View Full Details of Welby CroftMy mum has dementia, with respite in mind I visited Welby Croft. The home is secure as the main entrance is locked at all times so residents can't wander off and visitors must sign in. The rooms we saw were newly decorated, one had a view of the garden and the other a view across the countryside. I appreciated the consideration and time that must have gone into developing their "Memory Lane" which was excellent. The amount of activities they do with residents is impressive, they were preparing an "al fresco" dining experience, and monthly they also organise a day out. The most important thing was seeing how the staff interacted with the residents and it was wonderful to see the attention, care and respect shown. When the time comes, I'm sure my mum would be happy here.
From the first time we arrived at Welby the staff welcomed us with open arms and warm smiles, and that kindness has never wavered. Every team member treat the residents with kindness, respect, and compassion. What sets Welby apart is the sense of family. They don't just provide care; they create a home. My brother has found not only safety and comfort here, but also friendship, laughter, and joy. The activities are thoughtfully planned, the meals are delicious and nutritious, and the environment is always clean, cheerful, and full of life. We are endlessly grateful to the wonderful team who go above and beyond every day. Knowing our brother is happy, well-cared for, and valued brings us peace that words can't fully express. Thank you for everything you do, you are amazing!
My mother suffers from dementia as well as many other issues. She has been in Welby Croft since December 24. It has a warm, family environment and all are wonderful who work there. The food is excellent and they have an ongoing activities programme. A hairdressers salon in house is a luxury with a quiet lounge, lounge with a television and a lovely conservatory looking over the hills. I don't think people know how hard it is to run a home catering for so many people all with individual needs and personalities. I and my family visit my mum regularly and I know not all people can't do that but I see all the hard work that goes into making the home so special.
My mum was a resident at Welby Croft for over 2 years sadly passing away December 2024. I cannot recommend Welby highly enough. The staff are amazing. So caring and provide a wonderful atmosphere for all residents and their families. They have been supportive during some difficult times and have always shown care and dignity. The activities available are varied and non-condescending to patrons and seem to be well-liked. Food is homemade, looks delicious and of an excellent quality - extra was always available if needed. I sincerely cannot thank them enough for the care shown to my beautiful mum. The laughter and love at Welby Croft is present each and every day. The residents are respected and cared for as I would have only better as 24/7. Nothing was too much for them in relation to the care of my mum and my family during her final weeks and for which I will always be grateful.
