View Full Details of Penberthy Residential Care HomeMy wife in care for the last 3 months, and has settled very well. This has been assisted by the professional she had received. The management and staff have given us both every support during this time. There kindness and cheerful care have been a tonic for us both. I could not be happier that my wife is in the care of such a welcoming and happy group of people. My experience has been a very positive one, so well done to the management and staff for your continued support. "Happy husband"
My Nan has been in Penberthy for a year now after struggling to manage at home with carers coming in. The carers, administration team, and management at Penberthy have been excellent with my Nan, and have always kept me informed of any issues and have always followed up any concerns I have raised regarding Nan's health. I visit most days and the atmosphere it always welcoming. The activities co-ordinator regularly organises trips out for the residents to keep them occupied, as well as having day to day activities for them to get involved in. Whilst it's not like being at home, my Nan has thrived since being in the care home as it gives her the mental stimulus and social environment that she lacked when at home. The meals are always well balanced, and there is variety for the residents. Whilst care is obviously expensive, it has given me peace of mind knowing that my Nan is well looked after and cared for in the home. She is always treated with dignity and respect by members of staff.
A lovely home with great staff that are friendly and make you welcome. They provide great care to the residents.
I live the other side of the country. I keep in touch with my cousin frequently via phone. Today is the first time I have visited her. Home is welcoming, staff friendly a lovely atmosphere. All the residents were well dressed and content. Lunch looked excellent. The staff are very professional and caring. It was a pleasure to visit. My cousin has made friends and is well looked after. They do lots of activities and also trips.
We visited last year when on holiday in Bodmin we just called in the staff were so pleasant the home we so lovely and clean and the residents were happy clean and well cared for, a year on and the staff are brilliant it was red nose day and a lot of activities, food looking lovely and again the residents were happy and so well cared for, I would have no hesitation for any of my relatives to come here.
When my mum first came to the home she was a bit upset about being in a home, she's been there since January and she has settled in ready well, the staff are great they have a very challenging role and they all do it so well, mum like being at the home, the home its self is always clean the food is great they have great choice and always looks and smells wonderful, Mums eating is so much better as she sits with friends, the rooms are keep clean and tidy at all times, no bad smells, you can vist anytime day or night always get a warm welcome a nice cup of tea or coffee and biscuits, the staff are so friendly and kind, I look forward to visting mum as I know she is well looked after and is happy to be there, I would recommend this home to anyone that needs a good home for there lived one,
My mum has been a resident for a number of years now. She says she likes the staff there. When mum is having a bad day the staff seem very understanding. A GP is called when needed, chiropodist etc. There's a very pleasant atmosphere at the home. Mum enjoys the singing entertainment and having her hair done. Overall management and staff do a very good job in field of work that isn't easy.
The staff seemed very pleasant, made us a drink and biscuits when we arrived. The lady we visited looked well looked after and seemed to have a good relationship with the staff. The room was very nice, although would have been nice if she had an ensuite shower. Unable to comment on activities, facilities, value for money or management.
The home itself (building) could do with a lick of paint but the staff are amazing. The staff are always friendly, helpful and kind. I feel happy that my Mum is being looked after and cared for in a safe environment.
Do not under any circumstances have any member of your family admitted to this home. We love, adore our mum and wanted the best for her. We were assured she would be looked after. Sadly the opposite. After getting safeguarding involved thankfully she is now having showers but her weight still dropping drastically and still not hoisted properly into bed or chair dependent on staff working. So many times we've arrived and wet through and hanging off the edge of the chair. Given overdose of tablets, sat with no teeth in. Nobody even noticed (mum is so particular about this! Arrived one morning, Mum covered in snot distressed. The team leader oblivious, sat eating her breakfast, even when pointing this is out said I've just wiped her nose, no tissues anywhere and then got a blue roll out of kitchen! So many incidents, heartbreaking. Last incident left in a wheelchair on her own in her room and fell. Heartbroken, all we want is for our mum to be safe and looked after.

Penberthy House has provided such relief to my father's family. We are assured he is being looked after by such a wonderful team. They are always accommodating on my visits, making it feel like a home away from home. Over the time he has been there, the staff have always been so welcoming and talkative and it's been a pleasure getting to know each one. It really assures me that he's being looked after by caring, emphatic and passionate individuals that have a good sense of humour. It has given me peace of mind.
