View Full Details of Lane House Care HomeLane House is a very good example of a 'traditional' care home. Strong points: Room design - most rooms have doors opening onto the courtyard garden or the main garden. Team - a stable team means that care plans are implemented well and rapport is meaningful. Kitchen - food is cooked on-site and Mum's quirky tastes are catered for. Staffing levels - staff work as a single team, ensuring there are enough to support residents. Language - almost totally English as first language, really important for hard of hearing & confused. We visited 15 homes in the area and this was equal with 1 other. Mum went to the other home first due to availability. The results were poor, with numerous failings. We moved Mum to Lane House at the first opportunity and the difference was stark. That's where the list of strengths comes from. We sleep at night knowing Mum is safe and well looked after.
Lane House is always very clean and feels more like a hotel than care home. The staff are welcoming and friendly towards the residents. My mum who has dementia, has been living here for three years and she has always seemed well looked after and happy. The kitchen staff work hard to create tasty meals, and there are lots of activities in the lounge to keep residents busy, as well as events throughout the year.
We are very happy with the care offered to mum in Lane House. After a very difficult 3 years and traumatic treatment (or lack of!) in hospital and an assessment centre mum settled straight away. She ate within an hour of arriving having previously refused food for weeks. She co-operates with staff more than she has for years. She is clean, tidy, and well presented to us as visitors - and enjoys visits from family particularly her great grandchildren, As NOK we are kept well informed and feel she is now safe and able to be her whichever version of her se presents.
Mum's been in Lane House for over four years and has been very well cared for since day 1. I've been well informed of any situation that's happened either regarding her health or care always a pleasure to speak with the management team who are always ready to listen for which I would like to say a big thank you.
Lovely home with caring staff. Always kept very clean and nothing is too much trouble to care for elderly guests.
Lane House is a really lovely Care Home. Clean, well maintained and beautifully decorated a home from home. Mum has been here a few months now and is thriving, which is lovely for us as a family to see. The staff and management are welcoming, friendly and very approachable..nothing is too much trouble. The care mum receives is amazing, everyone is very respectful, kind and patient and Mum loves them !! There are lots of activities , throughout the day and Mum has even taken up a spot of gardening!! We can't thank them enough for their care and support for Mum and our family .
Wife moved in a couple months back, good caring staff, support from office who always have any information we need. Welcome to join my wife for meals which is important to us both. Lots of activities on the go. My wife is thriving here.
The level of care displayed at Lane House is second to none. All the staff are fantastic, have great patience and show true caring to the residents. My mother had nothing but kindness shown to her. Her room was great with a lovely garden view, fantastic on a hot day with the windows open. There is always something going on with plenty of different activities to keep the residents occupied. The home itself is spotless and always looks welcoming. My mother really did have a great time in your care.
On first impressions the home appears to be lovely, well decorated, clean and the bedrooms look comfortable. Unfortunately the care afforded to my mother did not reflect this. I was extremely disappointed and quite frankly traumatised with how she was treated. Some staff appeared to try, but generally communication was virtually none existent especially from management. I would urge anyone to think carefully before sending a loved one here!
My mom loves it at Lane House, we were really worried about how she would settle in but to our surprise she loves it! The carers are all lovely and really look after her and all the other residents. They treat her with respect and dignity, nothing is too much for them, even when they are rushed off their feet. The two ladies who do the activities are brilliant too and this home has very good management. The food is homemade and Mom loves it!
My sister and I looked at several care homes, Lane House was by far the nicest we have seen, it was beautifully presented and the staff were very helpful. My father is very happy there also when we visit we are made to feel part of the family.
On Friday 14th July 2023 my dad moved into Lane House after a stay in hospital and a family decision that Dad needed 24-hour care, it was not a decision we wanted to make but my goodness it was surely the right one! Dad is thriving, he’s putting on weight, eating better, has company all day, can reside in his own beautiful room if he so chooses! I asked Dad if he was happy and he said “yes”, he is feeling “more at ease everyday!” All members of staff from management to care assistants to catering to entertainment to maintenance to housekeeping are all so approachable, nothing is too much trouble! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me the chance to be my dad's “daughter” again! I can sleep at night knowing he is in the best possible hands! Keep up the good work!
The manager was friendly, informative and welcoming from the onset, putting all our worries and concerns at ease. From day one, person centered care was a priority for Dad. Ongoing activities are constant, which are fun filled and stimulating. Dad is always well dressed, clean and groomed whilst shown dignity and respect from staff who behave natural and friendly in their approach. Lane House has a home from home ambience, it is clean, fresh, inviting and has a natural, warm and homely feeling. Residents are encouraged to utilise their remaining skills and be independent, where possible, engaging in activities like cooking. Visitors are always made to feel welcome. Management and staff are very supportive providing help, advice and are always on hand to address any questions or concerns. A very special thank you to management and staff for their efficiency in providing necessary, diligent, attentive care, at such a high standard. Lane House, highly recommended.
Lane House tries so hard to give overall good care to their residents. They have a great activities package with dedicated activity staff that go above and beyond. My mother has had long-term care at this home and has been happy and very content.
I put off moving my mother into residential care as I had been told she was better at home. It became obvious to me though that she wasn't doing well and her carers couldn't fulfil her needs so I decided it was time. With more than a few misgivings and a big sense of guilt, I went ahead. I had looked at a few residential homes and some did nothing to set my mind at rest. I then came across Lane House and as soon as I walked through the door I was impressed with the place. It was clean smart and welcoming, my worries about whether am I doing the right thing? were dispelled, in short, I felt reassured as it's not an easy thing to decide. The staff are welcoming and helpful, I can say without doubt they really care about the residents. Mom always looks good, her hair is groomed, her nails are done and she has improved since she started living there. Lane House Care Home has a policy of encouraging peer socialisation and its doing Mom a world of good. I would recommend Lane House.
We appreciate all that the caring staff do. Recently lots of lovely events have been organised and greatly enjoyed. The staff seem more relaxed and so does our relative. The food seems better too and more varied. We know that Lane House is definitely the best place for our relative knowing she is safe, happy and very well cared for. Thank you to all the staff.
My mum has been a resident for over 4 years. From day one the staff have made her feel that it's her home. They are caring and empathetic giving me confidence that she's happy and cared for especially during the pandemic. The meals they are served is first class and there is always a birthday so cake is a must! The activities lady really thinks outside the box to think of things for them to do and keeps them doing things they would normally do in their own home. I cannot recommend Lane House highly enough!
Mum has only been here for a very short time but my overriding impression has been of a very friendly and welcoming home. Within a very short time of Mum arriving in the home, the cook came to introduce herself and asked about food preferences. Every member of staff has been so friendly and they can't do enough for Mum. She has a beautifully clean en-suite room overlooking the gorgeous gardens. I have every confidence that Mum will be safe and happy here.
My mom came to Lane House on a short stay. My family agreed she was to stay there. Everyone in the home is one big family. We are always made to feel very welcome. The home has been decorated and it looks lovely but still has that homely feeling.
It was the first time in nearly a year since I saw my father. The care home staff were very friendly and accommodating. It was lovely to see my father in his surroundings very happy.
