I was advised I would not be able to care for my husband for the first couple of weeks following a minor eye op. I was also desperately in need of a break-from my caring role. Therefore, hoped he would be able to stay at the Red House which had been recommended a few years ago and where he had
been before.
Great experience for me. I knew he was in a safe and caring environment and when I called in to see him he was very happy.

The team at The Red House have made our first experience of residential care as pleasant as could be possible. The team are sensitive and helpful whilst acting in a professional, respectful, effective and efficient manner. I cannot praise them highly enough. They treat all the guests with respect
and kindness and provide required assistance in a calm and dignified manner.
They provide daily, suitable and fun activities and provide active encouragement to the residents to participate at their own pace and abilities.
The house is light and airy with plenty of areas for groups and, therefore, company, as well as quiet reflective corners and of course personal rooms.
The garden is lovely with fabulous views over the moors.
Visitors are warmly welcomed and not made to feel a necessary inconvenience.
In all, I cannot imagine a better environment and feel we have struck very lucky in finding The Red House.

My aunt decided that she could no longer live independently and said that of all the local care homes, she wanted to come here. She has not been disappointed, and with the transfer to new ownership the house has only improved further. She has particularly commented on the delicious food and the
interesting visits from different animals to the home, and she has also enjoyed the opportunity to talk to the owner occasionally on his visits to meet the residents.
The staff are incredibly warm and caring and I feel often go above and beyond to look after the people in their charge. You can feel the welcome as soon as you walk through the front door; it's proof that it's the people and their commitment that really make the place.

The care, love and attention my grandmother has received from all of the Red House staff has been exceptional. They have taken time to get to know her, to support and encorage her to get the most out of her time with them.
The house, is warm and welcoming and the staff go out of their way to make
it feel like home.

I have found Red House at Yelverton to be a very warm and caring home. All the staff are very friendly, helpful and have the residents best interests and wellbeing at heart.
The house is kept clean, tidy and comfortable for all (residents and visitors).
The meals look nice and not over loaded
plates, colour in the vegetables and verity of choice.
I have no complaints for The Red House, only not their fault - not being able to park on the road outside the home because the neighbours complain as it's a private road. I know The Red House pay for the use of it. I have to drive to visit
my cousin as do many visitors and parking is tight.
A good selection of activities.
Other than that I have no complaints or concerns about my cousin staying with with The Red House, he is doing well there and wants to stay.

My husband Simon, who has Alzeimers, had a weeks respite care and had a lovely time even finding himself a girlfriend there - the staff there were so kind and lovely and we would definitely go back there again

My Mum had been in this care home for almost two and a half years.
It is a lovely home with very good food.
All the staff were brilliant with Mum and looked after her very well.
Thank you all so very much.

My mother was an emergency respite placement following an awful hospital discharge. She was very unwell but right from the start all the carers and other staff have been extremely caring, kind and supportive to my mother. As time has gone on she is still not well and it has become apparent that she
is unable to return home and is now a long term resident. If my sister and I have had any concerns about anything these have been addressed immediately. They have kept us in the loop and informed us immediately when my mother has been unwell and either ambulance or GP has had to be contacted.

Initially I took Mum to the Red House for day care and respite for my Dad. The staff were and still are amazing. So caring and professional. Mum was treated like one of the family, I dont think praise can come much higher than that!
All the residents seem happy and there is a full activity
schedule. The home has animals, singers, musicians and entertainers to keep the residents entertained. The home is clean, without that smell you can experience in other care homes. Full credit here to the management and cleaning staff.
I cannot single out any one individual for recognition, as everyone is truly special.
Yes the home could do with some updating and cosmetic improvements and I understand that the new owners are looking into this. That said it doesn't distract from the overall positive experience. The Red House is then, highly recommended.

A very homely environment which was very important and part of the reason for choosing the Red House. Wonderful activities throughout the week which have helped Mum to be more active and no longer isolated as she was at home. She always has someone to talk to now. She has settled in well.
I
struggle with knowing the best way to communicate with he team except when I visit. I am never quite sure what Mum has been doing on a daily basis and wondered how this could be improved.
Mum is very happy here and that is what is most important to us as a family. Thank you

Our Dad is very well cared for at The Red House. We know that he is loved by the staff who know him very well and are very tolerant in some difficult times. Dad has a lovely room that has been adapted for him and he has lots of opportunities for activities - that he is encouraged to do but only if
he wants to take part. Dad is well cared for in terms of his medical needs and staff are pro-active and communicative. The Red House has an active social media page and we love seeing all the planned activities and the photos and videos on there - this is so valuable to us. The food is also wonderful. Thank you to all the team.

As soon as I walked through the front door of Red House I knew it was the right care home to choose for my friend. She is very well looked after and safe at Red House. The staff are very friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. My friend has special dietary needs and these needs are met
with a good and varied diet. There are lots of activities throughout the week which my friend enjoys. My friend often tells me how caring the staff are and that she is happy and well looked after at Red House.

My dad has been in the Red House for over 2 years - initially as a day resident and respite and then as a full time resident. The team are all amazing. The personalised care they provide, knowing their residents, focussing their approach on the individuals needs. This care also extends to the family
- they recognise how difficult it can be when a family member gets to the point of needing such a setting. The events they organise throughout the year, the meals, cakes and the choice is great. Thank you

My mum was given residency after a bad fall she was made welcome from day one and has been very well cared for the rooms are well equipped all the staff are friendly and helpful Sarah the manager always takes time to speak to all residents which is a nice touch and makes them feel at home. The rooms
are very nice and well maintained as is the whole place.

Very friendly atmosphere as soon as you walk in the door - feels like "home" straightaway. Care very good - nothing is too much trouble! Staff very friendly and obliging. Rooms very comfortable, (although mine does not get Wi-Fi and I have to go downstairs to use the internet, but I understand this
will be rectified sometime in the future). Very clean and facilities very good. Various activities - no danger of getting bored.

The Red House has met all expectations without exception. It has always had a well-respected reputation, and I can confirm that my mother is very happy here.

Very happy that my father has such a beautiful room with great views, in a lovely location. Very attentive staff. The minibus is a great addition and can take him to hospital appointments. The home appears progressive, allowing my father a virtual assistant technology device in his room and a coffee
making machine. All in all, we feel that during the current pandemic, the home is performing excellently.

much appreciated knowing that mum was in such good hands.
