My mother with dementia moved to The Elms nearly two years ago. Moving from another home the move was an anxious time for us based on a previous bad experience.
I cannot begin to convey how wonderful the whole team have been. Mummy needed careful care around her re-adjustment to a new setting as
well as new staff she needed to trust.
The staff have not just been carers, they are her new family who go above and beyond to ensure she is safe, settled and seen as an individual that is respected and constantly monitored. They go to great lengths to make sure she is as happy as can be with genuine love and affection.
As a family, we're welcome at all times, invited to events, allowed to sit with mummy during meal times and always available by phone. Going above and beyond, the team have helped us navigate a complex care system with constant support and guidance.
The Elms is a small care home with a big family heart where you know your loved ones receive the care we all wish for.

Moving Mum into The Elms has been such a positive experience for her and us as a family. From the very first day, she was made to feel welcome, and it was clear that the staff genuinely care about the residents. Mum has settled in quickly and enjoys the company of the staff and the other residents.
There is always a warm, friendly atmosphere whenever we visit, and we feel included too.
The home arranges a wide variety of activities that keep everyone engaged and entertained. Mum regularly takes part and it's lovely to see her so involved and happy. It's clear that a lot of thought goes into making sure there's something for everyone, whether it's social, creative, or simply fun.
The Elms is set in a small village and has lovely well maintained grounds and a nice outdoor area for the residents and families. The rooms are clean and comfortable.
All in all, The Elms has given Mum a safe and happy home.

My father has been at The Elms for three years now and we both love it. Dad has dementia so can have changeable moods but the staff handle dad brilliantly. I cannot fault his care, it is superb, everyone works very hard to make it a calm, happy place to live. Nothing is too much trouble. Because
it's a bungalow, its easy for people to get around with beautiful gardens and views over the countryside. You get to know the lovely staff and other family members, we always have a quick chat, it's a great atmosphere and I would thoroughly recommend anyone looking for a care home to consider The Elms.

The elms is a home that makes residents, friends and family feel part of something special. The personal care is outstanding, the atmosphere is lively and there is always laughter. This is how life should be especially as we age. The new wing is contemporary and beautifully designed to take
advantage of its location in the countryside. Many great parties and family events with all generations. I enjoy myself every time I come here. The staff truly care for each person that steps through the door.

All the staff are warm and welcoming to my brothers and I, and seem able to contain my Mum's more difficult character traits.
Mum also seems to be in much better health for being there. She seems to be well looked after, safe, and has been helped to integrate a little too.
01 September 2025
The long-standing staff are all friendly and helpful and know the residents individually (and their families) and go out of their way to support them and make them feel they're at home; they are also poised to spring into action when required and are highly professional in dealing with any difficult
situations that arise. The home has a lot of clever touches from multiple intimate seating areas indoors and out to bird feeders outside the window of each room: everyone and everything seems designed to go the extra mile.

We looked around several residential care homes when the time came my Mum needed more help and as soon as we stepped foot inside The Elms we knew we had found the right place. All the staff are friendly, approachable and have taken the time to get to know us as a family, we are always made to feel
welcome when we visit. The Elms is always spotlessly clean, very well cared for and the gardens are a delight with views over open countryside, a very peaceful setting. In My Mum's own words "They cannot do enough for me, they look after me. What more can I ask for, I am very lucky and the food is very good". We highly recommend The Elms for anyone who is looking for outstanding care for their loved one.

My father moved to The Elms in January '23. The team at The Elms helped him to settle into his new surroundings while also helping to reassure us, that we had made the right decision for him.
Once dad got to know the team members and they in turn understood him, dad came to feel that The Elms was
his home. There was always a range of activities to participate in and the choice of food was good.
We found that dad was always happy to see us and when we brought him out for a day with the family, or a meal out, he was happy to 'go home' and back to his usual base.
In dad's final weeks, the team at The Elms not only preserved dad's comfort, cleanliness and usual high standards, including daily shaves, but did so with kindness and respect.
They also always made sure that we, as family, were looked after too.
Thank you for all your compassion and showing us that we had made the right choice back in 2023.

My father in law moved to the Elms nearly two years ago, a difficult decision but one that was made easier by our choice of the Elms.
Despite initial difficulties in settling in to his new surroundings, the staff did a wonderful job of helping him adapt and keeping us informed of any issues and how
we could help.
Despite his worsening ability to communicate with the staffs patience and consideration they could understand and accommodate his needs, even when that meant a wet not electric shave.
As time passed and he settled in to his home he selectively enjoyed the regular activities especially the sing a longs.
Finally however time catches up with us all and it was the dignity, respect and love shown by all in those final days that has prompted me to write this review.
We are all grateful that we chose the Elms and that it has such a wonderful and dedicated staff.
Thank you all

My mother is a resident of The Elms. She has dementia and a number of medical conditions, which make caring for her demanding, and sometimes frustrating. The staff at The Elms are outstanding in caring for her, their approach to caring for dementia residents has settled my mother down, she is less
frustrated and I feel that they really know her, her needs and her personality. The home is clean, the staff really engage with the residents. I know this takes a lot of work and care. She genuinely seems happy here. There is a huge range of activities for the residents, the food looks great and I really appreciate the social media updates. The Elms is a beautifully run residential care home that looked after my dear mum in the closing years of what was a very busy and active life.
The staff are delightful courteous and helpful and go the extra mile to assist.
It's a beautiful setting affording far-reaching country views from many of
the rooms, a big sun terrace, and masses of recreational space for the residents to mingle.
The ambience is good and the place is always spotless and a home from home for all its residents.
I never worry about Mum being there because I know she is well cared for and happy. The staff are a great crowd who work well together and I never feel anyone is unapproachable.
There is a lovely garden for everyone to enjoy in the better weather filled with a variety of shrubs, and bedding plants, tables and chairs are provided so in the better weather everyone who is able can fully enjoy the facilities.

My mum moved into The Elms at a very emotional time for our family. All the staff have just been the best support for mum and their care and love for mum cannot be faulted. The room is clean and homely and the rest of the public rooms are so welcoming. Mum is thriving on the food and the exercises
and activities which happen every day look stimulating and fun. Mum loves the singing and animal visits best. We can visit at any time and nothing is too much trouble. Mum always looks clean and well cared for. I would highly recommend The Elms.

so comforting to know he has the best care.

My husband has been a resident for 20 months and his care is excellent, he is always clean and his food is extremely good. The staff administer his meds on time which is important with Parkinson's and his catheter care is dealt with with dignity and they keep infections at bay. The angels who look
after him are 5 stars, from the nurses, kitchen staff, cleaner and maintenance gentlemen they all make me feel cared for as well. The home is spotlessly clean and the garden is delightful. I am so pleased we are able to have the services of The Elms.

My mother moved to The Elms following a stroke and a diagnosis of dementia just before Christmas 2023 and they couldn't have been more welcoming. All the staff have made a real fuss of Mum and involved her in the group activities so she settled in really quickly. I know she is really happy at The
Elms because she suggests friends and other members of the family should move in.
