View full details of Greenhill Park Residential Care HomeI am extremely happy with the level of care that my mum is receiving. The staff are competent, kind and attentive, and the management team's understanding of the needs and priorites of the residents is second to none. Coordination with the NHS to solve a health problem was excellent, and my mum's general health and mood have improved enormously since she arrived in February, helped greatly by the delicious home-cooked food and the increasing number of activities on offer. Visitors are welcomed warmly and soon feel like one of the family. Housekeeping and maintenance are also excellent, with spotless bedrooms and public spaces and great laundry services. I never expected to feel this confident about the abilities of a care home to look after my mum, but I am truly impressed by both the staff's and the management's commitment to the wellbeing of their residents. Greenhill Park is a real community and a place where everyone can feel at home.
Absolutely outstanding staff, the care I see and attention to residents is second to none. Always someone on hand for a chat and so informative about my step dad and all his care.
I visit 3 times a week. Always found everyone from the bottom to the top to be very nice to me on every visit so I am sure my sister-in-law is of the same opinion. You are most welcome to go and talk to the manager/under manager at any time if you have any worries.
Greenhill Park care home is excellent. The staff and management are kind, caring, compationate and efficient. The home has a lovely family feel. Nothing is too much trouble. I cannot recommend Greenhill highly enough.
My dad has received excellent care. From his arrival the staff have understood his needs and cared for him with great compassion. They have also been incredibly helpful in supporting disolsions with the NHS over continuing care.
The staff are friendly, mums room is always spotless, the facilities are great with various rooms to be able to sit in when I visit. Mum is well looked after. I gave a 4 star review as I feel communication needs improving.
After a period of staff changes earlier this year, we feel increasing confidence in Monika the new manager and her entire team. Monika has held regular meetings with relatives ( and residents) to share her vision and has acted on some suggestions and requests arising. Part of her vision was to increase the range of activities on the weekly programme; adventurous outings to the Safari Park and a Motor Museum have been enjoyed already. The visits from the tots are a delightful inter generational initiative, plus the classical music concert & art are stimulating and lovely for my mother. In fact she is captivated by all the music entertainment. All staff are accommodating in many ways, for example, we are able to book the smart Garden Room for visitors, birthdays or lunch. The catering team are always so flexible & considerate of my mother's dietary needs (and even ensured there were vegetarian options for me when we had a rare Sunday lunch together with her niece.
Mum has been at GreenHill since August, she has settled in very well. Sadly Mum has had to spend time in hospital, but due to staffs quick identification and reactions, Mum was taken to hospital as quickly as possible. All members of staff are welcoming, friendly, helpful attentive and available. They have made the transition for both Mum and myself so smooth and easy. Greenhill is clean and homely, there are activities on all the time, and family are welcome to visit join in activities any time.
On the whole the care is good. However there are times when clear requests and written instructions are ignored. When family feel the need to write instructions on a notice it should indicate to carers that something is not done as per care plan. Common sense does seem to be improving but trying to encourage as much independence as possible and not doing things for them because its quicker is not good care. Medication should be given as instructed, otherwise it is not effective and results in exacerbation of condition, causing stress and illness which should be controlled with correct procedure. Activities seem to be improving which helps to reduce boredom which in turn causes aggression and distress. Sitting a person at a table to wait an hour for lunch or coffee is not stimulating and is very uncomfortable. These are observations which I hope will help. The carers in general may on occasions be lacking but they are generally good carers who show compassion and genuine affection.
Although this review relates to October 25. It is our overall feeling that since my mum became resident at greenhill that she is safe, genuinely cared for, and all of here requirements are met to the upmost standards. Due to both my wife and I being self employed we don't have as much time as we would like or need to look after my mum . We are comfortable that when we at work mum is in the best place she can be. A heart felt thanks to everyone on the team at Green Hill, well done and keep up the excellent work.
Mum has been a resident at the care home for 8 months. She is very happy. Looks well. The carers are very good and professional. Also very compassionate and kind. Always approachable. The catering is very good. All the staff work extremely hard. The care home is spotless. Clothes are laundered regularly too. We are very pleased with everything.
Greenhill park is a happy, friendly and well managed care home. There has been significant efforts to involve families and friends of relatives at many lovely events. The management staff know my Mum as well as everyone working there. The management have a keen eye for good quality care in a safe environment. The care staff are wonderful. My Mum always looks lovely and is contented there. They communicate really well with the family and recently acted efficiently and immediately when my Mum was unwell. The staff appear to be happy in their work and are rewarded for their efforts. The staff are knowledgeable and this is shown in the way they care for and understand my Mum. The home has recently undergone lots of aesthetic work and is smart, homely and clean. I would not want my Mum to be anywhere else.
My mum has lived at Greenhill for almost one year. She is generally settled and always well looked after. The staff are Greenhill's greatest strength I have never seen them be anything other than caring and kind. They are well led by a strong management team who always keep me informed. The atmosphere is good, for me letting someone else look after my mum was a difficult decision but they haven't disappointed. I visit most days, at different times and it's always nice to be there.
Am satisfied with the care provided to my wife in all aspects - home clean - staff very friendly and caring. Management pro-active & interested. Home convenient to me & my daughter. Improvements & modernisation underway.
I have had a good experience as a visitor to a resident at the care home. The staff are kind, gentle and caring. I haven't encountered the management staff on my visits, though emails have been dealt with helpfully and professionally. The home is always clean and residents look well-cared for. I can't comment on some facilities eg showering as I've never seen them. The food seems good and drinks are plentiful.
I have always received all the information about the care of Sylvia that I have a need to know. I am completely satisfied that she is being looked after by the best people available. They treat her with all the love, care & respect that she deserves. My thanks to all the management staff & all their amazing carers.
Cannot thank the team at Greenhill for the care they give to mum. She was reluctant to go into residential care but realizes its for the best. As she cannot walk and needs care 24/7. They are on top of her health issues. Contacting her G.P for medications and contacting the paramedics if that is whats required. She has only been here for 6 months but is joining in. Activities there have been a lot of changes in the short time mums been here but hopefully things have settled down now.
There are lovely rooms. Facilities are nice and the staff welcoming. Pleasant visit with my mother.
Staff are cheerful, helpful and visible. Occasionally need to listen carefully to what is being said, though I know they are very busy.
Since he has gone into the care home the staff have treated him exceptionally, sometimes under difficult circumstances. They have shown nothing but caring and patience with him. The staff are always smiling and happy. They greet us warmly which is always nice.
