View Full Details of PinehurstBoth of my parents have been residents at Pinehurst Care Home for over 2 years. From the moment that my wife and I entered the building, before they moved there we were immediately struck by the warmth of the place and the kindness and great care from all of the staff. At Pinehurst they not only provide a wonderful service to the residents but also reassurance to the families. They will call you if there is something that you need to know but they do not worry you with a running commentary which we have found to be the right balance. I have nothing but praise for them and i would not hesitate to recommend them. Thank you so much everyone at Pinehurst Care Home.
My Mum was in the care home for two years. She had vascular dementia. Prior to becoming a resident she had been in hospital for 4 weeks. In this period I had time to visit a number of different care homes in North Devon looking for somewhere suitable. My wife and I met the manager and staff at Pinehurst. Having seen others we made our decision immediately reserving a room. The building is an old Victorian structure and the interior is a little dated. However it is warm in temperature and atmosphere and most importantly feels like home not a home. Patients with Dementia can benefit from dated memorabilia rather than clinical modernity. Asthetics aside the most important consideration should be the level and consistency of care. I cannot praise the staff highly enough for the care they provided. They all treated Mum with kindness and respect and helped her retain her dignity. If you need to make such an important decision for a loved one then I recommend Pinehurst without reservation.
