June's story on 15.11.2016 - 10 years ago, mum and dad moved into Wren House. Sadly dad passed away after a short stay, and mum, loving Wren House, decided to make this her home. Wren House is a big family. The staff, many of whom have been there longer than mum, are caring and affectionate, becoming our extended family. They are supporting and encouraging mum to remain independent for as long as she was able, offering physical and emotional support. Mum is now receiving outstanding end-of-life care. It is heartwarming to see the gentle, affectionate care mum is receiving as she slips away. It has not only been a wonderful gift to mum, the way her Wren House Family has cared for her, but a gift to her family, knowing she was so happy and well looked after, allowing us to get on with our lives. Wren House is a jewel in the crown.
June has been at Wren House for 10 years. Her quality of life has undoubtedly been enhanced and extended by the outstanding care she has received. She has been treated at all times with compassion and dignity by all the staff, many of whom have been there longer than June. As a family we have always received a warm welcome and made to feel part of the Wren House family. The end of life care June has received at the moment is truly heartwarming, not just the care, but staff sitting holding her hand and talking to her.
I visited my stepmother on 17 August 2025. I was with her most of the day and joined her for lunch, as I have a dietary need. The lunch was delicious. I would like to thank the chef for accommodating my diet. All the staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble A very enjoyable Sunday spent chatting and laughing with Brenda
I have been a resident in Wren House for 5 months now and I am very happy here. The staff are all very kind and so attentive and the level of care provided is exceptional. There are plenty of activities going on to keep me entertained and therefore there is always something to look forward to.
The care given to my mum at Wren House is exemplary. The carers are kind, loving and always at hand. I have rarely seen my mum so happy as she is surrounded by interested people and good food.
There is a variety of activities here but my mother is 100 years old is unable physically to go down to them so some are done in her room. We have had children come from a school to read to her in her room.
This care home is far better than any other care home I have visited in the park. Thank you.
When I broke my hip I was lucky enough to come to Wren House as I left hospital. Since then I have had so much kindness and efficiency so much attention. I am lucky that they had an empty room and I as able to move in.
Loved my stay for respite.
My mother moved into Wren House in the middle of this year. It has been a hugely positive experience. Wren House feels like a comfortable home, rather than a hospital and the staff are fantastic giving great care with a smile. Mum has settled in so well and still has the freedom to do what she wants but has a wonderful support network providing a great quality of life.
My mother has been in Wren House since last November. The care and staff are absolutely fantastic, so kind, sensible and with a bit of humour, which is so important. It's a huge change moving into a care home but they manage to make it as smooth as possible. Thank you for looking after her.
While nothing can compare with our own home, bought, cared for and loved with one's partner over many years, the comfort, care and company at Wren House is a high-standard replacement for many of these attributes. The house and my own room are excellent. From my own point of view, I could only suggest that a little more care and attention could be paid to the garden which has huge potential even if only reviewed thoroughly once per year so that interested residents could be occupied with pottering during the summer sunshine if they wished.
I love living at Wren House, the care and support is lovely. The staff are great.
I am very happy. People are very kind and helpful. The food is excellent and the staff are very helpful. I am very happy here. My bed and chair are very comfortable and cosy. We have a lovely garden here and they put on some things to do and the entertainment is good.
I have received exceptional care for all the team at Wren House.
Thanks to its professional and dedicated team of staff, Wren House delivers an exemplary level of care but in a friendly, informal and homely atmosphere. It's a pleasure to visit and it is a great reassurance and comfort to know my father is being so well looked after.
As always service with a smile and unlimited care. I am here full-time and feel I have a second family. A few more staff would help everyone but this is a sign of the times.Cannot thank you all enough.
Reason for stay - respite care. Knew the home by its reputation locally. The stay date was arranged but brought forward because of accelerated need. Met with prompt excellent response from the care home. Welcomed from the start, needs to be anticipated and quickly settled. Routine well explained and excellent care from start. The pet labrador retriever settled well and was welcomed. Personal care was good, felt safe and secure. Visitors and relatives are welcome. If help was needed (on rare occasions) always arrived promptly and resolved satisfactorily.
My aunt aged 104 has received the most amazing care at Wren House. She was so happy there treated with dignity and yet able to retain her independence. All the staff were quite exceptional and the food delicious. She always looked smart and comfortable. My aunt loved poetry and Scrabble! Girls from a local school joined the residents on a Wednesday games afternoon. They loved talking to a 104 year old. She even won the game! Sadly she has now passed but Wren House was with her supporting her passing and the family too. Just cannot ever thank them enough.
