazing so kind and caring making her feel so welcome. Mum was beginning to find everyday tasks increasingly difficult and the staff treated her with nothing but dignity and respect as they helped
her navigate her new life. Sadly she was diagnosed with end-stage kidney disease after a short time and we as a family with the support of the staff made the decision to keep her in Tilsley House. The kindness, care and love she received before her passing was outstanding and we as a family would like to thank the entire Tilsley House staff for everything they did for her and for us. Thank you.
18 August 2022
My mother died in Hospital after an illness. The staff visited her and made a complaint when they found her distressed- the hospital tried to say someone was coming to change her but the care home staff did this. The hospital was unhelpful registering her death, despite the manager's efforts. Prior
to this, they kept Mum safe from covid and cared for her. I live in Australia and they always made me feel part of the family that was looking after her. With the difficulties with the hospital and registering Mum's death, the manager and her team have gone above and beyond what they needed to do and what was expected of them. I cannot recommend Tilsley House enough. Thanks to every one of the staff.
