View Full Details of Talbot ViewChoosing a care home for my mother was a very difficult decision due to advancing Alzheimer's. Due to the nature of my employment within the NHS, I chose Talbot View as Care South have really improved have really improved over the last 5 years. The rooms are bright and airy, I love the fact that Talbot View has small areas for residents and have created a real family atmosphere. I have never known such a kind, caring and dedicated staff; they are all amazing.
Amazing staff! All so helpful and caring towards my mother (89 years). We were initially very worried about mum going into full time care, but the manager and the rest soon assured us of the level of care here, and it became obvious that this is where she needs to be. Thank you all.
My mother has been with Talbot View since the end of May. The staff are amazing and anticipate mum's needs so quickly. She has been able to settle in smoothly and joins in activities every day. The rooms are immaculate and cleaned every day and we have been able to personalise mum's room without any problems. All departments are happy to help with requests and they don't mind me popping in every day to see how mum is doing. It feels like one big family and I am so pleased I secured mum a place, she is so happy.
Both parents are staying in Talbot View, and I can't fault the caring staff as well as looking after their health and safety, the staff make them welcome and happy at a difficult time. They work tirelessly but always have a smile and a good sense of humour with residents and visitors.
Management and the team of five-star. I cannot rate this home and the staff highly enough.
Talbot View in my opinion, is definitely the tops. Management, head carers, all the carers and staff working there give wonderful care, attention, and love to all the residents and visitors. My husband and I used to visit residents from our church who had moved to Talbot View, and he actually said years ago to a head carer that when he got too old to cope, that Talbot View was where he wanted to be. Thankfully, when that time cam,e his wish was granted.
My father has been a resident at Talbot View for almost 3 years. During that time, I have got to know many members of the staff. I visit Dad frequently and I always receive such a warm, friendly welcome from them. My father has also developed a strong rapport with them and they are so caring and kind towards him. The attitude of staff throughout Talbot View is so very professional and I know that he is in very safe hands. His carers do their best to put a smile on Dad's face every day and he really enjoys their company. The staff never rush when they are helping Dad even though they have many other residents to care for. Dad's preferences are always a priority and staff are always available to answer queries when family members seek reassurance.
Able to park on arrival, good safe security on front door. Toilets lovely and clean downstairs. Rooms all very clean and tidy. My auntie is nearly 102 and frail, but they try and get her up and out in wheelchair. She always looks neat and tidy and clean - skin always looks well-creamed etc. Always offered a hot drink - staff so helpful and friendly and able to update us on Auntie's health. Thank you.
My father had been resident at Talbot View Care Home for nearly two years until his death on the 29th of January 2025. My husband and I are very grateful to all the staff for their love, care and kindness - and the many cups of tea.
My parents were admitted for respite care. From my first visit to Talbot View, I can only commend all staff and managers. The process was quick, efficient and so friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The home is like one big family and I can't praise it enough. I am so thankful I found this gem! Hoping they'll become permanent and I know that they will be cared for to the highest order.
My mother was looked after for 3.5 years, during that time we saw a different manager (3 changes). There are many different carers also on alternative shifts and alternatively different wards. The most recent manager was the most effective, listening to my complaints and acting on them effectively and in Mum's final months I am so grateful for this. Also, I am grateful to the carers and senior staff in her final few days they loved my mum.
Staff and management are friendly and welcoming and have a good sense of humour. On my visits they have always been kind and caring towards my grandmother and take time to talk to family. My grandmother's room is clean and tidy and homely, it feels like an extension of her house before with her treasured photos and favourite ornaments. Food is nutritious and well cooked/presented with ample choice. I believe my grandmother is happy and at 101 is still treated with respect and dignity.
A most pleasant time was spent here. The staff are well trained, considerate, well organised, loving and caring. Nothing is too much trouble. Answer calls quickly. The food is tasty with choices. Two weeks of respite care, was nervous but no worries. Will certainly keep in contact and am happy to return. Would be happy to make it permanent if the need arises sight not good/mobility!
My mother-in-law had respite here for two weeks, very happy with the care she received. The manager was amazing, nothing was too much trouble very caring and professional. Would highly recommend this home. My mother-in-law is very happy to return again.
My mother is very happy and well cared for within the group! I as her son and POA am also happy! I did try Mum in a different care home but I wasn't happy with their ethos and lack pro-activeness! (I only allowed her to stay there for a week!). This confirmed my want to reintroduce her to a different home (before the previous experience, Mum was in a care home of the same group). All is good for her here!
Visiting my aunt in a clean, friendly, well staffed, secure and caring environment. Offers peace of mind to relatives knowing that your loved ones are being looked after appropriately.
Satisfactory.
I visit monthly with my dog Teddy representing Calling Canines. I have found all staff very pleasant and helpful and my dog and I like to see the residents to cheer them up.
My mother had to leave her rest home after nine years of residency due to the home closing, so it was a very upsetting experience. After visiting Talbot View I knew everything would be okay. The staff are amazing, caring, friendly and professional. My mum has received fantastic care, which has made this difficult time easier. The rooms are clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. I have only experienced good, positive and caring treatment.
I cannot thank the Talbot View team enough, for not only looking after my beloved Mum, but also for the support they provided for my family. Mum suffered from Alzheimer's. This was a new experience for our family, so it was a steep learning curve as well as coping with losing Mum day by day. The lovely staff at Talbot View helped us so much on this tough journey, something we will never forget. Now our lovely mum has gone, I not only miss her, but my Talbot View family will stay with me forever too. They are worth their weight in gold!
