Foxland Grange is a lovely, welcoming care home. The staff are very friendly, and there are plenty of activities for the residents to participate in if they wish. The bistro is a perfect place for a family to sit and chat with their loved ones over a cup of coffee.
Foxland is blessed with fine premises and attractive gardens. There are plentiful and varied activities for the residents to enjoy. Its greatest strength, though is the staff. They are irwariably caring, cheerful and good humoured. Nothing is too much trouble.
Overall ambience of the home is really good, the foyer always looks welcoming, staff are always polite and helpful. Mom is well cared for, and caring staff are very attentive. Room is clean and tidy. Food on the whole is good, especially when home made cakes and biscuits are on offer to residents and visitors served in the bistro. Faye and the activities team always provide excellent and various activities/trips out.
Everyone was extremely pleasant and helpful. Jazz understood all our worries and concerns as this was my mothers first stay in a care home but having done 4 weeks as a respite resident she feels she probably would no longer manage at home on her own and so she is now going to become a permanent resident. This decision has been taken due to the care and compassion shown to my mother of her own volition and is a reflection of the care she has been given by all the staff.
I visited a neighbour and the services at Foxland Grange are phenomenal. The welcome, the food, the bistro and the change in my neighbour has been excellent. This is a high class care home that offers amazing activities and the home itself is very impressive in size. It's a pleasure to visit my neighbour in his new home, which almost feels like a hotel.
Foxlands provided a perfect place for my Mum to recover for three weeks after surgery. From the outset, contact with Foxlands was both caring and professional.Mum was made to feel less anxious about moving in and in fact looked forward to it.When she was there, she was gently encouraged to mix with others at the dining table and hence she very much enjoyed the company of three other ladies. All staff were very caring and when visiting you immediately felt a relaxed and happy environment.I was confident that my Mum received the appropriate care that she needed.Although Mum did not get involved in any activities, they were very varied, and if Mum had stayed longer, I am sure she would have enjoyed getting involved in some of them.
My Father has been a resident at Foxlands since March 2024, when he was no longer able to look after my mother and himself. My mother sadly passed away in July 2024, but the care she received from the staff was exemplary as was the support they gave my father and the family. Since then Dad has had to find a new norm having being married for 67 years, the staff at Foxlands have played an important role in this, taking time to understand his interests. He has always been a keen gardner and with the home having raised beds and pots has enabled him to take an interest in the gardens and look at what could be planted for all residents to enjoy. Even families of other residents are bringing in plants for him to find places for. He has been named Monty John. In addition to gardening he enjoys any word games or quizzes, at 91 years old he wants to keep his mind active, again the activities team make sure that things are modified for his poor sight. All staff are a credit to the Home
It would be nice if the notice on his door, 'Please shut the door,' is complied with.
A really pleasant atmosphere and very polite staff, having to wait after meals to be brought back to the room is quite long and frustrating.
I visit my mum every Saturday, have lunch with my mum in the dining room, and stay for the afternoon. I have always found the staff very friendly, caring and compassionate. The residents are clearly treated with dignity.
My father has been here just over 1 week and from coming out of another care home because of neglect this is another world he is happy and being treated well the home is very palatial and the staff very welcoming and kind. We as a family are over the moon and have no worries in leaving him in their care.
We attended the dementia cafe organised by the staff at Foxland Grange. The event was extremely informative and created a safe place for us to discuss a variety of subjects that related to our experiences with dementia. We learnt so very much from the talk given by Alzheimer's Society and the shared stories shared by other attendees. Very grateful for this opportunity to attend and participate.
First time visiting my grandma and felt very welcomed. The staff were really engaging and lovely, especially with my little girl. The place is beautiful and has a lots of things to do and rooms to visit. My grandma has said it's a nice place to stay.
My mother is a new resident to Foxland Grange - not yet three weeks. Our guidance and support during the exploratory and pre-resident stays was outstanding, all questions answered and reassurance in abundance. Mum was leaving her home of 61 years where I was heavily included in her care. The 'move-in' was smooth (and emotional). My mother has very poor vision so getting used to new routines and environment has been challenging - it is still early days. The staff have been supportive, the environment warm and welcoming. As a relative I have been made welcome and been encouraged to be involved with my mother's care as we would both wish. We continue to learn about the new lifestyle as the team continue to learn about us!
From the moment we entered the home, what very friendly staff welcomed us! We knew my brother was in safe hands 24 hours day and night. A very huge thank you.
Amazing place. My father is very happy and loves all the fantastic staff.
One of the things I appreciate most about Foxland Grange is that the staff really do try very hard to make the residents' lives better and sometimes, for example with dementia patients, it is not an easy task at all. The availability of safe and private places where you can spend time with relations (in a large or small group) makes all the difference to visits. In particular, the private lunch/dinner room where you can share a family meal together is lovely and the food is excellent, the service attentive.
Visited dad on Father's Day. The entertainment team were very good making them gifts and putting banners around the reception area. Well done to all the staff for making dad comfortable and well cared for.
I have seen great improvements in reminiscence since my last review it's now as good as assisted living so I now give a 5-star review to all staff and management.
