My mum has Alzheimer's and had lived at Watersmead for around 3 years now. The home is well run and each time I visit I see activities in progress and all residents are encouraged to take part. My mum's illness means she now unaware of some things, such as remembering to wash and clean her teeth for example, but she is always clean and tidy as is her room. I believe she is well look after and the staff have endless patience with her.
The staff are providing good care to my husband who has physical disabilities. They keep me informed of any concerns and changes in his condition and are available to discuss his care. The Care Home is welcoming and staff are friendly and supportive.
Care home clean and tidy. Plenty of activities for the residents to participate in. Always kept up to date with my mum's care. The view from her room overlooks the garden which hopefully she likes.
Mum and Dad have been in Watersmead for several months now. Although this is a short period of time they have both settled in very well and appear to be happy. The staff are excellent, always friendly, very helpful and keep me fully informed if there are any issues. The quality and quantity of food is very good. I would certainly recommend this care home.
The staff have always been caring and helpful when I have visited. My brother has settled in well, after a few weeks of being in his room, but now generally he mixes in the day room, but is a quiet man. There are always daily activities, which are organised for the residents, who can chose to participate.
Mum moved in December 2024 and once settled is very happy, thinks the staff are great and loves the food. She is looking so much better than she was when she lived on her own has friends and is eating properly.
The staff are really great. The home has a friendly atmosphere at all times. My sister really likes it and l know she is safe and well looked after. The staff are friendly and nothing is to much trouble.
Watersmead, and particularly the staff continue to care for my dad. He has now been in this care home for over two years and has developed some good relationships with many staff and some residents. My father, like many of his generation is often reluctant to ask for things, an example being at meal times. He is a very traditional eater, in his words good old fashioned food, none of this fancy modern stuff. When he does ask, the staff do all they can to give him some of the items he requests, although he accepts this is not always possible. My dad is also not one for joining in many activities, but thats his choice and he is happy with that. I am always happy to engage with staff, and get on well with them. They are open with me about issues surrounding dad and always ring and let me know if there are any problems. I say with absolute conviction that if my dad was not in this care then he would not be with us today.
The care staff at watersmead are very attentive and patient with my mum, the rooms are very neat and clean and you're allowed to make them as homely as you like. The meals are extremely good as are the gardens.
Mum has been living in Watermead for just over a year. She is very happy and settled. She enjoys the entertainment, quizzes, bingo, sing along, etc. She is a sociable lady. The staff are very caring and brilliant with the residents and their families. If there are any problems I am always kept up to date. The only problem Mum has is people entering her room during the night, other residents.
The staff are always polite and courteous when we go to visit. Nothing appears to be too much trouble and any questions asked are either replied to or passed on to another member of the team to deal with. My mum has only been at Watersmead for 8 months so I can only review what I know in this short period.
My family and I have been very happy with the care my husband has received at Watersmead. All the staff have been very good, they are helpful, caring, always cheerful. We know he is in good hands and well cared for.
My mother has been at Watersmead for about six years. She is happy there and feels that it is now her home. Generally, I am very happy with her care. She is now in bed permanently in her room and is assisted with all her care and meals etc. The staff are all very friendly and show her much kindness. The home is very well managed.
My mother has been a resident of Watersmead for nearly 5 years now, she is so happy and she adores everyone who works there and I mean everyone. She sometimes joins in with the activities at the home except when it has animals to hold and pet as she would run a mile (if she could). I do have time to sit and watch the everyday running of the home while my mum dozes off again in the main dining room and the care the carers have for other residents melts my heart sometimes, they just go above and beyond. Also the manager and secretary are so lovely and they are straight on the phone to me if my mum is ill, they keep me up to date about appointments my mum has to attend or if the doctr has to be called. I really love going to see my mum especially if there is entertainment on and everyone has a sing-along me included. I know I speak for every relative's family that if there was a medal to have this home deserves it. Thank you.
Hi my mother-in-law has been with you for 15 months. In that time she has settled into your home very well. This is because the manager and her staff are switched on with the residents as to their needs etc. There are always a selection of daily activities going on which Mum enjoys getting involved with. Also the daily menu is good. I would recommend this care home to anyone having to move into one.
Everyone was very helpful when we visited and made the decision easier for my dad to live at the care home. He has been there a month now and settling in very well. His food needs are being met and he loves his fish and chips Fridays.
Mum is very well cared for and the staff are always on hand, Mum says she feels happy and safe there. There is always a good choice of food, snacks and drinks, there are also lots of activities throughout the week, everyone at Watersmead is very welcoming.
The staff at Watersmead are a great bunch of people, they do have time to have a laugh and joke with the residents, and my aunt does enjoy this. The Christmas Party was fun, there is always something going on for them to take part in, I am very pleased we were able to find such a good, friendly place which she feels at home in.
A lovely, welcoming home. My Dad's needs are catered for in a way we can not do at home. He seems content and we are more than happy with his care. He can be difficult sometimes and the staff always do their best when he allows.
My Dad has been at Watersmead Care Home for four years now. We have always felt the care home does a great job caring and providing for his needs. My Dad has dementia. He is a late morning riser and a night wanderer, his routine is catered for and we always feel confident he is in safe hands. The staff are always approachable, helpful and keep us well informed. I would highly recommend Watersmead if you are looking for the transition from home to care home.
