My sister-in-law was taken to hospital after the staff had expressed concerns over her medical condition and her lower than usual body temperature. It was diagnosed in the hospital as cold sepsis and treatment was given accordingly. The staff from Evergreen visited her on a daily basis whilst she
was in hospital and their input to the hospital staff was vital in establishing her normal medical parameters as her body temperature is generally a little lower than what is considered normal. The hospital staff were then able to adjust the treatment to ensure that she eventually became well enough to go home to Evergreen.
I was kept fully informed by the staff at Evergreen of the situation with my sister-in-law and the treatment she was getting. In my view it was the prompt recognition and action by the staff which avoided a potentially dangerous situation for her.
