View Full Details of The Malthouse Residential HomeMy overall experience of maintenance staff for my requirement has been prompt and efficient, highlighting the need for certain workmen i.e fence replacement, shortly, and checking fridge thermostat efficiency, during very hot weather recently.
My husband and I felt immediately that this home was ideal for Dad. It is like a very large house - no horrible bare floors everywhere! Cosy, nicely - furnished rooms, kind staff - nothing is too much trouble. Splendid activities and outings. Dad settled in so much better than I anticipated - sadly he had an unexpected stroke and died in June, but we could not have wished for a better last three months for a 95 year old man. Nice food, with little treats every afternoon - exquisite little cakes with drinks and visitors included! Very impressed with inter-staff briefings - whoever I spoke to on the phone would know what was going on with Dad. Keeping ungraspingly to about 23 residents is excellent for this. Touched by details - someone carefully sewed name labels in Dad's clothes by hand.
A well-run residential home. The staff all seem very caring and considerate. They are friendly and helpful towards both residents and visitors. There is a pleasant atmosphere and I always feel that my mother is being well looked after and is generally happy.
From my first phone enquiry with the manager to the day mum was well enough to return home, I've nothing but praise for all the staff at the Malthouse. Everyone has treated mum and us with the utmost respect, and supported us all throughout. The team are friendly, caring, humorous and throughout have communicated well with us as we have navigated mums journey to recovery. The garden party was a really, lovely and enjoyable event for everyone; thank you!
It was our friend's birthday, and we were amazed at the trouble the staff had gone to, to make the event special, from the elegant decorations to the delicious and well cooked meal. The whole atmosphere was positive and happy. Our friend had been quite dispirited when she had to give up independent living to go into a care home, so we had been a bit worried, how she would have settled, but she is so happy; so glad she is in The Malthouse and says she wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
We see our friend once a year as we live the rest of the year in North West England or Scotland. Her last birthday, she told us she was looking forward to her life ending; this year's birthday, she was enjoying life once more. My wife and I are so grateful that she recovered from her fall and is in a safe, happy place.
We have called many times to see my very dear friend and have been made very welcome by all staff on every occasion. Birthday meal provided by home was exceptional, delicious, and the cake was beautiful and delicious. My friend has nothing but praise for all of the staff care and love she receives in her new home.
I stayed at the Malthouse for 3 weeks' respite care following a stay in hospital. Everyone was very kind and helpful. The staff were excellent.
My Mum has been staying at the Malthouse whilst recovering from surgery. The care she has received has been outstanding. The management and staff are attentive, kind, capable, respectful, and professional in every way. The Malthouse is well maintained and the food is good. Mum has been made very comfortable and her visitors have always received a wam welcome from the staff.
We booked a period of respite care for mum following a fall injury and a difficult period in a hospital at a considerable distance from her home. Managers at the Care Home were very patient with repeated delays with her hospital discharge which we greatly appreciated during an emotionally difficult and logistically challenging period. They also offered clear and helpful advice about processes and considerations that were new territory to us and themselves communicated pro-actively with the hospital. The Malthouse has a warm, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere both for service users and their visitors. We were immediately confident that mum would be comfortable and cared for with skill, professionalism and dignity. The Malthouse staff are, without exception in our experience, wonderful in their work. The skill sets, attributes, and humanity of those who care so beautifully for others are deserving of the respect and gratitude of us all.
My mum is so happy here. Well cared for, lovely clean home. Such friendly staff and lovely managers. Delicious food and cakes. So glad Mum moved in here.
I stayed in The Malthouse for respite care from 23rd April until May 7th. I think that the care and kindness I received throughout my stay was excellent. I was treated with respect and kindness by every member of staff and nothing was too much trouble. The food was good in spite of the fact that I came in at very short notice and have various food intolerances. This is the second time I have been here for respite care and I should not hesitate to come again. If it should be necessary for me to enter a care home permanently I shall certainly choose to be a resident at The Malthouse.
My mother in law has been a resident in The Malthouse for 3 years. Over the past few months she has had a few health issues. The managers, team leaders, carers have always been very supportive to ourselves and nothing is every too much trouble. They all do an amazing job.
After a difficult 3 weeks in hospital, (not helped by sleep disruption during the nights while other patients needs were attended to) the Malthouse gave me just the environment and support I needed to restore my confidence in living alone in a house. The kindness and care all the staff gave me made me feel special and that my feelings mattered. My only problem, being a light sleeper and very tired by this time, was noise and lights during the night. Once the staff realised that I was having problems, they did their best to make it easier for me and I subsequently slept much better.
All the Staff at The Malthouse are lovely & friendly, and the care they all give my mum is excellent. When I visit any staff who pop in mums face always lights up All the staff will listen to any concerns & will find the answer if they don't know themselves.
The Malthouse is a lovely family-orientated care home. The staff are always so friendly and caring. Nothing is too much trouble and they always seem so happy as a team. I have been treated with love and respect and am so grateful and thankful for the care I have received.
My husband and I found The Malthouse extremely helpful when we had to find a care home facility quickly when my mother-in-law was discharged from hospital after Christmas. All staff were very efficient and friendly and she settled in very quickly. They were also very understanding when she became poorly again and needed medical attention. We felt she was in a very safe environment. Thank you for everything.
A really lovely home.
Lovely staff. Good levels of care and attention to my parents-in-law who are now permanent residents. I feel confident in their ability to handle any care emergencies. Rooms are clean, warm, and commodious. Everybody is kind and friendly.
I am delighted with the care, respect and decency that all the Malthouse staff give my Mother. It really is home for her. The manager, deputy manager and all their staff are highly conscientious and diligent. They are very patient, tactful and highly professional.
