View Full Details of Austin Rose Care HomeA Truly Exceptional Care Home - Austin Rose My beloved uncle recently passed away after spending his final weeks at Austin Rose, and I can honestly say the care he received was nothing short of phenomenal. From the moment he arrived, we felt completely reassured by the warmth, compassion, and professionalism of every single member of staff. Their dedication to his dignity, comfort, and well-being was evident every day. Not only did they care for him, but they supported us as a family - always kind, always patient, and always going above and beyond. Even though it's only been five weeks, I truly miss visiting and seeing the wonderful team who felt like an extension of our family. If you are looking for somewhere safe, compassionate and deeply caring for your loved one, I can recommend Austin Rose with complete confidence. They gave my uncle the gift of peace and dignity in his final chapter, and for that we will always be grateful as a family.
My mum, was admitted nearly 4 years ago straight from hospital to Austin Rose. She was in quite a poorly state, her dementia had worsened and she was then not able to walk, and incontinent ; something that was not the case a few months earlier. Staff at Austin Rose cared for her and helped her regain a lot of her strength and weight. Mum went through many stages while she she was in the home and at each point staff adapted to her needs and problems. Staff were so caring and understanding as her needs became more complex, and nothing was too much trouble. A few months before she died Mum told me that her tiger ( her constant companion ) really liked it at the home and so did she. Her care in her last stages was exemplary and the staff nurse and the supervisor of the carers. kept me fully informed and I had the great privilege of being with mum when she passed away. I can't thank the staff for their love, care and understanding. The whole experience was that of being part of a " loving family."
My Dad had been a resident of Austin Rose for over 6 years, until he sadly died last week.. He was very happy there from the start. He was bedridden, but, encouraged by staff, he soon started taking an active role, particularly where the musical entertainment was concerned. His personal needs were dealt with with respect and understanding, and he had great relationships with many of the staff, even the young ones. He enjoyed his food so the efforts of the kitchen staff were much appreciated. On occasions when he was poorly, the Nursing staff and Home's GP gave excellent support and kept me informed and, nearer the end, his wishes regarding end of life care were fully respected. The care staff, at every level, were so kind and supportive to him, and indeed to myself especially during his final days, as were the nurses. The Home has a lovely, caring atmosphere, and I often witnessed the individual support offered to those new or nervous residents. It became my Dad's happy home.
My mother received the best care possible! The staff were friendly, polite, efficient and willing to accommodate any requests. The room with a large TV made a huge difference as she couldn't see a small screen. We hooked it up to the church's which was a comfort for her. We were welcome to visit and stay as often as we wished. At the end of her life, her body was washed, presented in peace, and we were not rushed.
From the moment Dad and I first set foot in Austin Rose, we knew it was the perfect place for Mum to be cared for. Whilst Mum's stay was sadly just over 3 weeks, this was more than enough time to see how the superb staff went about their work. The compassion shown to Mum, and indeed to me and Dad, was first rate. We have been left with treasured memories of an event which took place one Saturday afternoon. An entertainer of West End repute who sang and danced, and involved the residents wonderfully. The joy on Mum's face, and her enjoyment of that afternoon, was something we simply couldn't have made happen for her ourselves. There are far too many lovely people to mention, but we must say a huge thank you to one lady, who formed a special bond with Mum. She is someone who just *knows* how to connect with people, and is such a credit to Austin Rose.
This place is very clean with excellent staff that are so caring and dedicated to making residents and their families feel at home . It's like being part of the family. You can visit whenever you like day or night. A wonderful atmosphere with plenty to do or just relax in the beautiful garden
I must say what a lovely care home. My mom has settled in nicely she's only been there 5 days. The staff are so caring and my mother said the food is lovely. I'm so happy my mom is happy. That's all what matters. If my mom's happy I'm happy. A fantastic care home
My sister was only with you for 5 weeks after being discharged from the hospital. As her care needs required constant nursing. Austin Rose Care Home came highly recommended and during her time with you the care provided for her kept her comfortable,s afe and stress free. When we visited all the staff were welcoming, friendly, caring and very informative of her condition. My sister had a very peaceful end to her life. These views are also echoed by my daughters one a current health care professional and the other an ex-safeguarding professional.
My Mum had a much needed few weeks' respite care in Austin Rose and was given the best of care. The staff, manager to maintenance, could not have been more obliging. Mum particularly enjoyed the food - all cooked fresh, on site, with plenty of choice and variety - without her having to do it herself!! She enjoyed walking round the garden and was disappointed not to be staying longer to see it come awake for Summer.
We are grateful to all the nurses and carers who looked after my husband during the last 15 months of his life. All of the front line staff looked after both my husband and myself with kindness and compassion and we are so pleased that we chose Austin Rose once the family could no longer care for him at home.
My husband settled in very quickly in a couple of days because of the Nursing staff and carers going out of their way to make him feel welcome by their gentle ,kind and caring attitude. His wishes are always taken into consideration and he is allowed to sit in his room , have meals and relax if he wishes Measures were put in place from day one by the staff to prevent falls day or night as my husband is a client with high risk of falls.Sensory mats alerting the staff of any movement and quick response by them has resulted in no falls at all, which was my main concern There is regular supervision by staff of all the clients in the Alzheimers unit. My requests were met with empathy and carried out straight away. Staff look happy and are very professional. From the staff manning the telephone to the management team , all of staff members are ready to help family as well with queries and advise. Diet looks balanced and generous.Choices are available.Overall very happy. . .
My lovely wife was resident in Austin Rose Care / Nursing Home for eight months. This is a beautiful and peaceful place. My wife was so happy and content there and we were so at ease with her being there. We are so grateful to all the wonderful staff that so lovingly took care of my wife and us during her stay. Is was so much more to us than a Care Home it was like a real home.
As a family we were informed by the hospital Medical Team that my mother was sadly considered End Of Life Care. . My mother who had mixed dementia and other complex physical health care needs had lived with us in our home and been cared for by our family for over nine years throughout the decline in her dementia illness. To hand over her care and control of her well being was for our family a soul searching and difficult decision . From the moment we entered Austin Rose Care home with our Mother we were greeted with such courtesy and professionalism that we immediately started to feel much more reassured. The Nursing and the healthcare Staff were outstanding in every aspect of care , their knowledge of end of life care , their compassion and their diligence to my mother was heartwarming to witness , their communication and interactions with the GP surgery was collaborative and effective in managing all of my mothers end of life needs. I highly recommend Austin Rose.
My Mum is currently staying at Austin Rose as a respite care resident, after a fall. She has received fabulous care during her stay. Her carers are kind and considerate and try very hard to make her happy. She has made friends and is starting to join in with some of the activities. I would not hesitate to recommend Austin Rose to anyone looking for a care home for a family member or friend. All of the staff are so helpful and thoughtful.
My mom was moved into Austin Rose when it became clear that after four years, we could no longer care for her at home. Having had previous good experience with Meadow Rose and knowing that Austin Rose has specialist dementia facilities, we decided Mom would be comfortable here. Right from our initial meeting with the staff and then from Mom's move, it is clear we have made the right choice. She has settled well, is now far more active than she has been in months, and enjoying life again. Thank you to all at Austin Rose.
My mom has recently moved into Austin Rose. From day one the staff there have been so supportive and kind to Mom and us, her family. The care mom is receiving is amazing and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The food is really good and mom's room is lovely and comfy and she has all of her things from home in there. We cannot fault the home or the staff in any way and are so grateful to them.
My nan has recently moved into Austin Rose. I cannot rate this home highly enough, the staff are absolutely amazing from the nurses, to the cleaners, to the activities team and all the maintenance team. They have all made my nan and all the family welcome. She is joining in with activities that are going on, to which there are so many on a daily basis. A special mention to the Relations manager, who is outstanding at what she does and has gone above and beyond for my nan and all the family. The home is beautifully presented and absolutely spotlessly clean. The food menu that is on display is a fantastic mixture of variety and we hear it tastes good as well! We can all sleep at night now knowing that Nan is not only safe but is having the time of her life!
Mom arrived at Austin Rose on Friday 24 January 2025, to such a warm and friendly welcome, we particularly want to thank the relations manager and all the staff for making sure Mom settled in well, thank you all for keeping us informed and putting our minds at rest.
Following an extended period in hospital, it became obvious that as a family we would not be able to manage the needs of my uncle following his discharge. With this in mind, we set about searching for an appropriate care facility for my uncle who as well as general old age issues suffers from Vascular Dementia. Based upon several glowing recommendations, we shortlisted the Austin Rose Care Home as a new home for my uncle. From my initial contact with Austin Rose through to every point of interaction, I could not find any cause for concern. I had no doubts whatsoever that all of the staff at Austin Rose were committed to providing the very best home as well as experience for those in their care, including relatives of their patients. All of the colleagues at Austin Rose made our experience as excellent as it was, however, it was obvious that the care home's way of working was being driven by their organisation. Our contact was everything that anyone could wish for. Thank you.
Everyone has been very supportive and understanding after the loss of our mother. My brother is a current resident. The staff are very friendly and take time to get to know the residents by chatting with them. They always try to encourage residents to participate in activities and engage with others.
