I can't put into words how lucky we have been to place mum in this lovely home. We feel very privileged. All staff from bottom up and top down are superb, professional and friendly. They look after mums well being in all aspects. Her needs are met often above and beyond and exceeds all expectations. It remains "her home" A big thankyou to you all. You ALL work very hard to achieve this. Thankyou again
My mother was cared for at Grovelands in Yeovil between Nov 24 and June 25. The home itself was immaculate. The food excellent and the staff were absolutely superb and genuinely caring! We could not fault Grovelands in any way.
Mum moved in here in February for respite initially, but then my Dad passed and it is becoming more of a permanent fixture (although I live in Essex, so am hoping to get her with me soon - if I could pick up the whole care home, all the staff and residents to be in Essex, I would). Mum is going to miss this place so much, and so will I. From Day one the manager and all the staff (from managers, senior nurses, the housekeeper, admin staff, each and every carer and the activity ladies), showed how much they really care - Mum has settled in so well, and with me being so far away, it has really helped ease the pressure and worry on me. She loves lots of attention, and this she gets in spades, it's so heartwarming to see when I visit. We've been allowed to personalise her room so that she has all her memories with her, and it makes it feel like home from home. She is in expert hands every day, and I couldn't wish for better. THANK YOU everyone, you're amazing!
I feel I need to write a new review as my mother has been at Grovelands on the residential side for 3 years now and I/we are still as overwhelmingly happy as we were when my mum first went there. This residential home is like home from home. All the staff are exceptional from the management to the carers the domestics the activities lady and admin staff. They all make it the special place it is. My mum has a lovely room which she has personalised and overlooks their gorgeous garden. The whole place is bright and airy but at the same time cosy and the whole place is kept impeccably clean. When I go to visit I almost feel like I'm in a hotel and the atmosphere is always welcoming. I feel so blessed to have the security of knowing my mum is in a place where she is so loved. All the staff genuinely care about their residents and it makes a huge difference. It is so nice to not have to worry about your loved ones because they are in the best hands. WELL DONE GROVELANDS
Mum is very pleased with the wonderful staff who takes care to make her days interesting. She likes all the food and has made a couple of very nice friends living at Grovelands.
My husband suffering from mixed dementia was afforded excellent care whilst in residence. His final days were handled with great kindness, understanding and respect. He settled well and responded well to the support he received. It was extremely comforting to me to see his smiles and reactions. They spoke well of the unseen care he must have been experiencing.
Bright, clean home. All rooms a good size & well equipped. Residents treated with respect and my friend was content with variety of food. Lovely gardens.
Mum has been at Grovelands for almost five years and we wouldn't have her anywhere else. The most important thing for me is the care she receives from the most wonderful staff, I can't fault them. You can tell they genuinely care about the residents, they are kind, patient and always smiling, mum is in the best hands we could ever hope for. Her room is lovely, the facilities and activities are always on point, the garden is lovely for a wee seat or a wander and the food is gone made and looks lovely. My only area for improvement is, whatever you are paying the staff, it's not nearly enough, because they are the backbone of Grovelands and are what make it a 100 out of 10, so I hope the owners and management appreciate everything they do. There are so many care homes in Yeovil, you don't want them being poached! Thank you all of you for looking after mum and making her so happy xx
I cannot fault the care of my husband, the kindness and understanding is second to none. The catering to his nutritional needs is excellent. I would also like to thank the staff from top to bottom for their support and kindness to myself.
I cannot thank ALL the staff at Grovelands enough for the care and support that my Mother has received since becoming a resident at this amazing Carehome. Everyone goes above and beyond to make sure that residents needs and requirements are always met . The care given is outstanding, the rooms are spotless, the daily activities are stimulating and entertaining, and staff are always very caring and supportive. Choosing a placement for a precious family member is a very challenging and emotional experience, but after visiting 8 care centres as soon I stepped inside Grovelands I just knew it was the place for Mum. I was given such a warm welcome by Reception Staff, introduced to many of the amazing staff there and shown around with such compassion. I knew instantly that it was the perfect place for mum to live!
I can honestly say that Grovelands is outstanding. We have been visiting my relative here for the past 4 years and the staff have become like extended family. We have felt supported and aided in our Grovelands journey from selecting a place for our loved one, getting to know and celebrate individual preferences and personal life stories and supporting us as a family when extra help is required. Communication is excellent. Standards of care and knowledge are remarkable. Staff are well trained and obviously enjoy their jobs. Staff at all levels without exception, all demonstrate compassion, understanding and love to residents and visitors alike. Care is patient and kind and the residents' needs are always the focus. Nothing is too much trouble. The activities are varied and popular and our loved one particularly enjoyed the walks and art. In these past 4 years, they have had far more interests and new experiences than we could have ever imagined. We will be eternally grateful.
Whilst visiting with my partner I observed excellent care being provided, I am currently a registered nurse manager working within the social care sector, and I can confirm that I have witnessed outstanding care. As a family, we have absolute trust that our family member is receiving the very best care. Fantastic communication from all staff and management, with close personal relationships with the team which enables us to have total confidence that our family member is in the right place. I would highly recommend and encourage others to become part of the family here at Grovelands.
Mum was 95 and lived at Grovelands for 16 months, in that time she received the most compassionate care anyone could have wished for. The reception staff are efficient and very friendly. The care staff go above and beyond and ensure all residents are happy and kept safe. They all got to know Mum and her fun ways. She was a bit cheeky and did like to have a laugh and they certainly laughed with her. The activity team are amazing and friendly and encourages residents to become involved. Unfortunately, Mum's health deteriorated and her wish was to stay at the home rather than be admitted to hospital. The end-of-life care she received was exceptional, mum was treated with care and dignity at all times and the family were so very very grateful. I really miss visiting Mum and I also really miss all the staff who welcomed Mum's family into the Grovelands family.
It is difficult to believe that my mum has been in care now for over a year and moved to Grovelands after an initial placement in another group home didn't work out due to her illness. Mum is in the Petals Wing and she has settled in well and the management and staff have all been really great from the very beginning some 10/11 months ago when she moved in. There are some genuinely lovely staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcome when visiting and I and my family feel secure in knowing that my mum is being well looked after. This is a great comfort to us as a family as we unfortunately live some distance away and visiting as often as we would like is not that easy. Thank you to all at Grovelands for the exceptional work that you do.
Held a family party for my mother's 95th birthday. The manager and the staff did a brilliant job of setting up the party in the marquee. The chef baked a fantastic birthday cake. Mum had a wonderful time seeing family together in one place for the first time since her 90th birthday. Thank you, Grovelands!
When choosing a care home for my Mother in 2022 Grovelands was head and shoulders above all the others we visited as it felt so friendly, homely, and welcoming. My usually stubborn and independent mother settled in very quickly, and we were delighted with the level of care provided. Unfortunately, Mother became terminally ill in October and died last week. All the care staff involved in looking after her were amazing, and so compassionate. We were thankful that she was able to receive end-of-life care without having to move to a hospice. Our thanks go to all the staff at Grovelands for making the last few months of my Mother's life so comfortable and bearable.
From my first contact with Grovelands, I have been very impressed by the staff, by their willingness to stop, welcome and answer my questions as I sought for good, kind, comprehensive care for an elderly lady (96) suffering from dementia. This lady has now been in residence for seven weeks and has settled remarkably well. I am very grateful to the staff for their respect, kindness and care that they have shown. After struggling at home with many aspects of personal care, it is lovely to see this lady so well cared for, enjoying good food and the wide variety of activities available. I am very grateful.
My dad became seriously ill on December 8th at Grovelands. A decision between my family, the home and the paramedic was made in Dad's best interest, to stay at Grovelands. His care during his last 8 days was amazing. The support he and we received was second to none. They kept him comfortable and pain-free and afforded his dignity at all times. We were welcomed into the 'Grovelands' family for which we will always be grateful and hold special memories.
My 93 year old father has been a resident in Grovelands for over a year. Health issues meant that it was no longer safe for him to be allowed to stay in his home. It was a difficult decision for my brother, sister and I, however, I can genuinely say that the decision to place him in Grovelands was the best that we could have made for him. The staff are exceptional and take the time to support my father in so many ways, from assisting with hospital visits to arranging trips out. There are so many activities for him to become involved in should he wish and it is lovely to receive the newsletter with photos of him joining in. Any questions we have are promptly answered by members of staff and the manager makes time to discuss any concerns that we may have. My father has a wonderful room overlooking the garden which he loves, both of which are beautifully maintained. He is quite adamant that he doesn't want to leave the home as he feels happy and safe there.
We have just moved my 93-year-old mum to Grovelands as sadly owing to her current needs she could no longer stay at her previous home. We viewed many care homes in the surrounding area and from the first time we walked into Grovelands it stood head and shoulders above all the others. From our first contact, their responses and communication have been excellent. Everyone we have met has been extremely friendly and helpful and the welcome for mum was first class. She loves her bright, airy room where there was still enough room for some of her own bits of furniture and personal items to make it feel like home. The ambience of the place is lovely, clean, bright and welcoming for residents, family and friends. Early days but so far so good.
