Kind, Caring, knowledgeable and supportive.
My mother had dementia (Alzheimer's) and so was not always easy or receptive to support from the carers. Yet, the care, kindness and standard of professional support was outstanding. My mum loved the countryside and so the setting was perfect for her.
Both the management and care team were very helpful, compassionate and supportive of me, and especially when my mum's health rapidly deteriorated. If there is such a thing as a 'good death' my mum had it with the help of the team at Treelands. My heartfelt thanks to all of the staff - you are rare and so very much appreciated. Philippa.

Dad resides in the atrium portion of Treelands. He is content and enjoys the opportunity to go outside in his wheel chair during the summer. During his stay there his condition has degraded so he can no longer get out of his wheelchair unassisted. The owner has modified his on-suite to allow him
to get his wheel chair and lift apparatus as close to the toilet as possible. This was above expectations. Dad has been in the hospital a few times while residing at Treelands. The doctors at the hospital tell me he is at the end of life and they do not want him back. However, the Treelands team never give up. This was evidenced during December 2025 when the hospital sent him home on Oxygen. By February he had recovered and no longer needs to have Oxygen and is back to his old self. The ownership and management at Treelands have a high standard of care and when they see something is not right get it sorted. This is evidenced by the owner who is often doing rounds on weekends.

Used this care home for respite for my great aunt, she's very particular about her routine and I can't thank the team here enough. They made everything super easy and she absolutely loved the people looking after her.
Very clean, lovely activities and really personal experience, couldn't
recommend enough - thank you!

My Nan came into Treelands early December as she was struggling at home and had a fall. Nan has always been a very independent lady and always said she never wanted to go into a home. Initially we booked two weeks respite for her to be able to recover with 24/7 care which she agreed to. Nan is now
refusing to leave! She is a lot better, has made new friends, says the food is as good as a hotel and the staff are wonderful and so kind to her! She also kept mentioning a man called "Tony" who is very kind to her and he is the Gardner. We have since found out that "Tony" is actually the owner of treelands and comes in 7 days a week to see everyone and make sure they are ok! We were gobsmacked to say the least! Treelands is a family run business and the owners and staff have done nothing but made my nan feel totally at home, safe and relaxed. Nan has now chosen to become a permanent resident as she is so happy there. Treelands we cannot thank you enough! 5 stars well deserved!

Determining the right care placement for a relative is extremely daunting. It's imperative that your loved one is in a caring and supportive environment. As a family we have found Treelands to have been the best possible decision we could have made for our mum. They totally understand mums specific
needs and quickly respond to any new situation, informing / updating us immediately. Her room and communal spaces are clean and well kept. Meals are varied and appealing.

Having viewed four other care homes locally and been disappointed with the lack of provision of double rooms for my parents, who have been married for 76 years, we were delighted to discover Treelands. Mum and Dad have settled very happily into their double room and were delighted to also be offered
a lounge overlooking beautiful Devon farmland. All staff are welcoming, very friendly and treat residents with respect and dignity. Mum and Dad enjoy the home-cooked meals and taking part in the daily activities. We feel so confident that this is the perfect place for them to be. Many thanks to everyone at Treelands.

Mum has been at Treelands for over a year now. It was not an easy decision and the first few weeks were hard for all of us as she had been very independent and settling into a completely different environment and accepting help was not easy.
Due to her failing health Mum needs more help now and
she is treated with respect and dignity.
The team at Treelands are friendly and supportive to Mum and to us. They keep us informed if Mum has any health issues and when we visit we feel like members of the Treelands family.
Nothing is perfect but on the very rare occasions we've had any concerns or have been unsure about anything, the home manager and her team have been more than happy to listen, clarify things and take on board any comments we have.
I am happy that Mum is safe, well cared for and as happy as she can be with her health issues and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Treelands.

Treelands is a very friendly environment for my grandmother with dementia, the staff go above and beyond to cater for her very particular needs. I know she is in safe hands for however long she has left with us. The staff lovely and very helpful with anything she could possibly need or want and the
environment is peaceful. Thank you all at Treelands for making it easier on us as a family, as many know dementia isn't easy to live with.

I am very happy here, and looked after very well.
07 March 2025
Treelands as with all care homes is a welcoming home, and to begin with we were glad to get Dad into care. Sadly the level of care is not where it should be, I should point out my father is an 89 year old man who has dementia and diabetes, he is partially double incontinent, as such his care needs
are fairly significant. Despite treelands being aware of his care needs, he was left very much to get on with it, as a result his personal hygiene nose dived, it took multiple telephone calls and f2f discussions to get my Dad on the "Bath roster" notwithstanding the fact there are no showers in the main residence, new residents are not automatically added to the schedule amazes me. Physical security is a great worry, on numerous occasions my frail 89 year Dad with advanced dementia was found outside in the car park. In the 6 weeks Dad was at Treelands, so many times we were told Dad had fallen, sorry but care appears to be reactive only. This home needs to review its onboarding process.

Mother has been very happy and well looked after here. She has not always taken advantage of all of the facilities offered but the staff have tried very hard to do their best to keep her happy and amused as well as well looked after physically.

My mother has been a resident at Treelands for 7 months and from the moment she arrived, the staff made her feel welcome, safe and truly cared for. The team is incredibly compassionate, patient and professional, always going above and beyond to ensure that residents are comfortable and happy. They
take the time to engage with everyone personally, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere. The level of care provided is outstanding, and it's clear that they treat residents like family. The facilities are clean, well-maintained and provide a homely and peaceful environment. Activities are varied and well-organized, keeping residents active and engaged. My mother especially enjoys singing with visiting musicians and choirs, which has made a huge difference in her well-being. Communication with families is also excellent, the staff keep us informed and very involved, something that gives us great peace of mind. Knowing that Mum is in such good hands makes all the difference.
Thank you.

Thank you to all the staff at Treelands for looking after Mum. She was with you for a short time only but she enjoyed being there. Thank you also for your support when Mum sadly passed away, it was very much appreciated.

Overall, very good, most of the staff are good but the odd few aren't.
Room cleaning could be better.
Management are very good and the secretary is very good, always helpful. Having ward rounds are great.

This was my first experience of a care home and after all the horror stories you read about, I was pleasantly surprised at the care I received.

My mother has been living at Treelands for 2 and a half years and on the whole is settled, despite her personal reasons of living in the home. Unfortunately her own personal pain threshold has been a concern and the home have dealt with the right, quick methods of help. The front door is always shut
and I am greeted and door opened! Book for signing in for visitors is always ready to sign for in and out. The home is clean, but in areas shows wear and tear and looks old but it is busy used and a lot of coming and going, so is to be expected.
The home is extremely busy and busy sometimes more than other times but it follows. Occasionally you think an extra member of staff is needed but when there are ambulances, paramedics on site exits cleared and dealing with residents doctors paramedics for example, it's busy to be expected! Great organisation and well handled.
I am made to feel welcome on every single visit. I now know staff by face and by name and they remember me (a good thing I hope).
Staff are very kind to me and, I note, to Mother.
I know there is care and attention to Mother, Mother knows but I can see as Mother can't express or explain, but she reacts and there is warmness on everyone's parts!
The home is clean and tidy. I can tell food goes down well. Mother likes the food. I have been allowed to stay during meal times and offered drinks etc. In this area, as other areas, it is not too much trouble to staff. I thank staff for their consideration over food and drink!
I have spoken to the kitchen manager/chefs, they are friendly staff and they answer all of my questions. Food is presentable and smells nice. Residents eat well and there are suitable choices. My questions are on Mother's choices of food and if she eats. This is all answered for me.
Mother's personal care is answered if mother needs clothing and recently new slippers. I am informed. I like to know! I want to know so again I am grateful for the time taken.
I am regularly kept up to date on all necessary happenings regarding my mother. I am the first point of contact next of kin. I live in another county and have an hours journey there and another hour return home. The staff are aware of my travelling arrangement's. I receive emails, phone calls informing me of all upcoming vaccinations. hospital appointments, illness, if doctors are called etc. All in line with home regulations. If calls are missed then staff call again and update with emails. I have never not known any of these details I have mentioned. I am always kept well informed and for this alone I am very grateful to all staff.
The hairdresser call and foot doctor comes regularly. This works very well and I can see and tell these appointments are carried out any payment is quick and easy. I speak to these businesses and I am able to assess their reactions to having seen and carried out appointments in the home and it all feels good and sounds great after these appointments.
I like reading the notice board which is interesting and informative. As a family we have been invited to various events run at the home. This is extremely nice! Well catered for.
The home keep a petty cash file which I have noted is kept up to date, have been shown and is documented. If the petty cash tin goes low, then I am allowed to top up. It is a great scheme and well organised.
Lastly, I have to mention my deepest gratitude to all the staff who I have spoken to, not just my mother! I have spoken to electricians, to the painter, odd job man who have all passed some greetings or we have chatted. I recognise who they are they recognise me (or so I believe, they still talk).
I thank staff for their care and support treated with dignity and their kindness and warmth to my mother and how very nice they are all to me.
Many thanks to all.
