Tilsley House is a delightful residential care home providing care for older people, offering many single and en-suite.

The period building is set in large, beautiful gardens and overlooks Clarence Park – a few minutes walk from the beach front.

Staff provide excellent care in a home that has a calm and happy atmosphere. Some residents have been with them for over 20 years and they continually receive very complimentary comments from the families of loved ones who stay. Among the staff are some who have been there for over 20 years. The well-being of residents is at the heart of all that they stand for at Tilsley House.

Residents are encouraged to remain active, and to that end they strive to involve them in a variety of activities. They also have regular services and prayer meetings for those residents to whom faith is important. They find that this provides a great deal of comfort to both staff and residents, and contributes to the ethos and generally tranquil atmosphere at Tilsley House.

They offer, full residential care, day care, respite care and holiday care.

Generally, I am very happy with the care given to my father. As everywhere, some staff are more helpful than others, but most are excellent. Communication between family and staff can sometimes be a problem but that is being worked on now. My Dad's room is looking 'tired' now and needs redecorating but other people's rooms look nice. I usually have to tidy it when I visit, but it is generally clean. Standards of care, activities, and decor in the home have improved considerably over the past year.

I feel the feedback is very fair. They have always worked with us to help improve our service. I am glad the reviewer feels that much progress has been made over the past year and that she would be happy to recommend our home to others. We will continue to work with residents and families to further improve our service.

My 91 year old dad was very unwell and extremely unhappy in hospital. The manager at Tilsley House was so prompt in her assessment and acceptance of dad. Nothing was too much trouble and he moved into the home on an (we hoped) interim basis until adequate care could be arranged. Sadly, he was very confused initially, but the staff were amazing and supported him and our family.
Unfortunately he became ill again, but the Tilsley team were prompt to act to get him back to hospital where he passed away. Thanks to all the staff, sorry this took so long but now mum is in hospital.
