View Full Details of Ashfields Care HomeOur lovely mother-in-law, came into your home in Aug 25 she came in on respite as it was a rush to find her somewhere to live quickly, and you obliged. I can not thank you enough, as the quality of care has been truly wonderful, I'd like to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts, especially Gail, Tracey for making us all feel so welcome.
Mum joined Ashfields Care Home in July 2025. From the moment we had our first visit, and most importantly, she was made to feel at home and very welcome. The staff and management team have been caring, patient and super efficient in making sure mum has everything she needs. The warmness of the staff and the fact that they care about each resident is very apparent. Mum now feels safe, cared for and no longer lonely. This is a very special place, and we feel confident in the care and friendship one is receiving.
From viewing Ashfields, to dad arriving 31/12/24 to his departing (death) in October 2025, staff have been fantastic with our dad. Nothing was more than we could ask for - the staff had a good laugh with his ways. They also made us, his daughters, very welcome too. The care and support that was given was excellent - even in the days leading up to his death, they treated him with dignity and respect. Well done Ashfields.
From the minute our dad arrived, he was treated with the upmost dignity and made to feel at home. All the way through his care, he was treated like a family member by all of the Team. Nothing he or we asked for was ever too much even down to his poached eggs!, When he passed, staff did all they could to ensure we were supported and he was given the best care to the very last second. They even took a time out of their day to say a final goodbye to dad as he was taken away. There was not a second that went by without full care and love. We have nothing but gratitude, thanks and the upmost respect to all that cared for him
After 5 weeks in hospital my elderly father was transferred to Ashfields Care Home on fast track palliative care. From the minute he arrived he has been treated with constant kindness, dignity and respect. We as a family cannot praise the care home enough. The care he continues to receive is outstanding from everyone in the home. It is a comfort to us to know how content he is during his last few months of life due to this outstanding place and its wonderful staff. Thank you.
My mum has been at Ashfields Care Home for over a year now and the care she has, has been amazing. The staff and management are all lovely and really make a fuss of my mum, she is really struggling with her speech and mobility but the staff are always trying to get her to join in with the activities which the home put on. There's always something going on for everyone.
Initially I found the experience of dad moving into Ashfields Care Home very harrowing and confusing as although dad decided he wanted to go into a care home, he struggled with the situation and my sister and I were 'blamed'. The majority of staff have been caring, kind, considerate and welcoming and have gone out of their way to be friendly and helpful nd have been excellent and work extremely hard. Dad has gradually mellowed and certainly enjoys the banter and kindness of the majority of the staff. We do feel his room needs decorating and his bathroom.
I find all the staff to be excellent and very friendly. Mum is on Poppy. Since moving in on the 24th January 2024. We feel Mum has improved. As a family we are disappointed with the £869 increase in fees, monthly, which is £76,65.00 per year. We do think its one of the best care homes.
My mother who resided on Poppy suite where I found the staff are very pleasant and caring always busy with activities, singing and general things to do. Always clean and tidy. My mother is very happy made friends and has settled down very well.
My partner is now in her eighth week at Ashfields and I am so pleased that they were able to offer her a bed. Her general well-being has improved immensely and her physical and mental states have blossomed. She is quite a character and at times can present some challenging behaviour which the staff have dealt with in a most professional and caring way. Any problem or concern is sorted promptly and efficiently. She hasn't been so happy and settled for such a long time. As her dementia journey progresses it is a great comfort to me to know that we will be supported every step of the way by a great team of people who are dedicated and genuinely care. Many thanks to everyone particularly to those in Forget-Me-Not suite.
My Mum is a resident in Poppy Suite and since she moved in she has received exceptional care. At 85 years of age and blind she has been encouraged to join in all activities and has gone from being very quiet and introverted to coming out of her shell. It's definitely given her a new lease of life. The staff are totally dedicated to caring for the residents and always have a smile on their faces. Nothing is to much trouble and there's always a cup of tea available for visitors. My Mum couldn't be in better hands.
Friendly and very helpful staff Lovely environment and Dad has settled really well Meals absolutely fantastic Very clean and tidy Lots of activities going on and as a family we are very pleased with the overall service
Mum has now been a resident at Ashfields Care Home on Daffodil suite for almost two years. She continues to receive excellent care from all of the wonderful staff. Mum is treated with compassion, dignity and kindness. We feel that she is closely monitored in a clean and safe environment. Mum receives lots of hugs and everyone fondly appreciates her sense of humour! Our grateful thanks to all staff.
My mother lives in the Daffodil suite. She has had to make a big adjustment as has to live there due to life life-changing stroke. Staff have been very sensitive to that. They have also displayed a lot of care for me as I have adjusted to Mum's new living circumstances. It feels like we have joined a wider family. Effort is made to make Mum feel special on a regular basis, the activities also bring structure and a bright spot to her day and are on every day. The care team are hard-working, but always has a smile and a bit of fun with Mum to brighten up her day. Mum loves going to the coffee shop with her book to socialise with whoever may come in. The staff across all departments are friendly and welcoming and treat the residents with dignity and respect. Summer days in the courtyard or the garden spaces are also lovely, with relaxing spaces that don't feel like a care home. I can't stress enough how much peace of mind I have knowing Mum is well looked after, with people who care.
We as a family would like to thank the manager and all of the staff at Ashfields Care Home for the care and love they showed my father. My dad was a resident for 10 months before sadly passing away during September. The staff dealt with his passing with total respect and showed him the dignity that he deserved. When we returned the following morning, Dad's room had a fresh daffodil on the door; a really thoughtful tribute. A member of staff even helped us with Dad's belongings, as our emotions were too overwhelming to do it ourselves. We cannot speak highly enough about the staff at Ashfields Care Home, it is truly the best care home in the district.
I find this home excellent. The staff make you feel like one of the family.
Since coming to Ashfields Mum has improved both physically and mentally. She looks forward to the activities and takes part in most of them. All of the staff that I've come across have been very friendly and knowledgeable, all treating my Mum with the greatest of respect.
My Dad initially came to Ashfields for 2 weeks of respite care. From the very first day, he was treated with dignity and respect. The staff are so welcoming, and the level of care and attention is exceptional. The home is clean, smells lovely and it's modern yet has a very homely feel. My Dad has since become a permanent resident and as a family, we get peace knowing he is safe, very well looked after, and in relaxing surroundings.
I came to Ashfields in the Poppy Suite for respite when I broke my kneecap and felt unprepared to return home on my own. I had such a very enjoyable supportive and happy 2 weeks! The staff were absolutely wonderful so caring, friendly and fun too - all the day and night staff. They all helped my recovery in a gentle and positive way until I felt ready and confident to return home. I made lots of new friends too!
My Grandma has been in the Forget-Me-Not suite at Ashfields for a couple of years now and she is always well looked after and cared for. Due to the travel distance between us, it is particularly lovely to receive regular updates via message to see what she has been up to. She is regularly involved in activities and always has a bright smile. The staff are lovely and I can't thank them enough for taking such good care of my nan.
