View Full Details of Hamilton HouseOur mum spent only a few weeks at Hamilton House but in that short time the care she received was excellent . The nursing & carers team were professional, attentive, and very kind. We were really impressed by how positive the whole home felt; it was a happy, welcoming place even during such a difficult period for our family. The house itself could do with a lick of paint and is a little dated, but that really doesn't matter - the warmth and kindness of the staff far outweigh any cosmetic details. We're deeply grateful for the compassion and support shown to Mum and us.
My mum was in for a few weeks after spending time in hospital. The staff were absolutely wonderful. We were a bit put off to start with as the building is old and a bit confusing to find way around but we soon got used to it. It was always spotlessly clean. They try and do something with the residents everyday from arts and crafts, games, singing, playing instruments, gardening etc. The food was good and drinks plentiful. There seemed to be plenty of staff as well.
My mum has been at Hamilton House for 18 months, from which she has received the very best of care. The staff have always been very loving, caring, and attentive to my mother's needs. The home is safe and secure with a very homely atmosphere.
My darling mother was a resident at Hamilton until her passing in October this year. My mum had mixed dementia and keeping her safe at home was impossible. The staff at Hamilton are dedicated and professional with huge amounts of empathy and care.
Having to admit that Nan required more care than we could provide was never going to be easy, however, the staff at Hamilton House have made it as easy as it could be. They all care and do whatever they can to ensure Nan is cared for, but also that we are aware of anything that they have done and also if there was is anything needed. The staff have also done their utmost to make me feel part of Nans care and made sure I'm also ok on Nans bad days. During this odd time, all team members have done all they can to ensure safety and health is put first and not comprised in any way.
My mother passed away on January 2nd 2019 at Hamilton House. She had been getting progressively ill for a while and we chose for Mum to remain at Hamilton House rather than a hospital as she entered end of life care. We are glad we made this decision as the staff were wonderful and supportive of her and to us when we were there, especially at the end. it's the staff that make all the difference and they were magnificent.
