View Full Details of The Knoll Care HomeMy mum has been a resident for nearly 18 months and I am so pleased with the care, support and welfare being provided. I feel so much better in myself knowing she is happy safe, and secure in this wonderful care home. She enjoys all the activities and she has a brilliant rapport with the staff. Thanks to the care home for giving my mum a wonderful lease of life.
My mum has been at The Knoll for a trial period, with a view to remaining there if she settles OK and likes it. My background is as a social worker, which makes me very observant and I have only seen positive behaviour from the staff towards residents, some whom can be very demanding and belligerent at times, due to their conditions, so I take my hat off to them! My mum has enjoyed all the food, with barely a complaint and loves watching the wildlife in the beautiful grounds, which include deer, hares, rabbits, foxes and squirrels, as well as lots of bird life - it really is a lovely setting. It is great to be able to visit mum now and not be worrying about how I will find her, having been at home with carers coming in. Her room is fairly small, so not much scope for bringing her own furniture in but she has a lovely view and the room is always light and warm. She is presenting as much better, cognitively, than she has for months and I put this down to the consistent care received.
My friend moved in to The Knoll at the end of July at first was very unsure but now has settled and has nothing but praise for the staff and food. Also has started to mix in the dining room and take part in activities. Always made welcome when visiting.
This is a place I would send my worst enemy. Totally mis advertised and misleading website. It hardly does anything that it advertises. Ive never seen a written menu in a folder to choose from, and as for a wine menu??!!!!! never seen a bottle of wine there.! The care is not up to standard at all. Breakfast meals constantly missed with various residents, clothing going missing and misplaced, cleanliness an issue. Twice in the last months my mother was there, residents saying 'if i pretend to be dead, maybe they will notice me' soul destroying to be around.
Excellent staff who are caring and empathetic. Generally good facilities only marked down slightly by rooms not being en suite. I think in this day and age all care facilities should have at least some en suite rooms for guest able to use them unattended to maintain individual dignity. I accept this facility probably does not have the infrastructure to support this. I only have respect and gratitude to a caring staff and carers.
Staff are very friendly and keep you informed about any actions or problems that may arise. Good activities which unfortunately my mother will not participate in but thats not without the staff trying.
Everyone is very kind and very helpful and very committed to all residents and visitors.
We visited The Knoll in Gloucester to see my grandad and the home had a party, a lady was one hundred years old and another couple had been married sixty years. The manager and staff did a fantastic job decorating and cooking the lovely food. My grandad was not well, so was asleep and did not get to enjoy the party. The singer was good and sang lots of songs the residents liked.
The Knoll Care Home is a wonderful place. My mum was there for two years before she passed away. I would recommend The Knoll Care Home 100%. All staff are lovely and care for the residents as their own family.
A wonderful place to leave a loved one to be cared for. Nothing was too much of a problem. Everyone from the managers to the handyman showed genuine care for my nanny. Beautiful grounds and well-equipped facilities. If you are looking for somewhere that doesn’t just meet your loved one's physical needs but gets to know them as an individual and does their utmost to cater for that - this should be your choice. Thank you to every member of the staff.
The staff at the Knoll Care Home are superb. Extremely kind and patient. It's a difficult situation to be in but there is nowhere I would rather my grandfather be, the care is excellent.
Every time we visit Dad at The Knoll Care Home the staff are kind and courteous, someone is always available to discuss concerns and these are dealt with promptly. Dad seems very content and has a good relationship with the staff.
They are extremely patient and caring. Very friendly and supportive manager.
Really lovely place and very friendly staff. Mum is really well looked after.
All staff are providing excellent support to my mother. They keep me well-informed and updated regarding any issues. They give my mother excellent emotional and physical support. The manager and all staff know my mother and treat her with dignity and respect.
My late mother was a resident in The Knoll Care Home for 2 and a half years. She suffered with dementia and mobility issues. The manager and all the staff in that time gave Mum the most considerate care and looked after all her needs with compassion and dignity.
Very friendly and clean. Caring people, very good boss.
Very caring and honest staff. I believe they really do make friends with residents.
Very friendly and informative staff. Very good support from the manager - very helpful with any questions.
