When my father passed away in late September 2025, he and his family experienced once again the incredible compassion, strongest of support, and true professionalism of the whole Frith House team. Having spent several years in Frith House, we have seen only the most dedicated and dignified
treatment for my father, at a personal level, during both the good and the more difficult times of his progressive dementia. Living on the other side of the world always made logistics complex for my family, but the staff were excellent at keeping us updated and sharing both the small and more consequential details of my father when he was no longer able to communicate easily. I was deeply impressed by the care and compassion shown both to daddy and my family during the final days, and the guidance and support following his passing as well. I remain deeply indebted to a group of true professionals who were always there for my father and his family -- thank you all from the bottom of my heart!

My mum spent almost 6 years in Frith House and there hasn't been a moment in that time that I wonder if she was in the right place. It hasn't been an easy journey but the staff at Frith House have always been caring and respectful of mum right up to the last moments of her life. During the last few
days of life we as her family were cared for and treated respectfully. I really cannot thank the staff and management for the care respect that mum has received.
I will always be grateful for how they looked after her.

All the staff are excellent at Frith House. My cousin has been in Frith House since April 25, and I can't speak highly enough of the care, compassion and kindness that my cousin has had everday of the wekk 24 hours a day. The care staff, housekeeping staff, catering team, and managers are all
wonderful to cousin. I am very grateful that cousin is looked after and kept safe. Everyone is so professional and compassionate about their work as it's not just a job its a vacation, not just a job, and I am eternally grateful. I would recommend Frith House to everyone as it is a lovely home, and I know that cousin is in good hands.

Fabulous care home with excellent attention to detail. Support both granny and the family throughout full dementia pathway adapting to her changing needs as necessary.
Occasionally mixed communication regarding granny's changing needs which could have impacted her care... this did cause some
confusion and upset within the family bug handled very well by management

Mum was here for just under 2 years, care was outstanding, and her dementia/alzheimers needs were met. Staff were friendly, welcoming and always there to listen.
Her final days were, without doubt, very caring and dignified.
Would recommend Frith House to everyone.

My mother was a resident of Frith House for almost two years following a short illness in hospital. The care and support she received was outstanding in every way. The staff treat all the residents with love & support, along with endless patience and care. Nothing is too much trouble for them and
they will accommodate any requests or concerns. Monthly reviews gave us the opportunity to discuss any issues and what worked well for my mother. Care during spells of illness was amazing which took away any worry from her family.
All residents have their own private rooms, but are welcome in all the common rooms for eating & socialising.
A weekly / monthly timetable of activities for the residents is arranged, with trips out & entertainers arranged ad hoc.
I cannot praise Frith House highly enough during my mothers stay & would highly recommend it to any family wishing to find a safe & loving environment for their relation / friend.

The staff are a very personable and welcoming, and always handle any questions or queries efficiently. The care staff are very gentle and caring with the residents, and the atmosphere is always good at Frith House. My mother seems so much calmer and happier - which is just what we hoped for. She
seems to be in a really good routine and content in her environment, which she calls 'home'. We feel she is in the best place.

My brother was diagnosed with dementia & Alzheimer's in 2019. Since that time, he has been a resident in the Steepholm Unit. Sadly, he died at the end of October.
The care he received over the 6 years was above expectations. The last three years he had been difficult, yet the staff have been
patient, caring & considerate. Mike had other care issues, a stoma after a cancer op. Yet at no time did the staff show impatience or lack of care. Frith exceeded expectations.

I have found all the staff friendly and helpful. They showed an interest in my aunt and made her feel welcome from the beginning. They have a very positive attitude to supporting people with dementia. It is a happy and cheerful environment. It still feels like early days but I am optimistic about
the future for my aunt at Frith House. She has moved in at a period in her life when she can enjoy the lovely meals, company and activities. Everyone I've met have been kind and caring.

Nan has been in Frith for over a year now. Unfortunately, her dementia has progressed, causing her to have difficulty swallowing. The home is very good at offering pureed food for her. Nan has a lovely room, which she is really happy in, as she is able to have all her own things in. The staff are
lovely and friendly, and the management team are very approachable.

We are very pleased with the level of care our Mum is receiving. The caring team are always attentive and interacts with Mum well. Most important of all, Mum is happy and settled in her environment. The manager is always available and very approachable. Receptionists are welcoming and friendly.
This is much better than the old system of having to wait for someone to answer the doorbell.

My mother has been a resident of Frith House for the last 6 months and is totally settled in there. All the staff are very friendly, helpful and thoughtful. Communication with family members is excellent, and visitors are made to feel very welcome at any time. It is lovely to be able to take mum out
in the wheelchair and walk along the seafront. I really can't fault anything. Thank you!

The staff are very helpful and polite, the home is very clean and gives a bright and cheerful look to the rooms, the dining areas are neatly laid out and again very clean. The staff are always helpful and polite, and will go out of there way to make sure any issues are dealt with professionally.
Although haven't tried the meals personalty they always look very tasty and delicious. Before putting my mother in here I took the time to have a look at other homes in the area, and Frith house was by far the best option, its not cheap in fact it is quiet expensive but then sometimes the cost is not always the deciding factor, and my mother seems very happy and comfortable here, and that is the deciding factor.

Mums dementia had deteriorated and we needed to find a care home locally, that was secure, safe and provided excellent care. After looking at several homes, we were fortunate to find Frith House, with an outstanding CQC report and meeting the extremely high standards of care and environment that we
wanted for Mum. She has settled so well and the staff are amazing, caring and attentive. She has integrated well and is happy. She takes part in activities and is enjoying the home cooked meals and is thriving. The resident is at the centre of the care planning, and everything possible is done to ensure mums needs are met. She is treated with dignity and respect and the care standards are extremely high. Staff are also tuned in to the needs of the family and did everything they could to make the transition into residential care as easy as possible for the family and mum. We were consulted about all aspects mums care planning, and communication with the family if issues arise is excellent.

Sadly our experiences of Frith House were far from 'outstanding', despite the CQC report which was last carried out in July 2021. On the surface this home looks great, but...
Our father was resident here until recently, self-funding. On several occasions we raised concerns about his hygiene and
health, but felt they were 'brushed aside' making us feel like we were being neurotic. We eventually involved CQC.
The last straw was when we observed Dad's medication left on a tray and was about to be taken away again (without being administered to him). We wonder, had we not seen this, how many other incidents were missed?
In the 2 weeks that Dad has been in his new home, they've identified his aggression/challenging behaviour as sundowning, involved mental health, and changed his medication which seems to have really helped. This approach was never discussed with us by Frith House, who took the money each month, but eventually said they were unable to meet his needs.

My mum lived alone with dementia and could no longer be safe at home. She was really nervous about coming into the care home but now says she wished she had not been so stubborn and come in earlier. She absolutely loves her room and the staff making a fuss of her. She is eating better as meals are
prepared for her. At home, all she did was sit in a chair and sleep. Since being at Frith House she has enjoyed the singers that have been in, played Skittles, and bingo, made cakes, done arts and crafts and played with Nerf Guns. She is so much happier.

Mum had wonderful care throughout her time at Frith House. Her dementia needs were met at all times and we felt very confident about her care. Her room was light and bright and always clean.
During Mum's final days, care was given with great dignity and the support to us was extremely caring and
kind.
We would be happy to recommend Frith House, a lovely place, well-run and with a brilliant team of hardworking staff.
